The Chronicles of The Virtual Heroes

Chapter Three

It had been a couple days now, at least in the Interfused worlds. Despite Mayuri's research, she didn't have the time to see if time flowed at the same rate as it did in the real world. The group had spent a day in the village to resupply as well as help up the defenses of the small village with minor weapons as well as training the people there. Zappary was especially good at that. The next day they were off traveling again. Off to the next small village. They were still in an overgrown forest but that was fine they were going to try to find virtual people to help, rouges to defeat, and real humans to help. That was why they were there of course. Along the way, things had been fun. They were all bonding and getting to know each other.

Lucian and Draggie, of course, grew closer despite one of them not talking much and Draggie blended well with the other three yo-kai after awhile. Draggie unlike his partner was very social once he felt comfortable in a group. Draggie's skill and determination really impressed Blazion and Zappary. Zappary in particular even challenged Draggie to a friendly battle in which Zappary won despite the attribute advantage Draggie had with his speed. Zappary was still impressed with Draggie's strength and potential and Draggie was amazed by Zappary's speed and skill. Dimmy even opened up to the kind Dragon kid.

The humans bonded with the yo-kai too. Other than Lucian and Draggie, all of the yo-kai and their respective partners grew closer. Zappary and Zoey had a lot in common, they were both filled with wild, bold, uncontrollable, and unpredictable energy, they were both always up for a challenge, they were always the first up in the morning, loved to have fun, and had no fear when it came to standing up for their friends, they were also very emotionally driven. They quickly grew to like each other by playing games, they were both very competitive and during the course of their small journey, they had dozens of mini-competitions, between races, card games, board games, eating contests, and even during the first battle they had a competition on who could take down the most thugs. Like always to Zappary was a helpful teacher to Zoey. They sparred a lot. Though Zoey knew a lot about Ultimate Mon Clash she did not know how to fight and even outside of fighting Zappary was very wise despite his child-like demeanor and appearance he was very wise beyond his years but he still knew how to have a lot of fun.

Mayuri and Blazion also grew to like each other a lot more. Mayuri was smart, cautious, and cool under pressure and Blazion was the same way just in a different way than Mayuri. They really suited each other. Blazion like Zappary helped teach Mayuri to fight. They also had a lot of fun not competing against themselves but against Zappary and Zoey. The four sparred a few times as teams and even in some games Blazion and Mayuri joined in to play with Zoey and Zappary. Mayuri and Blazion if nothing else shared a powerful passion that burned like fire. They were a bit more rational than Zoey and Zappary but they were still just as intense.

Mayuri and Zoey naturally became quick friends. They were both more outgoing than there male human companions and they enjoyed each other's company. They both were able to make each other laugh as well as tell a lot of stories about Lucian. Zoey was fascinated by Mayuri's smarts and they both loved to learn about each other. They also quickly grew close because of sparring and training as well as their little games. They just knew they would have to play a bunch of video games when they got back home again.

Daniel and Dimmy had a pretty chill relationship. Daniel along with the girls trained not alongside them he didn't spar yet but he and Dimmy trained. Dimmy was either with all four yo-kai or with Daniel at all times. They did talk but not much. They both had a mutual respect for one another and they formed a strong, even if, silent bond.

The eight had just finished sparring, well more like Mayuri, Zoey, Zappary, and Blazion sparring with Daniel, Lucian, Draggie, and Dimmy just watching. So they started again on the road. They were all prepared for anything, a rescue, an ambush, anything. Dimmy was smart too. He would either go as scout in the front a few meters ahead since he wouldn't be detected and Daniel did too some times since he could mimic Dimmy's abilities. They were literally distant from the group when they traveled but it wasn't for nothing.

It was nearly impossible for anyone to get the jump on them and even if someone did successfully get an ambush on the main group Dimmy and Daniel would get a counter-ambush on the attackers Dimmy used to do it all the time and even if Dimmy was attacked there was always backup on the way. Besides most creatures wouldn't try to mess with a group that had both humans and yo-kai especially armored humans.

Everything was going well until Dimmy and Daniel heard a couple cries for help from humans.

Dimmy and Daniel nodded to each other and ran to get the others. Dimmy practically just warped to them and they came rushing over.

Daniel said, "Come on guys this way."

Zoey powered up her gear and said, "Right behind you buddy."

Zappary said, "And I am behind her let's go." The whole group ran until they found a clearing with a couple of kids. On was a 15 year old looking girl who was holding on to a younger boy who must have been her younger brother based off of resemblance. They were both a bit tan with brown eyes and defining black hair. The young boy had a straight cut and the girl had curls. By the look of their clothing, the four could tell they were from the real world.

