Chapter 1
Disclaimer: I don't own the Loud house
Thursday afternoon in the Loud house, Lincoln was in his room blankly flipping through the pages of his comic book. All of the sudden, Lynn bursted through his door. "Hey Lincoln!"
"Hey Lynn," Lincoln replied almost listless.
"C'mon, it's go time!"
"For what?"
"For you to be my sparring partner," Lynn said, showing her brother boxing gloves.
"I don't know if I'm up for it this time," Lincoln flatly told the athlete.
"Oh come on. At least 10 minutes," Lynn begged.
He sighed, "Fine, let's go."
Outside in the backyard, the siblings had their boxing gear on and practiced. Lynn was really going at on offense, throwing all sorts of punches and kicks. Lincoln on the other hand, played defense…or supposedly is. He was pretty much distracted, and mainly dodged his opponent's attacks and delivered late punches.
Lynn seemed to notice. "Uh bro, are you even trying?"
Lincoln shrugged, "Yeah, I"m bringing it."
Lynn dodged a punch and delivered a swift kick to Her opponent as he went down. Lincoln groaned as she helped him up. "Alright that's enough. Head inside if you want, I'll stay out here."
Lincoln did what she suggested and went inside the kitchen to get himself some water. Next he went into the bathroom, and washed his face. In the process, it looked like he was trying to clear his mind. After that, while sitting on a chair, Luan popped out of nowhere.
"Hey Lincoln, how does the furniture let you know what's up…by saying 'I have something to chair with you'," she laughed at her joke. Lincoln didn't respond much other than giving her a blank stare. Luan frowned and tried again by pointing to the ceiling light, "Aw come on, lighten up, will ya?" she laughed once more, but again, the latter didn't react at all. Luan was a mix of frustration and concern, "Okay, what gives, Linc? You haven't done anything."
Lincoln sighed, "Sorry Luan, I'm just not in the mood right now." He gets up and leaves to go upstairs leaving his comedic sister wondering with concern. As Lincoln reached the top, he runs into-
"Lincoln," Lucy startled him, jumping in fright. "I need your help on a poem. What's word that rhymes with pain.
Lincoln unemotionally tells the goth, "Umm…try drain, rain, insane."
"Hmm…those might work," Lucy considered writing down the rhyming word, "Thanks."
Lincoln shrugged, "Sure." He sighs and leaves to his room.
Lucy reads her finished poem.
One of my own, looked to be in pain
All of his emotions are down the drain
I fear for for my brother,
a future full of doom
Now I must ask, why so gloom?
Lucy finished reading, looked at Lincoln's room. "Sigh. Why, big brother?" she asked herself.
Lincoln at the moment, was sitting on his bed when Lola suddenly barged in. Lincoln flatly greeted, "Hey Lolaaaaa!" he exclaimed as his little sister dragged him by the arm, out of his room.
Lola brought him into her and Lana's room. "Lincoln, play tea party with me," she told him.
Suddenly, Lana grabs Lincoln's arm, "Barf! Lincoln, come outside and make mud pies with me," and started dragging him towards the exit.
But Lola wasn't about to go down without a fight and grabs his other arm. "No way! Beauty before age!"
"Oh, then I guess I should play with him, first," Lana taunted as the twins pulled their brother's arms.
"Tea party!"
"Mud pies!"
"Tea party!"
"Mud pies!"
Finally, Lincoln managed to pull away from both girls. "Girls. Ugh, sorry, but I'm not up for playing with either of you right now." He leaves the twins' room, leaving both girls looking at each other, concerned about their brother.
As Lincoln leaves the twins' room, he hears a small cooing sound. He looks down to see his baby sister, Lily looking worried. "Inkin sad?"
Lincoln picks her up, "Oh, don't worry, Lily. I think your big brother is just a little tired." He carries the baby to her and Lisa's room, and sets Lily down in her crib. "Here you go, little sis." Lincoln turned around and lets out a heavy sigh
"Greetings, male sibling unit," said Lisa right beside him. "I detect you're troubled about something?"
"What made you think that, Lisa?" Lincoln asked.
"You were emitting a rather large breath of dejection. Street name: sighing."
"Oh, well I'm fine," Lincoln tried to sound reassuring.
But of course, Lisa wasn't falling for it. "Your uncomfortable expression suggests otherwise."
Before walking out of the room, Lincoln told her, "I'm fine, Lis. Really."
The white haired boy exited the room just as Leni came up to him. "Lincoln, I need your help," she drags him by the arm into the bathroom.
"Leni, what am I doing here?" Lincoln asked, confused.
Leni explained, "I bought this new eyeliner at the Mall, but my hands are so shaky, I'm scared of poking my eyes," She showed her quivering hand, "Since you can apply make up for Lola, can you help me? Pretty please?" Leni begged her little brother.
"Maybe another time," Lincoln listlessly denied the request, "Ask Lori."
He started to leave just as Leni expressed concern. "What's wrong, Linky?"
"Nothing, Leni."
"Are you sure, Lincoln?" Lori asked as she entered the scene.
"Yes, Lori. I'm fine," Lincoln replied with slight annoyance, "I just need to lie down." He leaves the bathroom shortly afterwards. Like with the other sisters, the two oldest girls were concerned about their only brother.
Lincoln walked down the hall when Luna popped out her room with her signature purple guitar in hand. "Hey bro! Wanna have a little jam sesh?" she asked, making a 'hang loose' sign with her hand.
He sighed, "Thanks, but no thanks, Luna."
The rocker sister got concerned at the way he responded, "Why the blues, dude?"
Lincoln shrugged at her, "Just feeling off, I guess." He walks past Luna, remaining the concerned look on her face.
Lincoln goes inside his room and closes the door. Then he lets out another heavy sigh and lays on his bed with his thoughts. What's wrong with me?
