A/N

Epilogue! Or, the version of this story but from Saiki's POV because I felt bad about how uninvolved he was this whole time...

Also, in writing this, I think I figured out why I omitted Saiki from the original outline so much: he is so difficult to write TTTT I did my best but oh boy did I have a time trying (I made it in the third person though because I could never write Saiki Kusuo's personality in the first person).

[During the first chapter]

Teruhashi-san mostly only thought about her beauty, her popularity, and Saiki's aggravating yet apparently attractive(?) disinterest. (He can read minds, but he certainly can't understand them.)

That being said, Teruhashi-san did occasionally have thoughts towards her siblings. That's why, when the youngest Teruhashi sibling barged into the classroom, Saiki wasn't surprised. While his classmates were freaking out (annoyingly loudly, by the way) about how Teruhashi-san, the angel on earth, had a younger sister, Saiki just sat there. He wasn't surprised at all.

Okay, so he was a little surprised.

But it was about something completely different. It wasn't that Nomi's existence surprised him, but her sudden appearance. He hadn't realized this girl was even by the doorway before Teruhashi-san called her out. So he was surprised.

Constantly hearing the flood of thoughts from every single human in a 200 meter radius meant that unless Saiki honed in on a single person, it all blended together. It was constant white noise in the back of his brain. And that meant that it was very, very easy for all those thoughts to go unnoticed, not fully processed because he never focused on them in the first place. So the fact that he had missed a single girl's train of thought as she made her way to the Year 2 Class 3 room wasn't concerning nor unusual.

Well, the fact that Teruhashi-san's little sister came to school was unusual, but the fact that Saiki had overlooked a random person's thoughts was not.

So, though Saiki was a bit (just a tiny bit!) surprised when Teruhashi-san's little sister unexpectedly appeared, he immediately went back to not caring. That is until he idly realized that he couldn't hear her thoughts.

That's...odd.

Nomi and the rest of the class were gathered behind him, in the back of the room. He could hear Kaido thinking about how to make his delusions stories sound as cool as possible. He could hear Teruhashi-san panicking about how this might affect her reputation. He could hear Hairo's constant (and way too energized) chants of motivation that he thought on loop. But there was a blank spot where Nomi was standing.

Wait, no.

If he focused a bit more, he could make out the whisperings of thoughts. Small and overpowered by the flood of thoughts around it. This was different than Saiki simply overlooking the thoughts because it all turns into white noise—this seemed more like the girl's thoughts were hiding from him. He wasn't sure how it would be possible, since thoughts don't have a will for themselves, but it was happening.

Feeling like he was being challenged, and also a bit intrigued, Saiki worked to hone in on the thoughts of Teruhashi-san's sister, Nomi. He found himself attempting to tune out everything else, grab hold of the elusive thoughts.
It felt like he was trying to snatch the oxygen out of the air. He knew it was there, knew that he had it in his hands, but he just couldn't see it. It was strange. He couldn't hear them, even when he listened for them.

He focused a bit harder to get inside the girl's head. As he dove, he felt himself push past some sort of barrier. Then, suddenly, Nomi's thoughts burst from their hiding place, taking over his mind at full volume.

...You might think that I'm used to being ignored due to always being next to my siblings. True, but the problem is deeper than that. You see, I'm simply an invisible person. The only reason why people even see me sometimes is that one of my siblings talk to me. It's not that I'm ugly. I have the same blue hair, pretty eyes, and overall attractiveness of both my sister and brother. I just don't have the golden glow. People notice the sunshine warmth of my siblings. I don't have that. However, just because I don't have a golden glow does not mean I don't have a glow at all. I can see it in the mirror, a more silver, white glow surrounds me. But it's subtle sometimes. It gets bigger when my siblings are near me but really can't compare to their bright warmth...

Good grief this girl was a chatterbox. Plus, she sounded almost as delusional as Kaido.

...You must understand. Kokomi is a sun. People love her, want her, seek out her light and heat. I am a moon. Just as pretty, but not nearly as noticeable. In fact, the world ignores me and wants to jump straight to Kokomi. They want to bathe in her light. They want to sleep and ignore me. Is my analogy clear enough yet?...

Yes, yes, I get it already. You think too much. Saiki thought, rolling his eyes to himself. Good grief. He regretted trying to listen to this girl's thoughts. As interesting as the idea of hidden thoughts had been, this turned out to be a very boring experience.

Huh? That pink-haired guy...he just spoke in my mind.

Saiki, who had been about to disconnect from Nomi's mind, blinked from shock. He hadn't meant to communicate telepathically...he must have gone deeper into her mind than he thought in order to see what she was thinking. Though, further than that, how did she even know that it was him that spoke into her mind? That shouldn't be possible.

He has psychic powers.

Are you reading my mind right now?

At a loss, the only thing Saiki could think to do was get out of the girl's head. So that's what he did, and the hurricane of everyone else's thoughts crashed back into him. But he didn't notice, not really, because he was too busy trying to logic his way through this new development. A single thought caused his heart to clench with a brief worry, the kind of panic he only ever feels when he thinks something is about to go horribly wrong for him.

