I'm so sorry for the almost year-long wait, guys. I kept my promise, just... it took a while. :) Enjoy!

(November 2016)

Honest walked through the corridor, stopping in front of the door to her and the Sonic girls' room. From within the room she could hear voices. When she opened the door and stepped inside, Honest found all of the girls were sitting on the beds and talking. Light came from underneath the door to the restroom, revealing that someone was inside. (I feel like a guy writing about what girls do while alone XD I don't know why)
They were heading to the beach that morning after they ate in the hotel cafeteria. It was a small room with low ceilings and a linoleum tiled floor. There was one toaster and one microwave. Small boxes of cereal lay on the counter top near a refrigerator.
The girls arrived at the cafeteria first. Honest sat by herself at a table. She had popped a waffle in the toaster and was waiting patiently for it.
Akane went to stick a bagel in the toaster. When she went to put it in, it fell to the bottom, and she pushed the lever down. It wouldn't budge.
"Honest! There's something wrong with the toaster- ah!" The waffle and bread both flew up at once, scaring Akane. Her fur stood up at all angles.
Honest couldn't help but smile as she rose to help Akane stand up on her feet. "Thank you," Akane breathed. Honest got her waffle out and set it on her table. She then spun around to get a plate for Akane. The boys then began flooding into the cafeteria.
"Where are the chili dogs? What kind of hotel doesn't have chili dogs for breakfast?" Sonic said as soon as he stepped foot in the room. He saw a waffle sitting all alone at one of the tables, so he walked over to give it company.
Honest put the bagel on a plate and smeared cheese on it, handing it to her. Akane smiled and went to sit at the table Honest had chosen. Honest too went to sit down. She saw something nightmarish there.
There was a huge bite taken out of her waffle! Honest screamed and bolted over. Sonic was standing there, chewing away on her waffle! "Sonic, you weirdo, what did you do to my waffle?!" Honest pulled on the waffle, covered in maple syrup, trying to get it away from Sonic. Sonic grabbed on too, and together they managed to rip the waffle in two as well get sticky syrup all over themselves.
They assumed now was the best time to get ready to go to the beach. Since Honest's dress was now ruined, she washed it in the hotel laundry and let it hang on the door to dry. She also had nothing to wear, so her and the rest of the Sonic characters decided to get dressed in their swimwear and head for the water. Thank Chaos for that, now we can finally get the plot moving again!

(April 2017)
Honest and Akane ran across the warm sand to where Sonic and Shadow were standing. They spun around to face them, spraying sand from their heels. "How do we look?"
Honest was wearing a lavender, two-piece swimsuit with a large, yellow bow on the front of the top. Shadow noted that the bikini matched Honest's eyes almost perfectly. He was trying extremely hard not to stare.
Akane wore a red bikini with frills along the top and bottom edges of both pieces and with a small, white bow on the front of the top. She was just smiling with her eyes closed in triumph, but Honest was in Shadow's face. "I bought an extra black and red bikini just in case you wanted to be the model for some drawings of mine."
Shadow turned to Sonic for help, but he found that the azure hedgy was also staring into Shadow's face. "Please? I just want to see!"
Shadow's face went red and he ran towards the ocean. "Shadow, wait!" Honest ran after him with her arms outstretched. Sonic was dressed for the water, but of course he was too chicken to actually get in, so he stayed on the shore. Rouge was tanning near him, so he just sat in the sand silently beside her while she sat in a folding chair.
"Wa!" Honest exclaimed as she felt the cool water splash her body. Shadow was a distance from shore already. Honest tried to swim towards him, but she wasn't ever formally taught to swim, so she seemed to be going slow. Cats weren't supposed to really like water in the first place.
Honest looked back to see that Akane was still on shore with her feet and ankles beneath the shallow waves.
Honest was almost in reach of Shadow, or at least within earshot. He had ceased moving and was just floating, waiting for her. Of course he wasn't going to endlessly run from her like Sonic from Amy. Honest silently prayed that it wouldn't become like that any time soon because other Sonic fans tended to make fun of Honest because she was a fan character. They always said that she looked like Amy which was an absolute fabrication because they were only saying that because they simply did not know any better.

