A/N: Strong Language.

It's been over three weeks, and for Theo, it's been one thing after another. Stomach pains in the night. Occasional vomiting, migranes at work. His skin is itchy and his joints are tense. Maybe it's his diet, or the lack of sleep. He squints as Brett points at his neck when he enters his office. "Frobisher hasn't got back to me yet"

"No problem. Raeken, you may wanna button up your shirt? You've got a rash and our new receptionist is making complaints"

"Bimbo!" Theo mutters buttoning up his shirt. He had to do what he was told. Brett Talbot, was his boss after all.

"What the hell's wrong with you? You used to be so pristine, now you look like shit!"

"All work and no play I guess"

"Of course. It's got nothing to do with dumping Mason's ass?"

"You can't dump a random fuck with benefits. Are we done?" Theo barks.

"Apologise, or get a new fuck buddy, you've looked like a freaking mess ever since. Now you can get out" Brett said waving him away.

Within that week, he'd went out and had a couple of one night stands. One was a female alpha. The other was were-coyote, called Nadia. That straddled him senseless. It was good, but she was a little too loud for his liking. At least Mason knew how to have a good time and keep his mouth shut. He wasn't surprised when she left her number under his pillow and kissed him on the mouth.

"So I'll see you at the club later?" She asks the next morning brushing her claws over his cheek.

"Yeah...um..."

"Nadia"

"I knew that. I'll definately see you later!" He says with more confidence than he felt. He smirks to himself as he showers and changes. Mason would hit the roof if he found out about this. He'd get all upset and emotional if he'd seen Nadia. His eyes would widen, maybe even fill with tears. And yet as Theo walked out and stared at his phone, he'd scan down friends messages and his parent's calls. It was always the lack of Mason that confused him. Since that argument at his apartment, Mason had disappeared off the face of the fucking planet...

Maybe something had happened? Liam could have it covered, however liam was a tornado of scatter-brained destruction. He had his own life too, he couldn't be available for Mason twenty four seven. Maybe it was time for a visit, you know, just in case...

Late one night, He goes to Mason's house. He scales the roof and finds a comfortable spot in a nearby tree. It gave him a great view of Mason's place. He was clearly home, and he can smell a familiar car parked across the street. He closes his eyes to focus, he can hear food being cooked and laughter.

Cool...he's obviously having a good time...

He leans foward to make his way down, when Mason's door springs open. As expected, None other than Scott McCall walks out. Typical. The smell of food overwhelms Theos senses. But it's silent outside so, he can listen to their goodbyes.

"So...do you think you'll actually merge with Brett's company?" Mason asks.

"I haven't a clue. Thanks for dinner, loved the tagliatelle!" Scott lies.

"Thanks, it was my first time cooking it so..."

"I'd...I'd like to return the favour sometime. How it's going at night? With the nightmares?" Scott asks, leaning in and stroking the side of Mason's head. It's a gentle gesture, filled with worry. Theo can see the concern in his face and he swallows a growl.

"Oh...they still happen, but...I this is gonna sound crazy, but I was advised to keep a night light on, and god...I can't believe I'm saying this out loud. The night light works, so I'm sticking to it! I know, I have surpassed all the levels of being the ultimate loser!"

"In this crazy town you do whatever you have to, to survive the night!" Scott chuckles. He reaches for his hand and strokes his fingers. "I'll call you went I get home?"

"Please, let me know you arrived home safely" Mason flashes that award winning smile. McCall waves goodbye. Clearly thinking he's got a shot.

He waits until he's driven away before the chimera climbs down the tree. He gets out his phone and checks himself out. He doesn't want to look like he just been hanging out in a tree, stalking someone. He timidly knocks on the door and clears his throat.

He needs to know the truth about McCall.

He smiles as Mason's opens the door.

"Mase, don't shut it okay? I haven't heard much from you"

Mason clutches his door and meets him with an icy stare.

"So...McCall. He's just after your ass. Probably to get at me, you know our history. If you think I was bad, McCall's gonna be worse. He'll hump and dump. Then go back to his usual brunettes. Don't give that douche the time of day, promise me!" Theo pushes.

"I'm sorry, do I know you?" Mason squints.

"For fuck's sake-"

Mason sharply slams the door in his face. Theo can't argue with that. He knows it's possible that he might deserve it?