That girl...Teruhashi Nomi, would she tell someone about his powers? What if she told her sister?

Good grief, Saiki thought, putting his books together to go home. Well, if Nomi told Kokomi, Kokomi likely wouldn't believe it, but just her having the idea in her head could be disastrous. He might have to use his memory-erase power again, though the "fill-in" memories are always really irritating to deal with afterwards.

This is seriously such an annoying hassle.

[during and right after chap 5? Kinda during 6?]

Good grief. Saiki could tell that Nomi was upset with him for how he was basically ignoring Teruhashi-san, but it's not like that was actually his problem. He didn't want them to sit at his table, where he had previously been blissfully alone. It was bothersome, too, when he ended up having to go after the middle-schooler when she ran away.

Teruhashi-san tried to go after her sister at first, but was stopped by the teacher. She explained the situation, which resulted in nearly every person in the bakery to volunteer to be a part of the search party. She declined the necessity of something so extreme, but they also all rejected when she said she could go out and search by herself, no one wanting to be left without her beauty for more than five minutes if they could help it.

So Teruhashi-san asked Saiki to do it. To his unending delight. He didn't understand why she asked him of all people.

And he couldn't even reject her, not with so many people expecting him to thank her for even breathing the same air.

So off he went.

It would have been fine if his normal telepathy worked with the girl (he could have located her in an instant in that case), but he still hadn't figured out why he had to focus so hard to hear her thoughts.

He walked to the nearby park, where Nomi had been before she crashed their field trip, and he stood there for a moment, wondering what to do.
And then Nomi appeared from behind a tree, crawling close to the ground. She was clutching a bar of chocolate.
It was relieving that it was so easy to find her, but Saiki thinks that it's safe to assume that she won't be willing to go back to the bakery with him, considering how much she looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here as she stared at him.

This is such a pain, thinks Saiki.

"Did my sister ask you to find me?" She asks, looking slightly embarrassed. Saiki was about to nod, but apparently he didn't even need to answer because Nomi just continued to talk. "Sorry, then, but it must have been cool to receive a personal request from her."

Not really. Not at all. Actually, my interactions with your sister are my own versions of nightmares.
But Saiki obviously can't say that. So he remains silent, sort of half-shrugging.
Nomi remained silent for a moment before squinting and asking, "Are you mute?"

That question brought about some slight confusion. Why on earth would she think he was mute? No one had ever thought that before.
He answered her to prove that he wasn't mute, but in the way he always communicates: telepathically, with some minor suggestions to her mind that his lips were moving.

Though, he supposed that talking in that way doesn't exactly prove that he's not mute. But it's a habit at this point, and she wouldn't know.

"You know everything, right?" She spoke again, looking a bit determined. Well, sure, but Saiki couldn't exactly admit to that. Instead, he looked at her questioningly.

"Huh?"

"You're a psychic, aren't you?" Nomi elaborated. Saiki wasn't sure how she could be so certain, but he'd dealt with stuff like this before. No problem. His "super confused" look has always done the trick.

Annoyingly, Nomi continued to insist on something she had no proof of. She seemed to think that Saiki should tell her something, but he honestly didn't really know what she was talking about. It was too much of a hassle to get into her head again just to figure out what she's talking about, and Saiki doubted that it would turn out good for him anyway.

Oh...she got angry. She gets upset easier than Saiki thought she would.

She turned to leave, but hesitated. But when she met his eyes, she seemed startled and dropped her chocolate. He watched her as she picked the chocolate bars up and rushed off. He was mildly concerned. No, not for her. But this girl somehow knew with absolute certainty that he had psychic powers, and this unsettled him. Nevermind how she knew, if she was angry with him, what if she went around telling people? It would be such a pain if he had to go around erasing dozens of memories, each filling in randomly.

Oh, Nomi left one of her chocolate bars. Saiki walked over and picked it up, thinking that he should toss it. It's just starting to soften from the sun, and staring at the wrapper, he remembers how many chocolate bars Nomi had held protectively in her arms as she ran away.

If he wanted to keep her from telling people, couldn't he just bribe her a little? She seemed to really like her chocolate. Plus he felt a little bad for making a middle schooler so upset.

[chap 9-10ish]

He wasn't quite sure how to get the chocolate to Nomi at first, and when days passed and Teruhashi-san remained none the wiser, Saiki relaxed. No bribe needed. It still bothered him that a random girl knew about his powers, but without knowing how she figured it out, he couldn't fix the problem. Plus, if she didn't tell anyone, then it didn't bother him much.

A few more weeks passed and Saiki had all but forgotten his interaction with Teruhashi Nomi. That is, until Kokomi came into school one day with stress and worry rolling out of her so thickly that it was visible. Her friends asked what the matter was, but she waved them off, thanking them but saying that it wasn't a big deal.

If the thoughts of all of his classmates were anything to go by, she was still just as beautiful. But everyone seemed very concerned. So concerned that every student also started having their own waves of worry and stress. Saiki knew what the problem was immediately thanks to his telepathy, and he was tempted to share what he knew just so the classroom's dark atmosphere would stop suffocating him.

But he wouldn't be able to explain how he knew that Nomi was "acting weird" and "seemed really sick," so he was forced to sit in the growing pit of worry that was this classroom.

