(The story behind this chapter is, well, really strange. After making the Thanks Giving Special, the following summer, I wanted to make a summer special in which all the Sonic characters go to the beach and have like a whole beach emarc. /emHowever, um, this was harder to do than I thought due to the nature of summer. During summer, when I sit down at my computer, I spend most of my time on my YouTube channel. Typing never crosses my mind. Typing is something I think of at school since I don't have access to all my resources on my home computer while away from home. Therefore, I didn't get to work on my summer special until fall. Then, I felt pressured to write about school, and I don't regret it. If it wasn't for the early school chapters, I would've never continued to improve my writing or get into drawing. Anyway, this became a two part-er + a paragraph of the third part. I might tack the paragraph onto the end of part two. The beach chapters were written very slowly over a ridiculous amount of time, so my writing style might be up-and-down.)

Suddenly the answer as to why Mephiles has been acting strangely popped into Honest's head as she, Shadow, and Silver speed down the road towards the beach.

Maybe, after being around normal mobians for this long, he was starting to get a personality? But then again Mephiles was the embodiment of darkness, meaning he didn't conform to the rules of the universe. Right? Chaos did she sound like Silver right now.

Speaking of Silver, Silver was in the backseat of Shadow's car right then, waving out the back of the car at Rouge, Blaze, and Amy in the car behind them.

Honest squinted at the moon. Yes, they were traveling to the beach at night. You really think the Sonic girls and boys would go to the beach for just one day and one day only? Ha. Of course not. The Sonic characters spent all of July at the beach!

Shadow looked out the rear-view mirror to see Rouge make a kissy face at him from Amy's passenger seat. He sighed and turned up the radio.

The Sonic girls and boys were doing what they did best... staying up late to play the usual pointless "would you rather"s and "I dare you to"s. It was midnight and they were still all up, playing truth or dare. Sonic was being fake like always- he constantly chose dare no matter who it was daring him. Finally it was Honest's turn, and thus time to get the terrible fan fiction ball rolling.

"Sonic," Honest said, beaming wildly. "Truth or dare?" Of course he picked dare.

"I dare you to give Shadow a kiss!" Honest exclaimed, saying that just to prove that she can torture Shadow better than Sonic.

Shadow's eyes flew open, but before he could dodge out of the way, Sonic gave him a big smooch on the cheek.

"F-f-f-f-f-f! F-f-f-f-f-f!" Shadow's face went white.

"What's the matter, Faker? Was it really that breathtaking?" Sonic said, the corners of his mouth rising higher and higher.

"F-f-f-FAKER!" Shadow exclaimed, karate-chopping Sonic on the top of his head. This violent action failed to deter Sonic one bit. In fact, it seemed to actually motivate Sonic to keep trying to aggravate him. Or so it seemed to Shadow.

Next it was Blaze's turn. "So, Shadow, truth or dare?"

"Truth," Shadow responded almost instantly.

"Okay then," Blaze said, thinking. "In what ways do you like Sonic?"

"What? I don't like him at all!" Suddenly Shadow felt Honest elbow his side.

"Well, I enjoy the attention he gives me, I guess. Does that count?"

"Well, Shadow," Sonic whispered. "I can provide a lot more than just attention." He leaned close to Shadow's ear to say this. Shadow shoved him away, sending him into the floor where he hit the back of his head on the carpet flooring.

Somewhere down the line it got to be Honest's turn again. Shadow was sure to pick dare so that he wouldn't have to reveal any sensitive information, that is if he had anything to hide.

"I dare you to... let me sit in your lap for the rest of the game!" Honest exclaimed.

"What?" Sonic said. "But I was going to ask him that!"

Shadow didn't want to think about the sorts of torture he would have to endure if Sonic had got to dare him. Luckily it was just Honest. When Honest sat down, he put his arms around her to hold her still. Honest started purring loudly, creating background music for the rest of the game.

When it became Sonic's turn, he didn't have anything to ask Shadow. Instead, he picked on somebody else. "Amy, truth or dare?"

"Truth!" Amy exclaimed, anticipating his question.

"Is it true you have a crush on me?" Everyone at the table face-palmed at once.

"Yes, I do! I love you, Sonic!" Amy exclaimed, clapping her hands together in joy.

Sonic just smirked and leaned back in his seat. "Of course you do."

Shadow grabbed Honest tighter. Was he jealous of Sonic and Amy? Suddenly Honest felt a smile forming on her face. Shadow squeezed her even tighter. "Ouch! What the heck, Shadow-kun?"

"I could sense you were thinking something questionable was all," Shadow spoke flatly.

Honest let out a breath of air. Since when could he read minds...?

Eventually the game ended somewhere around 1 o'clock, and the girls and boys went to sleep in separate rooms. It took ages for Shadow to get Sonic out of his bed, but he was finally falling asleep...

When Shadow checked under his blankets that morning, he found Honest laying there beside him.

"Shadow-kun..." she whispered in her sleep.

"Honest?!" He shout-whispered. This woke her up and made her eyes shoot open and frantically move around the room.

"How'd I get here?" she mumbled.

"What I want to know is how you sleep-walked through a locked door!" Shadow exclaimed, pointing at the door which was, sure enough, locked.

"I... don't know," Honest stated, genuinely confused.

"Of course you don't know." Shadow pushed honest out into the hallway. "Go start the day in your own room."

Okay, well, they're at the beach. Derp. I know this chapter is four months late. Trust me, I know. I wrote it back in July, but I finished typing it in November. And the thing is I stopped writing the chapter here. I didn't even write about the beach itself, only the hotel. *facepalm* Well, I guess I should start writing that part now, but then I'll have to type it, so it will end up taking a long while. The thing is, it's not summertime anymore, so writing about the beach when it's zero degrees will be kind of strange. Please tell me in the comments what you would like me to do, and we'll just have to see. Please leave a vote if you like this story, and add this to your library so you'll be updated when the next part comes out. Bye-bye!
