a/n: hey guys, first story timer here. hope you like this and I hope it's something different that surprises and excites you when you read. also, this has no specific set time within the series. however, it is quite sometime after season four, and rojas is present. I may end up using storylines from season seven, but I doubt it. also I hope to update this story on somewhat a regular basis, but I'm such a slow writer and I can't guarantee anything.
I appreciate any reviews and suggestions regarding the editing or storyline. definitely know how I'm going to work this plot, but I still would like some input on how easy it is to read or what you want to see in the story.
I don't own anything pertaining the storyline/plot that is relevant to the actual series. this is all for fun.

Prologue
The lights were so bright they were glaring. Kim's wrist was hurting from the handcuff bearing on her skin. She was freezing in the room, only wearing a tight black dress. She turned her attention to the mirror across the room and smirked towards herself, because she knew, five feet from her, someone was watching her. She began to twirl her curled hair, taunting the person watching her. She had been in this room too much to not be familiar with it. Yet it seemed all foreign to her, because she has never been on the other side of the action. Nevertheless, she was still in control. She still had information, knowledge that they needed. She still had the power, and she knows she won't break.
The sound of the door opening interrupted her thoughts.
Two men walked in and closed the door. Two men that were at one time close to her. They were practically her family. Now, they seem as though they are nothing but strangers. No, less than strangers. The two men being Kim's former coworkers Adam and Voight. Voight walked in with a case file and Adam followed behind with something small in his fist. Adam went to uncuff her, but Voight pulled him back and motioned for him to sit down in front of Kim. Adam turned back with almost a saddened look on his face but reluctantly obeyed as Voight leaned against the wall behind Adam.
All Kim could do was chuckle at the situation she was in. Months prior, she would've been on the other side of the table. She would've been on the same side as Adam and Voight and the rest of the team. But time passes, shit happens, and people change. And Kim was someone that changed.
Adam looked at Kim, perplexed. He look like he'd seen a ghost. Maybe he has with how different Kim looked to him. Voight let out a gruff, almost as a warning to Kim to stop taunting them. To which Kim continued laughing, this time louder, more obnoxious. On the outside, Kim was showing off to be calm, cool, and collected. But on the inside, she was hard. She had laser-sharp focus and couldn't deter from that focus for even a second. Because if anyone were to pull the answers, the truth from Kim, it would be Adam. And unfortunately for her, that man was two feet away from her. She didn't want to tell them the truth. She knew she couldn't let that happen.
"I wouldn't be laughing if I was you, Kim." Voight clenched his jaw and talked through the grit of his teeth. He was tired of this bullshit. He wanted to know what was really going on. His comment only made Kim laugh harder and roll her eyes, which angered Voight more. He was about to walk towards Kim and get in her face. Even though she used to work with him, it seemed as he didn't even know her anymore. She was completely different.
Adam could feel the tension between the two, so he tried to diffuse the situation. He stood up and turned around to stop Voight from lunging at Kim.
"Boss, no."
Adam muscled Voight enough to keep him from getting to Kim. He was just as angry as his boss was, but he couldn't show it. Adam knew that yelling wasn't going to get through to Kim.
Seeing Voight almost come at her surprised Kim. She never expected him to ever be that frustrated with her. She never expected to be in the situation she was in right now. However, she knew she still had the upper hand. She knew what they didn't. And she wasn't going to tell. So she kept smirking at the two men.
"Why don't you tell us what you've been up to while you've been gone?"
Voight backed up to the wall he was previously leaning on and crossed his arms across his chest. He glared at Kim while Adam began placing pictures in front of her.
How was she going to get out of this?
