At the first lights of dawn, Asami Sato stepped out of her car parked in the construction site. And as she walked towards her mobile office, she smelled a comforting aroma of wet dirt, while her neck and cheeks were met by a cool breeze.

The project in which she had been working on in the last few months was part of the expansion plans proposed by president Moon, the job was hard and needed to be completed fast.

She was always the first one to arrive, and the last one to leave the workspace. A habit adopted from her father.

Punctuality was important for Hiroshi Sato, and he would make sure everyone knew it, especially his daughter.

"Employees can never see their boss slacking off... as heads of the company, we have to lead, and the way to do it is by setting up the example".

She would repeat those words on her head every morning, not to remind herself to be a good leader, but to remember her father's memory.

Lately, she had been thinking about what would've happened if she had visited her father earlier. She admitted that she was furious for what he had done, but now she blamed herself for not forgiving him earlier, nor even talk to him at all. The years her father spent in prison; she practically had ignored his existence.

Now she was the last member of her small family. Now, she was the daughter of not one, but two parents who had been killed in cold blood.

Often, she would scheme through her memories with her parents, like the time her dad taught her how to drive, or her first months working on the company under his apprenticeship.

Although the memories with her seemed distant, she would sometimes have black flashes of the hot summer walks with her mother around the Sato state. The memory of Ms. Sato had been fading with the pass of the years, Asami now feared that there would be a day in which she wouldn't remember her at all. The hardest part now, was not being able to remember her voice anymore…

Over last few months, Asami had been Seemingly thoughtful to her employees, and had been consumed by long and tedious days of work. Now, her days were routinely divided into work, and sleep. She had almost no time for herself, or anything else. But the work had to be done, and working was a good way to escape from her own thoughts.

When she walked into the office, she immediately rolled her eyes after seeing the enormous pile of paperwork waiting at her desk.

After a couple of hours of uninteresting paperwork, a small, bulky figure entered the office.

"Good morning Ms. Sato!"

"Good morning Kisume" Asami said with a welcoming smile. Kisume had been Asami's assistant for a couple of months now, so far, she had been nothing than excellent, and Asami enjoyed her company as well.

What Kisume lacked in height, she compensated with attitude and energy. Asami had her bring tea from her favorite place, a business owned by a family of sand benders, and their tea was stronger than any other in republic city. Asami could pick the tea by herself on her way to work, but she liked the interactions she had with Kisume every morning.

"Here is your morning tea Ms. Sato." Kisume's big hazel eyes scrutinized Asami from hair to toes…

"Ms. Sato, are you ok? Did you have fun last night?"

Asami gave her a questioning look while sipping from her tea. It was piping hot, just as she liked it.

"Ms. Sato, you know you're wearing the same clothes as yesterday right?"

Asami laughed nervously while looking down at her clothes.

"Yeah, you see, I'm trying to save some water…"

"I can't believe that after all these weeks you haven't lost your sense of humor Ms. Sato"

"Thanks' Kisume, I appreciate the love"

"No problem''

"So, what do we have in our agenda for today?"

"Well, aside from the obvious…." Kisume glanced at the enormous pile of paperwork at Asami's desk.

"Luckily for us Ms. Sato, we're only receiving the platinum shipment that we've been expecting. Other than that, there's really nothing worth nothing…." Said Kisume while looking at her notebook.

"is that really all?"

"Well, company related yes…" Kisume made a pause. "Today is the trail, president Moon, and the city council would be present. And as you know, they requested your attendance." Kisume lifted her eyebrows to see Asami's reaction to what she just said, but Asami resumed the writing.

"Kisume, would you be so kind to hand me those forms?" Asami pointed to a couple sheets of paper laying on the floor next to Kisume. "And by the way, could you tell the insurance company that I want to renew our contract? I was reading it last night, and we definitely don't need coverage for badger moles…"

"You got it Ms. Sato…"

At Avatar Korra's park, Bolin and Korra were walking towards the city hall, Korra was eating a skewer from a street vendor, enjoying every bite of it.

"I can't believe I didn't eat meet for a lifetime" said Korra while giving her skewers a couple of last bites before throwing the stick to a trash can.

"Me neither, you really seem to enjoy the seal meat. Talking about your past lives, which one do you think you have more similarities with?

"First of all, it was octopus, I think. And, I guess I have more of Kyoshi, at least for what I know."

"Well first of all, that thing looked more like makos dirty socks than It did to octopus. And second, Why? You still haven't created your own island"

"Well, now that you say it, I think it's a pretty good idea. I would create my own island and name it… Nagasailand"

Bolin laughed following a small pause.

"So how are things going on with you and Asami?"

"Pretty good, but she has been busy lately though, the city expansion projects have taken away much of her time lately. But other than that, everything is good"

"I see, I mean, you both are very busy people."

"Yeah but my work is my lifestyle, I'm the Avatar. On the other hand, Asami is not one who enjoys long hours of office work, she's not really the workaholic type. But Lately, it looks like she is obsessed with her work. When she gets to the apartment, it seems as if something had sucked the life out her and goes straight to bed. Yesterday as soon as she got home, she went straight to bed, and I think she didn't even change her clothes today…"

"I see… have you guys talk about it?"

"Not really, I mean, the project is not going to last forever, and after everything is finished, I want to take her to Ember Island, I've heard its beautiful..."

Korra knew that the loss of her father had affected Asami in a silent and painful way, but Asami was keeping it for herself. She felt that Asami needed more time to process the loss, and then she would open to her, but so far, Asami had remined silent about everything.

"Asami is like the brains of the most amazing team in the world, the team Avatar. I'm sure she has everything under control…"

"Exactly… by the way, how's mako?"