This is such a pain. Saiki did NOT want to have to sit through this again tomorrow, so after the first class was over, he "went to the bathroom." After a quick teleportation to the convenience store, he appeared right outside of the Teruhashi residence, planning to drop off the chocolate bar somewhere Nomi would easily find it. X-Ray vision allowed him to see that Nomi was laying down in the entryway (?That's weird) so he teleported straight into the girl's room. He set the chocolate down on her desk, but instead of immediately teleporting back to school, he used clairvoyance to check on Teruhashi-san's little sister. Laying in the entryway like that is just too weird for him to ignore.

Well, she generally seemed fine. Breathing, anyway, and no injuries. Maybe she actually was sick. In that case, he doubted the chocolate bar would make her feel better. But he had hope that she would feel better tomorrow so that the classroom would stop looking like it was cursed.

He teleported back to school.

[chap 12]

Saiki was dragged to the BBQ place. It was the worst. Nearly every character was here and there was nothing he disliked more than being surrounded by such weird personalities.

Teruhashi-san's younger sister made an appearance again, looking profoundly less confident than she had looked when she had been shouting at Saiki after the bakery field trip. She barely even looked up from the floor. It was slightly concerning, actually.

Saiki didn't care about Randy Upwald or the AIA, though he had to admit that he didn't exactly stay the calmest when Mikoto just about outed him and his strength. His mind froze when everyone turned towards him, confused, and he couldn't think of a good way to play it off without seeming suspicious. Act like it was a joke, perhaps? But Mikoto had already revealed her discomfort and slight panic on her face, so maybe that'd be a bit hard to pull off…

It was luck, then, when Nendo stole the spotlight by literally ripping the door open. Everyone immediately forgot about Saiki, which was perfect and relieving.

Luck and Nendo don't often relate to each other, but Saiki had to be grateful to him this time.

[between chap 13 and 14]

"Saiki, I need to talk to you," Mikoto appeared in front of Saiki's desk, her glittering nails clacking against the wood as she leaned against it.

Saiki wanted to reject her but had a feeling she would start blabbering no matter what he said. He was proved correct when she started talking without him even replying at all.

"Teruhashi-san's little sister, erm, gosh, I don't remember her name. Well, whatever, anyway, she approached me the other day, or like yesterday, and told me that she's looking for a way to get rid of her psychic powers, so I said I would ask you about it."

Saiki blinked. Mikoto waved her hand as if brushing away concerns that he neither had nor voiced, but she seemed to think that he did.

"Don't worry, I didn't tell her about you. I said I would ask someone I know."

Saiki frowned thoughtfully. That Nomi girl has powers? That would explain how she knew about his psychic abilities, and maybe even why she hasn't told anyone yet. And if he thought about it, it could be that when she had gotten upset at him in the park all those weeks ago, it had been because Nomi had been hoping that he would help her through having powers.

Maybe.

Well, he had no obligation to help her, but honestly, Teruhashi-san's stress about her younger sister's mental condition has gotten so bad lately that the whole school was being affected. There was an anxious tension in the air, heavy enough to bring down the most energetic. The teachers were looking more exhausted than usual. Even Hairo had begun to feel dragged down, his constant motivating chants falling quiet before they even started.

It was all rather depressing, and kind of appalling how much power a single person had over the school.

Good grief. Saiki asked Mikoto what sort of powers Nomi had. Maybe he could figure out an inhibitor, like his own, for this girl.

Mikoto raised an eyebrow. "Ehh? You didn't already know about her powers?"

Saiki gave her a look, telling her to just get on with it already. Mikoto tapped her cheek, trying to remember the details of what Nomi had told her. "Uh, she said that when she looks at someone's face, or maybe it was just their eyes...well, when she looks, she'll suddenly know every secret that that person has ever had. Or maybe not every single one, but the big ones? Or maybe it really was every single one...man, that would be kind of crazy, though, right~?"
Mikoto paused for a moment before remembering something and continuing. "But apparently it really hurts her head when it happens. I told her that her powers were just immature and stuff, but she seems like she really wants it all to stop." She shrugged.

Saiki processed this. It explained a lot, but he wasn't sure if he could help her. If he knew about a way to get rid of his own powers, he would have used it long before now. Though, her powers seemed similar to his own telepathy, so maybe he did have something that would work. It would be a shame to lose his germanium ring, but he couldn't say that he used it often due to how much trouble not having his telepathy seemed to bring him.

He sighed, thinking this is such a pain, as he resigned himself to giving up the ring. Good grief. Well, if he ever needed to block his telepathy, he supposed he could somehow get more germanium.

Saiki told Mikoto that he did have something that would work, and that he would bring it tomorrow.

And that's a wrap! Hopefully, this was satisfying for you readers who asked for more Saiki.

I still can't believe that people actually read my story. I'm so sorry for being so slow at posting new chapters, but I can't thank you all enough for the follows, the favorites, the reviews, and most of all, the support!

I know my story got a little wonky and off-key, but I really really hope that despite the (many) flaws, this story was enjoyable to read. Because I know that I had fun writing and posting it :)