At the moment they were being attacked by a trio of yo-kai, one was a Signibble, another was a Terrorpotta, and the last was a Wotchagot. They all seemed to be ganging up on the two helpless humans.

Signibble prepared an electric attack but right as he let loose the bolt the attack was blocked by Zappary who quickly appeared to block the yellow elemental attack with his spear and Signibble was reduced to a purple smoke by Zoey who had launched her own spear to take out the troublemaker. Terrorpotta was then double sneak attacked by Dimmy and Daniel who popped out of the shadows cutting the yo-kai with there blades. Wotchagot was the last one who remained and he was finished by a fireball launched by Blazion and Mayuri. Draggie and Lucian both came to the humans' aid and made sure they weren't hurt.

Lucian asked, "Are either of you hurt?" as he helped them up.

Draggie said, "I hope those ruffians didn't hurt you *sniffle*."

The boy said, "Were fine other than ending up here."

The girl said, "Yes, and thanks to you eight. We just ended up here after trying to play a videogame."

Mayuri explained, "Well this is the videogame."

Zoey explained, "You all ended up stuck here for some reason this game likes to suck people up and put them here."

Lucian said, "Don't worry though we can send you back."

The girl said, "Oh good that's a relief, I really didn't want to be stuck here."

The boy said, "Me neither I thought being in a video game would be fun but it's too dangerous."

Daniel said, "you're in luck Mayuri here used her brains to save us three from this world when we first got stuck here."

Mayuri said, "Yeah just pull out your uh… Let's call them V-Phones for now. They're in your pockets."

The two kids pulled out there V-phones and Mayuri pulled out hers. She just did a few things on her phone real quick and like that the two kids were warped out of there.

The four were happy that they just performed their first successful rescue until they realized that all of the yo-kai stood there gaping confused.

Draggie was the first to ask, "What the heck just happened?!"

After the four humans explained to the four yo-kai what their situation was on their little break they just set up camp and continued to talk for a bit.

Zappary said, "So you four are from another world and you got sucked in to here."

Zoey said, "Yeah I know weird."

Dimmy said, "No matter how many times you say it it's weird."

Zappary said, "No it is very brave."

Draggie said, "And super *Sniffle* cool."

Lucian asked, "How so?"

Draggie said, Well you're from another world that just sounds so cool I wonder what you're world is like."

Zoey said, "Why don't I tell you about it then."

Draggie said, "Really."

Zappary said, "It is amazing but I was talking about how you four decided to come back to help your people even at your own risk."

Dimmy said, "I am impressed that you were able to do it traveling between worlds must hard to do."

Mayuri said, "Awe well it was actually pretty easy."

Blazion said, "Really?"

Mayuri said, "Honestly, yeah it was simple."

The group left the forest and mountain areas to be left into a valley filled city life there were tall buildings that seemed like towers. The cities weren't all made up of massive buildings there were many small ones in between and there were parks too. All the towers were connected by bridges like their own little city, even these cities were connected by a massive railroad system. The design for each tower varied some were modern sky scrappers others were like traditional Japanese towers.

They were getting closer to the first city. It seemed like things would be easy since there wouldn't be any rouges just outside the city due to lack of cover but surprisingly there was a group of yo-kai from what Draggie could tell they were all decently high rank yet there was something off about them. They had cages and it looked like they were hunting and trapping yo-kai?

The group went off the road to check it out. There were a couple N'mores, an Alloo, a MissTeri, a Pride Shrimp, a couple Hungorge, and a few Statikid. They all seemed different somehow.

Zappary said, "Well that's quite a few yo-kai."

Zoey said, "We've taken out more."

Lucian said, "There strong too."

Daniel said, "Well I still think we can take them down we just need a good plan."

Mayuri said, "Good thing I have one, Daniel, you and Dimmy will take out those two Hungorge. Zappary and Zoey once those two become vulnerable you guys will come in and strike down with lightning just don't get too close to Statikid. Lucian, Dragie you guys should go after Statikid with your rock shots and also fight Pride Shrimp you guys are probably the only ones who can keep them in check. Blazion and I will take out the other four. Everyone got it."

Everyone nodded and the humans powered up.

Dimmy and Daniel appeared and took down both Hungorge with two shots each.

Pride Shrimp shouted, "Hey what do—" but he never finished because then Zoey and Zappary came out spears blazing with electricity. As they crashed down sending a massive shockwave. Then while everyone was distracted by the light show Mayuri and Blazion started shooting fireballs at the four mysterious tribe members. While Lucian started a brawl with Pride Shrimp and Draggie shot Statikid with dozens of rocks.