"Oh well, he's been babysitting Wu, so…"

Korra laughed at the fact that someone like Mako had to spend all that time with someone like Wu.

"I guess he's having a good time"

"Well, last week he went out to buy himself a couple of new outfits, which he's been wearing every time he goes out with Wu, and I'm not entirely sure if he bought them because Wu told him to, or because he actually likes them."

"Wait, so you're telling me that now Mako has a sense of fashion? Well I guess all that time with Wu has made its effects"

"Next time he may cut his hair same's as Wu"

"And then what, weekly manicures, and hair salon by himself?"

"Yeah maybe you and Asami can go in a double date with them to the spa"

"Bolin, that's the worst idea you've ever had, there's no way Asami and I are going out with Wu."

"Oh, I'm sorry" Bolin scratched his head out of embarrassment

"Don't worry silly, all four of us need to go together, team avatar needs to have a peaceful reunion at last…"

"To the spa?"

"Precisely"

"Now that you mention it, when was the last time we all went out" Bolin fixed his gaze to the capitol where there was a mob waiting for something. "Anyway, I know of someone who's not going out any time soon…"

The mob was being contained by police officers on both sides of the street, blocking traffic with barricades. The amount of security that chief Beifong had set up for the place was unprecedent. There were officers on the roof, and airships circulating the area. This was the first time Republic city had seen this amount of people gather for a trail.

As soon as Korra and Bolin got closer, two officers approached them and walked them through the enormous mass of people. Korra's presence was instantly noted and people started to gather around her. Two officers turned into four, and by the time Korra and Bolin had crossed the street, there were six officers escorting them.

Both walked up the stairs and joined chief Beifong and Tenzin. Korra didnt noticed it, but several air benders were vigilant on top of neighboring buildings. No one was taking any risks; this was the first time she had been out since she surrendered.

"What's with all the security chief?" Korra asked

"What's with the security Korra? This woman herself is the most dangerous prisoner we've ever had in Republic city. I know for a fact that you're well aware of what she's capable of…" Said with a defiant look.

"It's nice to see you too, chief" Korra said sarcastically. "I never expected this much people would show up, plus, is dangerous for them to be here, if she or any sympathizer tries something, civilians would be very vulnerable…" Korra sighed when she noticed that the mob was getting bigger by the minute.

"They have a reason to be here, Korra." Tenzin replied, "She devastated Republic city, many people lost their homes, and several members of the united forces deceased thanks to her attack on the battleships".

"Not to mention, she's a ruthless dictator who needs to face justice"

"Su?" Lin asked, "I thought you weren't coming"

"It's my duty to be here she's, after all, a citizen of Zaofu."

"And your apprentice" remarked her sister.

"Former" Su answered.

As they kept talking, they walked inside the building and up to the stairs until getting to the balcony. Then, the group devised a caravan of police cars approaching to the capitol, they had an armored shell and cab, all of them made entirely of titanium.

"So that's what Asami and Barrick were working on last month" Said Korra.

"It was very expensive to build them, but I believe we're going to make a good use out of them from now on. They can withstand high temperatures and lighting" Lin was always excited to equip the police with the newest technology.

"Sweet" said Korra

When the caravan parked in front of the palace, officers build up a perimeter around it with Platinum barricades and cleared the way for her entrance. It was hard to hold the angry mob back, it was the rage of a city who had been almost eradicated, but the officers managed themselves to do so.

She stepped out of the truck, escorted by white lotus agents, hands cuffed with titanium as well as her feet, both hair and head down, and she was wearing some raged robes. When she started to walk towards the building, people energy increased, and they started to throw everything at her.

Insults of every kind were said, but there was a sentence that was yelled by the mob sarcastically; "ALL HAIL THE GREAT UNITER".

The mob was furious, and there was only so much the officers could do to hold them back.

When people started to throw at her rotten eggs, tomatoes, and pretty much anything they had with themselves, Korra thought the White Lotus agents or the officers were going to stop them, but they didn't. They were allowing people to discharge everything they had on the woman who was guilty of the devastation of the city, the reason of their anxiety and frustration was in front of them. This was going to be the last time they had a chance to show The Great Uniter what they thought of her.

Korra couldn't help it but to feel sorry for the woman in the dragged robes, she looked not just defeated, hopeless and embarrassed, but lost. Kuvira's body language didn't seem like someone who had been in jail for 30 days, but it looked as if she had been 30 years instead. Korra instantly recognized the way she was not even walking but dragging her feet.

But when Kuvira lifted her face, Korra recognized the look on her eyes, she had seen them before. They were the same eyes she had foreseen at the mirror in that small, dirty, and decadently bathroom years ago.

She frowned and launched herself from the balcony to were Kuvira was, landing right in front of her using her air bending. People suddenly stopped throwing things, and then Korra spoke:

"EVERYONE PLEASE! I UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATION BUT SHES A HUMAN BEIGN, THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO THINGS! PLEASE, DOING THIS IS NOT GOING TO SOLVE ANY OF THE PROBLEMS WE'RE CURRENTLY FACING AS A CITY! AS THE AVATAR I BEG YOU, STOP THIS MADDNES!"

Every soul who heard the Avatar words stopped, most of them were shocked of the avatar request, but they came into reason fast enough anyway. It didn't matter how hard they could throw stuff at her, none of that was going to give them back their homes or their business anyway. So, they stopped throwing things at her but the insults didn't stopped.

Kuvira lifted her chin but didn't turned to face Korra, but Korra was looking directly at Kuvira's eyes.

Kuvira held her face expressions like the perfect soldier she was, but disguising among egg whites and rotten vegetables juices, the tears dropping from her eyes were not lying, she was devastated. Korra was the only one who saw this and bite her lip while stepping out of the way so the White Lotus agents could escort her inside.
