Chapter 7:

Mr. Schuester knows that Rachel will call if any unforeseen events begin to occur and starts to head to his classroom. He knows that he will have to cancel glee club for the day, which worries him because regionals are in a week. He has well prepared his students and knows that canceling glee is the best if he wants to care for Rachel.

Most of the glee students were in his 5th period, so he was able to pull them aside at the beginning of the class to inform them that glee would be canceled. When they all surrounded his desk, he said "Rachel came to school incredibly sick today, and since her dad's are not in town, I am watching over her… I know regionals is Saturday, but I am going to have to cancel glee for the day."

Luckily the club had already picked their setlist, and even began practicing the songs for the competition. This made them more prepared then previous competitions that they had attended, making the canceled rehearsal ok.

The glee students all appeared incredibly alarmed that Rachel Berry was sick. She is never Ill and would never voluntarily miss a glee club rehearsal.

As if they all spoke in harmony, they all started practically screaming at Mr. Schue saying, "Oh my gosh is she going to be ok? Rachel has never missed a day of glee in her life!"

Trying to ease the students, Mr. Schue ensured them that she was taking good care of her, and would update them if anything serious was to happen.

He began the lesson, but all he could think about for the next fifty minutes was if Rachel was doing ok in his office.

When the bell rang indicating that class was over, Mr. Schue bolted down the hall to check on his sick student. When he walked in, Rachel was still curled up and peacefully sleeping on the large sofa.

Rather relieved that she was doing well, he grabbed the thermometer once more. This time the thermometer read 102.9. Rachel was finally doing better, and although she has never looked worse, he knew that things were finally starting to become under control.

Since Mr. Schue only had eight minutes to check on Rachel, he quickly had to return to his class for the start of 6th period. The class was a rather quiet one, and he felt more comfortable knowing that Rachel was peacefully sleeping in his office. He taught his lesson, and once again checked on Rachel before heading back to his last class of the day.

Rachel was still sound asleep, and as he checked her temperature, her fever remained stable. Confident that his student would remain ok, he went back to his classroom and his last set of students appeared.

About twenty minutes into the class, Rachel woke up from her very long sleep. This time when she woke up, everything seemed to have gone south.

She was sweating bullets, yet her brittle body was freezing cold. She began to throw up, this time making it into the garbage by the slightest bit. Her face was even paler than before, and her lips contained a blue tint to them. Something was seriously wrong.

Holding true to her promise, she called Mr. Schue's classroom, using the school phone that he left next to the couch.

"Ring ring… ring ring" it was Mr. Schuester's worst nightmare and the phone call he had been dreading.

He sprinted across the room, fumbling to grab the phone. "RACHEL! CAN YOU HEAR ME?" he screams in a panic into the phone.

All he can hear on the other end is the sound of Rachel crying in pain and vomiting into the trashcan beside her… then silence.

Luckily the teacher next to his classroom was on break, and he already informed her that she might have to take over his class. She ran in, and the teacher nodded her head as she began to sub for his classroom.

Mr. Schue ran down the hall into his office, to find Rachel lying on the floor passed out cold.
