Chapter 4:

Rachel laying on the floor, found just enough strength to position her head over the toilet. She heaved for almost ten minutes and waited for another five until she knew it was over to exit the restroom.

Mr. Schue waiting for fifteen minutes now growing more and more impatient, as he became incredibly concerned for Rachel.

When Rachel finally exited, she was so out of it that she didn't realized her glee coach was standing there, having a concerned look painted across his face.

Walking away; Mr. Schue lightly grabbed Rachels arm, startling the weak girl. "I think it's time you come with me to my office" he gently spoke.

With no fight left in her, she just nodded her head and began to follow Mr. Schue. After using all of her strength throwing up in the bathroom, she found it difficult to walk.

Mr. Schue realized the situation unfolding in front of him and wrapped his arm around her small frame, supporting the majority of her weight throughout the halls of McKinley high school until they reached his office.

His office contained his desk, a few chairs, and a large couch extended across the walls. As she entered through the doorframe, whatever weight she was supporting on her own completely gave out, and she nearly collapsed onto the floor with her teacher catching her just in time.

He scooped her up and placed her on the large couch, covering her up with the white fluffy throw blanket that was draped across. Immediately, Rachel was out cold, curled up into a ball. Luckily, Mr. Schue had some medical training required for every teacher and therefore knew the warning signs if serious events were to unfold.

Once again, he gently brazed the back of his hand against her forehead and didn't understand how she did not have a fever. Her forehead seemed to be even warmer than before, and he needed to see this proof for himself.

Turning the light to his office off, he made his way to the nurse's office in order to have the nurse re-check her temperature, along with providing her with some medicine for relief.

To his surprise, the nurse was out for the day and they couldn't find a replacement in time. Slightly surprised that Rachel would lie to him by saying she went to the nurse earlier on, he understood that she was just trying to do the best she could to prepare for regionals.

Searching through the cabinets of the nurse's office, he managed to find Tylenol and a thermometer. He brought them back to his office along with a bottle of water that he snagged from the teachers lounge.

When he made it back to his office, Rachel was still fast asleep on the couch and shivering like crazy. He positioned her so she was sitting upward, and grabbed his jacket off of his chair, wrapping it around her cold body, and then wrapping the blanket again around her.

This motion slowly jarred her awake, and she began to cover her mouth indicating that she was going to hurl. In one swift motion, Mr. Schue grabbed the trash can sitting next to the door and positioned her head over it.

Rachel threw up for a couple of minutes wondering how she had anything left to throw up.

Mr. Schue sat next to her rubbing small circles around her back to sooth her, as she began to become extremely worked up.

All Rachel could say was "I'm… sss..ooo. Sorr..yyyy Mr. Schue, I shouldn't… have… li..ed… to you about gggoing to the n…urse" as she quivered the words out.

Mr. Schue just gave a warm smile and said "Its ok Rachel, I know how important glee is to you, but I just want you to know that you never need to lie to me. Your health always comes first, and no matter what I am always here to help. I will never be upset with you. You are just lucky I saw you going into the bathroom when I did."

"Than...kk… you" she exclaimed, as she collapsed back into a fetal position and drifted off into sleep.

Rather then Mr. Schue waking her up, he decided it was best to let her sleep and took her temperature to access how bad the situation was.
