"Something is malfunctioning!" Twelve year old Jasper Valdez yells as she throws her caramel hair into a ponytail not wanting it to catch on something. Her dark brown eyes barely glancing back at the black haired gray eyed Luka Jackson.

"I thought you said it was safe! The fates blessed it and everything!" The boy yells back as he goes to the wheel that was actually a red gaming joystick.

"It is safe! As safe as a time machine can be!" She yells back her eyes focused on the task at hand, opening a panel with her hand on fire,"Even with the Fates blessing it, and Hecate's magic it's dangerous!"

"Come on, girl. You can make this," Jasper mutters as she grabs a silver screw driver that was shifting into a pair of pliers, her hands never stopping.

"By the looks of it a couple of pieces started to fall apart as soon we got out of our own timeline. Take the wheel! I'll hold these together! We're having to stop now!" She screams over the buzzing noise that has increased. Without giving him time to answer she pressed a few numbers on a number pad then pressed a green button barely giving him time to take control of the joystick.

Everything suddenly stopped, and it was unnaturally quiet for a few moments then... BOOM!

They two twelve year olds crashed into each other then down to the floor forcing both of them to the other side of the machine with a big Thumb. Black spots filled both of their vision before they blacked out.

With a groan Jasper's eye's flutter open her hand raises to her head. Bringing it back down she groans as she sees blood.

"Great..." She mutters as she sits up. She looks to her right to see Luka who was still unconscious.

"Schist!" She growled. Standing up with a stumble she groans limping over to Luka as her ankle throbs lightly with pain.

"Of course it's sprained," Jasper grumbles, tearing a piece of her already torn shirt tying it to her head. Carefully sitting down next to Luka she shakes him lightly.

"Luka! You better not be dead, Brainiac," She growls out shaking harder when he doesn't open his eyes. After two minutes of trying to wake him up and her increasing worry his eyes fluttered open.

"Bolt?" He croaks out quietly. She couldn't help the relieved laugh as tears slid down her face.

"Yeah, it's me Fish Face," She says, calming after a moment,"You're not bleeding. Is anything broken?" At the mention of pain he groans his hand goes to his ribs.

"My ribs," He mutters.

"You're sure they're broken, not bruised?" She asks. He gives him a small glare.

"I've had enough broken ribs to know it's not just bruised," He grumbles Jasper's face twisted into obvious agreement.

She glances around before spotting two beat up backpacks just in arms reach hanging from a chair bolted to the floor. Reaching over she drags over before digging through them.

"Thankfully the Nectar and Ambrosia all here, a change of clothes, Mortal money, and the Dracmas," She said as she poured some Nectar into the lid of the canteen it was in.

There had been a possibility that any belongings wouldn't have made it with them. Thankfully that wasn't the case. She downs it tasting the tacos her dad used to make to keep everyone's morals up before he passed away her mom following shortly after.

"Give me the water bottle," Luka says holding out his hand,"We shouldn't waste Nectar." Jasper rolls her eyes as he pours some of the water on him causing him to slump back in relief as the water heals him.

"You just want to show off," She grumbles mockingly, unable to hide the relieved smile that Luka was okay.

"It's not my fault I am the grandson of Poseidon and Athena,"He teases good naturally.

"So you can move water, heal only yourself, and are somewhat smart. I can use fire, and control machines, and build things. I'm also good with people unlike most of my dads brothers and sisters thanks to mom. Being the granddaughter of Hephaestus is better,"She says with a smirk lighting her finger to prove her point.

"Sure sure," He mumbled before he became more serious,"What year is it?" She looks at him.

"Let's go see," She says standing up following her, and clasping her hand. Twisting the hatch of the door they climb out of the pod like time machine.

They stare in awe at the forest surrounding them. They landed in an abandoned field looking at the clean air and trees as a blind man would if he saw the sun for the first time.

"I knew everything would be different, but I never thought I would see something like this in real life," Jasper gasps twirling around. Nothing was burning, and there was no polluted in the air. Luka nods in agreement picking up a handful of grass feeling it.

After a moment of taking everything in Jasper pulls out a small disk from one of the small zipper pockets of the bag. It was built with the entire purpose of showing the date without using monster trackable technology.

"We went back too far!" Jasper exclaims showing Luka the disk,"We were supposed to land right before the titan war. According to the stories Uncle Percy would still be in Yancey! This is before even the Titan War! "

"Schist!" Luka growls before pacing for a second before calming down,"Okay, we can work with this. We knew this could have happened. Calm down and let's think. Maybe...we could go back?"

"Tilly is coput," Jasper sighs a lot more calmly gesturing to the time machine,"We couldn't even if Tilly was fine. We've changed the timeline just by being here whether by changing the future or by creating an entire new timeline. We both know it's a one way ticket here." Luka nods acknowledging her point.

"Do you still have your mark?" He asks, pulling up his shirt to see Hecate's mark burned into the back of his shoulder. Jasper nods, showing her's which was placed in the same spot.

"So at least Athena and Hephaestus will still think we are one of their children instead of grandchildren," Luka says glad that the pain of having the mark placed there was not for nothing.

"Maybe we could go to the school and act like students," Jasper suggested only for Luka to immediately shut it down.

"Aren't you forgetting something?" Luka asks, giving her a look. Jasper eyes furrow her head tilting in confusion not seeing the problem.

"Neither of us can read past the second grade level in english, and we are only slightly better in greek!" Luka points out sarcastically rolling his eyes.

"Schist, I'm an idiot! Of course," Jasper says, smacking her it wasn't surprising she forgot.

It was easy to forget just how behind they both were since in the future most kids had the same level of reading skill. Running your whole life to survive gave surprising little time to learn.

"I got it!" Luka explains causing Jasper to look at him in anticipation,"We can camp out in the City until dad goes on his trip! It shouldn't be until next month...though I don't know the exact can act like lost demigods who are looking for Camp who had stumbled upon the museum out of boredom. Then we can help out dad when or if he fights Mrs. Dodds, and see if us being here changed anything so far. Chiron will find us a way to camp, and when dad gets to camp, we can help. We have been living on the streets longer than My mom, Uncle Leo, and Aunt Thalia ever have. We should be fine even in this new time. Plus it will help us get better into this timeline. What do you think?"

Jasper thinks the plan over then looks Luka in the eye before cracking a mocking smile,"For someone who can be as oblivious as you, you're lucky you got some of Aunt Annabeth's ability to strategize."

He gives a mock wounded look making her push his shoulder with a laugh.

"We should probably gather supplies then go before anyone stumbles upon here," Jasper tells him.

"Got your blades?" Luka asks her. Jasper gives him a look almost offended before pulling out her silver screw driver twisting the base causing it to grow into a silver dagger.

"I think so," She says sarcastically," Do you have yours." Luka pulls it out two metal balls tossing them in the air. As they fall down they shift into two silver and gold arm length blades.

"I think so," He says in the same tone,"Let's go."

After gathering everything they could from Tilly, Jasper and Luka step back, and Jasper presses a blue button.

Slowly(and slightly loudly) the Machine starts shrinking turning into a picnic table.

"Did you just pull an Uncle Leo?" Luka gapes.

"Can't replace classic's," She says with a wistful smile,"As long as no siblings of dad's touches, Tilly. We should be good. Even then Tilly will fall apart, and it will seem like random parts."

"I still can't believe you named a time machine,Tilly," Luka deadpans. She gives him a cheeky smile in reply

"Together?" She whispers suddenly, nervous, grabbing his hand.

"Together."
