Nick and Adalind's weird crossover Summer Vacation
Chapter five
Down by the river
...
They arrived at Bart and Alice's place to pick up Kelly. As the years have passed by everybody seems to have forgotten that Bart and Alice are Monroe's Bludbaden werewolf grandparents, not their own. They spend have spent the majority of holidays together for years. The Burkharts have spent far more time with "Grandma and Grandpa" than their own family has. Kelly started living with them years ago when the Portland one-room loft became way too small for a family and for all intents and purposes he's been their son ever since - the Grimm raised by Werewolves!
Alice scoops up the girls and they all head straight into the house to catch up.
Soon "the boys" come hiking back out of the woods to meet up with the family. The old men have been working with Kelly on his Wesen Council Bounty killing skills.
Catherine heads straight out for the guys and wants the old men to teach her knife work moves like they teach Kelly.
Adalind rolls her eyes *grumble* "Knife fighting isn't very ladylike"
Nick snickers. Both his mom and aunt Marie started off well before they were ten. "Honey, it'll be Ok. You, Catherine, and Diana are here. You guys can patch them up when they get cut."
Adalind smirks "When they get cut? Typical Dad."
Kelly runs over and pulls his shirt off "Hey Mom! Check this out!" It's another big wolf bite scar.
Adalind looks concerned "Where did you get that kiddo?"
He smiles "A wolf this past spring got me pretty good. And hey, look at these!"
Adalind is surprised by the huge gashes. "Kelly! What are those from? They're still fresh!"
Kelly smirks "A Windigo got me a couple days ago."
Bart smiles "The boy took care the Windigo bare handed. I tell you, this one is all Grimm."
Adalind rolls her eyes "Catherine. Can you come over here and fix up your brother."
Catherine comes over and smirks "Cool gashes!"
Kelly smiles "It was a Windigo. Got him with my bare hands."
Catherine puts her fingers into the cuts and closes them all up for him. Now she is jealous "Dad, can I go out with Bart and Kelly next time they go after a Wesen Council bounty?"
Nick smirks "Sure honey if it's OK with Grandpa."
Adalind rolls her eyes "Nick!"
Bart comes over "Hey Catherine, how about showing everybody what your grandmother's been teaching you."
Catherine smiles "Sure!"
Catherine and Kelly get into their fighting stances. Kelly lunges, Catherine grabs him, and he sits down "Hey! No fair! Catherine witched me!"
Bart smirks "Remember what I taught you! There is no such thing as 'no fair'. You gotta figure it out. That's what training is for. Ok, Catherine, that was a great move. Just remember to followup with a punch, kick, or knife immediately. Always press the advantage of surprise. You don't ever want to educate your opponent because now he knows you are a Hexenbiest and will witch him. It's going to be that much harder to witch him next time. Ok, let's try it again."
Catherine tries the same thing again but Kelly is ready and throws her. She flys back in, goes at him, and connects with a powerful punch that knocks him back ten feet.
Bart stops them again. He is proud of her using her powers in a smart way "Great move Catherine combining your telepathic powers with your punches to hit harder. I can tell your grandma has been training you. That's a great move if you are trying to escape like if a big guy is trying to get claws or teeth into you. Once again, what are you going to do next - he's ten feet away. He knows you're a Hexenbiest and are probably going to blast him again. A smart opponent will probably run and now he's got a head start. Or at least he'll be a lot more wary about letting you connect with a punch. Big guys generally aren't concerned about women hitting them, so they'll always let their guard down. He's also far enough away now to pull a gun on you. Try grabbing ahold or witching them like you did and punching him while he goes down or get him on the ground and then hammer into him like that. Remember, never let an opponent figure out you're a Hexenbiest till it's way too late."
Catherine is smiling a big smile. Kelly is grumbling because she has a huge unfair advantage with her witch powers and he doesn't have any Hexenbiests to train with.
...
The next day they head out to one of the local rivers to have a day of beach fun out on a sandbar.
Kelly brings his girlfriend Cindy, a beautiful blonde haired Klaustreich. Everybody is having a great time. Soon another family shows up with kids their age and everybody is having a good time together.
Nick and Adalind pull Diana and Catherine aside "Now remember, no witching boys, and no fighting. Catherine, that means you. Understand?"
Catherine rolls her eyes "Ok, sure."
It doesn't take long and Catherine has a handsome blonde haired young man about three years older than her following her around like a puppy dog. Nick scowls but Adalind smiles remembering back when she was younger having her fun with boys "It'll be fine. Let her have her fun."
A few hours later Nick is sitting at the campfire with Adalind cuddled up next to him watching the kids enjoy summer and he finds himself getting sad thinking it will soon be over. Diana is leaving soon. Kelly is starting his senior year in the fall in Vermont. Catherine will be back with his Mom and Chuck goes back to Elizabeth.
Adalind can feel his sadness, so she leans in and gives him a little dose of witching to cheer him up, and of course she takes full advantage of this opportunity to get her hands on him while the kids are busy.
