Chapter One

Deep breath in, deep breath out.
He allowed himself to relax; remaining tense would do nothing for him. He closed his eyes, attempting to feel a change in himself. He wanted this- no, he needed this- to be the last session. He sat, criss-cross, and dormant on the floor.
Breath in, breath out.
Ki flowed through him, but he didn't release it; he needed it, he assumed, to change; to get stronger. He began to feel restless, but he stayed still. He knew it would take concentration to activate the change.
Faygo was a Frost Demon- otherwise known as one of "Frieza's race". He hated the title; not all beings of the race were as evil as that damn monstrocity, but people seemed to assume they were...
Monster that he was, the fool was stronger than anyone else of the race. The emperor had managed to change his own form so many times it was painful to even think about.
That's where Faygo's conundrum started. He was forever curious about Frieza'a power- a sort of grudging respect. And an envious obsession.
Ever since he was young, he wanted to prove that the past of the race wouldn't mold him. He set out to become stronger, despite his small figure. He had the similar dome-like head of most Frost Demons, but, unlike most, it was almost pure black. He also had a small covering over his mouth, one that looked sort of like a grate. His dark gray eyes shone with confidence in not only his soon-to-be strength, but also his vast intelligence.
Small horns protruded from each side of his head, white, similar to most of his body. In fact, his entire body was black and white.
Faygo was born to fight, he was sure of it. His strategic battling skills shone, if not in his slightly mediocre body, in figure battles.
Ever since the Hero Coliseum opened up at his local university, he had managed to show up even the Dean. His figure collection was expansive, and he was known as "Z-Tier" by some of the higher-ups.
However, if he wanted to go to the Orange Star High School, he'd need a ton more than just his brains to pass. It was reserved for the most elite of the elite, so even if he got in because of his "Family Ties", he'd need to train more than anyone there to keep up with the competition.
The thoughts led him to think about his friends- or, that is, his summer friends.
When Faygo was younger, his parents found a business opportunity on the planet Earth, building an ultimate summer lodge near North City. It had everything- a pool area, camping spots, bonfire pits, and was situated neatly between a large pond and a forest.
The place was a smash hit, bringing in more than ten times the estimated profit, and every summer, it reopened, usually with something new; a swingset here, a new cabin there. It was rented out by families, young couples, friend groups, and scout troops.
Realizing he had broken his concentration, Faygo sighed in exasperation and layed on his bed. He thought a little bit more about his only real friends.
It was dark, and the young boy sat alone, watching the campfire die out. He dreaded the moment the embers dissapeared; he'd not only be by himself, but he'd be prey to the horrors of the dark.
His parents were busy- as usual- and, as an extra smack in the face, they asked his brother, Fanta, to help them. Faygo knew the elder boy didn't have a choice, but he still felt a little betrayed by his older brother.
He poked a stick into the cinders, like Fanta would do, rustling up the red and orange flames. He looked back to the forest behind him, seeing nothing but shadows and branches.
H-he couldn't get anymore firewood... the forest was terrifying.
A cool wind blew, and he shivered, wishing he was brave enough to go into those evil shadows, to be as big and strong as his brother was.
He just... wasn't, however.
A rustling caught his attention, and he averted his gaze to a small path leading into the forest.
"F-Fanta?" He asked weakly; who else could it be? The Frost Demon had no friends, no one that could keep him company right now besides himself.
He saw a glint of green, dark green, and his eyes grew wide. He stumbled back, but not enough before a pair of green hands grasped his shoulders.
"BOO!"
Faygo yelped, before stumbling over the log behind him and falling with a painful WHAP! onto the ground. He brought his hands up to his face in hope to protect him from whatever grabbed him (but, evidently let go) and to hide his tears, which began rolling down his face.
"Good job, you idiot. Now he's crying."
The voice was male, and authoritative. Faygo began to uncover his face, looking at the friendly voice.
Instead of one person, there was two, then three, and then four. Each was different- one was the green he had seen, one was pink, and two of them seemed to be human. All of them appeared to be the same age as him.
One of the humans, a feamle with brunette hair, helped him up.
"Ignore Maur," she said, motioning to the Namekian. "He's mean sometimes."
"I am not!" He growled, stomping forward in annoyance. "And for the last time, don't call me that! It's Mark!"
Faygo wiped his tears; the girl was almost the same height as him. She had, as aforementioned, brunette hair, twisted into a rough braid across her back; a few lucky tendrils made it in front of her ears. Her eyes were the same hazelnut color as her hair.
The Frost Demon took account all of the people around him- The human, the Namekian, the... other human? He looked like one; and the pink girl.
"W-Who are you all?"
"Oh! We should introduce ourselves!" The human girl said. "I'm Allysa! I'm gonna be the world's strongest model!" As she said this, she struck a pose, hand on her hip, winking at Faygo through a peace sign.
The Namekian stepped up. "Sorry about a minute ago; I'm Mark. I'm gonna be the world's strongest Stand-Up comedian!" He smiled, pulling up a fake microphone.
Next was the other "earthling". "I'm Kora. I'm a rare species known as a Saiyan; I'm gonna be the world's strongest Mixed Martial Artist." He made multiple punching and kicking motions, then crossed his arms triumphantly.
Faygo looked to the pink girl, expectant.
She scowled, turning. "You all are dumb. I'm Iya, born from the carnage after the defeat of Super Buu. I'm a Majin. Majin Iya."
The words hung in the air.
"C'mon, Iya, don't be so cold!" Allysa said, putting an arm around her.
The Majin shrugged it off. "I'm going to be the strongest. Period."
The other two boys chuckled, earning a powerful glare out of the girl.
Allysa turned to him, along with the other three. "What's your name?"
Faygo shifted nervously; so many people focusing on him made him nervous.
"I-I'm Faygo. A-a Frost D-demon." He looked down nervously.
"Well then, new bro," The Namekian put his arm around him. "We need a new pal to add to the group. How about it? Wanna be friends?"
He looked up; each of the others were staring at him- even Iya had lost a bit of aggravation in her eyes.
This blew him away. They wanted to be friends with him?
"Uh..." He wasn't sure what to say.
"Good to hear!" the Namekian laughed, patting him on the back.
From then on, the group were close friends, even if Faygo could only be around during the earthling summertime.
A light rapping found Faygo's door, breaking him out of his daydream.
"Come in!"
An orange head poked in before opening the door; Fanta, the elder of the duo.
"Hey, man. What ya doing?"
Faygo moved into a sitting position, leg crossed along the other. "Nothing; just sitting here."
"Uh-huh." Fanta looked near identical to Faygo, besides the black being replaced with a bright orange. He moved to the dresser, where dozens of figures were aligned neatly, picking up SSJSS Gogeta. "This must be your strongest one."
"No, actually. That's Legendary Super Saiyan Broly."
"Yikes. Dude's a brute. Remind me not to name my child Kakarot."
This earned a small chuckle out of the younger.
"Mail come in yet?" Faygo queried.
"Oh yeah, you got something;" the boy pulled a tan envelope out with a bright orange seal. "You've been accepted."