Pride Shrimp said, "Oh you messed with the wrong shrimp." Pride Shrimp healed himself and shoved Lucian.

Daniel, Dimmy, Zoey, Mayuri, Zappary, and Blazion were all fighting the now five mysterious tribe yo-kai but their united power was too strong. Zoey and Zappary couldn't do much with their electric attacks with Statikid absorbing most of it and shooting it back so they were stuck on spear fighting. Daniel and Dimmy, as well as Zoey and Zappary, couldn't land a hit because of Alloo's power, and Daniel and Dimmy got shocked for it. Miss Teri was able to do good pelting all four with ice. Mayuri and Blazion were the only ones doing good damage hitting all of them with their fire attacks but no matter how much damage those two did it was weakened by both N'mores and Alloo but it was also healed by the N'mores.

Pride Shrimp said, "There is no way you're going to win."

Draggie said, "There is no way you're this strong naturally. What the heck is going on."

Pride Shrimp said, "Haha well you see me and my friends here got a power boost from our new master."

Lucian and Draggie both questioned, "New Master?"

Pride Shrimp said "Yeah he said he could make us stronger. Like the perfect versions of ourselves. In exchange, he just asked us to hunt down more Mons to add to his army and I bet he'll really love a set of human warriors."

Lucian said, "Urh well I guess we have no choice this is too tough a battle Draggie now."

Draggie absorbed the aura from Lucian and shouted, "Draggie Stone." Draggie then unleashed the aura and it formed into a giant rock that crushed Pride Shrimp. Lucian rushed to grab Draggie who fell from the air and then punched the rock into the other five yo-kai defeating them all. Then both collapsed to the floor from exhaustion. The other six of the group then rushed to their side. They won but at what cost.

And little did they know a creature was watching them with a wicked grin, oh this will be easy prey.

Mayuri and Daniel helped Lucian back to his feet after he woke up while Zoey grabbed Draggie off the ground. Draggie was asleep and snoring.

Mayuri asked, "What happened Luke?"

Zoey answered for the guy, "He used Draggie's soultimate and in the game that drains a lot of power they'll be fine but I guess we better find a safe place to stay tonight we can't afford to get conned in the city."

The group looked up at the grand city. It was a sight to behold and it felt like they were entering a giant castle when they passed through the border. They found a good hotel to stay in so they got a big room.

Zoey said, "I'm going to check out some of the city, anyone wanna come?"

Mayuri said, "I think I am going to stay with Lucian for now as well as check the systems back home."

Daniel said, "Yeah I think I want to stay here too."

Zoey asked, "Zappary, you wanna come?"

Zappary said, "No I think it would be best if we all took this time to recharge."

"I'll come with you," said Dimmy from behind Zoey starling her.

Zoey questioned, "Dimmy? Uh Sure. Okay." Zoey just grabbed her phone and then she and Dimmy walked around the city together. They both gazed at how big buildings were. Zoey was amazed at the bridges that connected them. There were also so many people and yo-kai everywhere as well as a few Digimon and Pokemon everywhere. It really was a big city.

"Uhh, so why did you wanna come with me Dimmy?" asked the short-haired blond.

"Oh, I would have gone with anyone really I love to explore and I guess I really like cities. Plus I haven't really had the chance to talk with um… you." said the shadowy yo-kai.

"Yeah, you usually hang out with Daniel or the other yo-kai," said Zoey who realized her armor was really making her stand out in the crowd. Though the people here were sort of dressed in an odd way too at least to Zoey. They were wearing a fusion of modern clothing and older fashions in such a strange way. The city was filled with thousands of different colors and Zoey didn't even know half of them. Some people were dressed in armors from many different time periods blended with regular T-shirts, and pants. Yet then Zoey saw something better than any piece of clothing she could ever find in the city.

"Dimmy I think I found something," she said as she dragged the ninja with her pushing through the crowd to a little shop on the side of one of the enormous buildings. It looked like a pawn shop and a workshop. It had orange windows and looked like it was made of grey cement blocks. There was a wooden sign that read "Armor, Weapons, Timers, and more"

Dimmy said, "Oh the local blacksmithing shop, I am guessing, you wanna check out the armor and weapons."

Zoey said, "No," as she pulled out her phone, "I wanna all of us to get some upgrades." she then made the call to get the rest of her friends over there because they finally found a good place to get an upgrade and after the fight with those yo-kai hunting yo-kai hunters they really needed one.