"I got you!" Honest was tired after her swim, so she clung to him, letting his floating body act as a lifesaver. Shadow held onto her with little effort and smiled. It was rare for him to smile, so when he did, Honest felt happy as well, knowing that she was one of the only people who had the power to make him do so. The whole time Honest felt as if others would make fun of her for liking a character in the canon.

It had been a while since any mustachioed doctors had tried to contact them or tried to interrupt any of their fun. That was normal, right? M-Maybe not for them, but it was normal for others to not have to worry about evil anything plotting against them, or plotting to have them as accomplices, so they should be happy that things were normal. Despite this, Honest couldn't help but feel that this much happiness wasn't good for them. Sure it felt nice to not have to worry about these things, but, then again, she missed having to hunt for pretty but powerful gems. That was what made this {w/Sonic} after all.

As Honest thought about all of this, Shadow had begun to swim back to the shore, where Akane was sitting. I wonder why she isn't swimming? Honest thought. When she felt sand beneath her feet yet again, she let go of Shadow and ran to Akane. "Akane! Are you okay?"Akane looked up at Honest as she sped towards her. Shadow followed Honest and stopped beside her. "I'm okay, I just-" Akane looked over the view of the ocean she had where she was sitting. "I've never been in such deep water."Honest smiled toothily. "Really? It's just like being in shallow water. Come on! Shadow and I can lead you out to where we were." Honest looked up at Shadow. He was no longer smiling. In fact, he looked just as he had when they had been at home, before they left yesterday afternoon. Honest felt a pang of sadness for some reason. Where had that come from? She brushed it off quickly. She might become depressed all the time like Shadow otherwise.

"Nn, sure." He helped Akane up and they walked into the water. "Wait for me," Honest mumbled, stepped through the sand carefully before diving into the ocean in front of them."See, it's not that bad," Honest told Akane. Akane was clutching onto Shadow's arm tightly like she was afraid, but she still nodded, suggesting just the opposite. Honest puffed out one of her cheeks and began tugging on Akane. "Just let go and you'll be able to tell just how not bad it is!"Akane yelped and, instead of getting in the water like Honest had hoped, just clutched onto Honest instead. "Hey! You can't-" Unlike Shadow, Honest wasn't prepared to hold up both the weight of herself and Akane while swimming, so both their heads went below the water instantly.

Shadow hung his head and sighed silently before jumping in to separate the two before something bad happened resulting in two unconscious bodies of dead weight for him to pull with him back to the beach. After Shadow had succeeded in pulling the small, orange, cat girl off of her, Honest stuck her head above water and started sucking in air. Akane was really scared after not only swimming by herself in deep water but also almost drowning. She was crying silently and was now in no shape to swim by herself. Shadow was forced to carry her back to shore. Honest followed reluctantly behind them.

When the three had reached the warm sand once again, they lied there like three fish ready to be dried. Sonic was heard laughing from further up the beach. Honest pressed her face in the sand, while Akane licked her tail and Shadow watched her steadily. Honest felt like she could lay there with her face in the sand all day, but she couldn't because she was promised lunch at twelve by Rouge.

I'm going to end this chapter here and call it a "pre-summer 2017" chapter. Then, over the summer, I will type/write up another chapter to release "post-summer 2017". :D See you then!

(And now for the paragraph I wrote post-summer 2017 since I'll never finish a whole other part...)

And then they were sitting around a picnic table under a pergola, eating seafood (what else would you eat at a beach?) at what time? Exactly 12:00 pm.
"Rouge?" Akane asked. The white bat looked up at her, a string of crab meat hanging from her mouth. "Why are you so exact when it comes to times?"
"I like to keep a strict schedule," was her short but well thought out answer. Everyone minus Honest shrugged at once. Honest was busy shredding a comically large filet of tuna with her teeth.

(Yeah, that's literally it. Hope you enjoyed reading this story. The next story I'm going to be uploading to is {Cafe Edition}. However, it's still a continuing series, so I will try to upload all the chapters I have so far, and then update it regularly from then on out. Then, I'm going to be uploading {w/Snow}. Thank you for reading!)
