Chapter 10:

A few hours pass by, and all paperwork along with approval of Mr. Schue watching Rachel has gone through without a problem.

Rachel has been sleeping throughout this time, calming down from the breakdown she had earlier on. Suddenly, she begins tossing and turning and screams cries for help. The doctors rush in to see what is going on, only to realize it's a bad dream.

"Help me! I cant…. I cant breathe" the pale girl cries out.

"Rachel, wake up… It's just a bad dream, you are ok!" the doctors try to sooth, but she won't awaken from the nightmare occurring within her conscious.

Luckily Mr. Schue walks in a few seconds later. "WHAT IS GOING ON? I thought you said she was ok." He cries out.

Rachels vitals begin to spike, her heartrate increasing from her dream the doctors can't seem to get her out of.

"With high fevers like Rachel's, nightmares are extremely common. Right now all we can do for her is let it pass; then you are free to take her home." The doctor explains.

Watching his poor student in agony wasn't an option for Mr. Schue. He walks over to Rachel and sits down on the bed next to her. Gently he begins rubbing his hand over her arm and begins to sing "Don't stop Believing," knowing how much that song means to Rachel.

Rachel slowly stirs back into consciousness, and stares at her teacher, clearly in a state of panic. Mr. Schue continues to quietly sing, and eventually is able to completely calm Rachel down.

Once Rachel is fully vigilant, her hatred of hospitals begins to kick back in, and she uses all of her strength to pull herself out of the bed.

The doctors roll a wheelchair in the room to bring the sick girl to her teachers' car, but being her stubborn self, she protests any help offered.

After making it about five steps, she begins to collapse to the floor and was luckily caught by Mr. Schue who was standing close by.

"I can walk myself!" She exclaims. Seconds later she is lifted by her teacher and placed into a wheelchair.

"You have two options here… One; let the doctor wheel you out to my car, and we can go to the comfort of a home. Or two, you try to walk yourself out, and I make you stay here for however many nights they feel necessary." Mr. Schue says more sternly, knowing Rachel is not in any condition to walk on her own.

"One" Rachel mumbles.

This brings a smile to his face, knowing that the normal Rachel is present enough to put up a protest.

"I will be right back Rachel; I'm going to go get the car, while you get wheeled to the front of the hospital."

Rachel just nods her head, exhaustion overcoming her once more.

Mr. Schue quickly makes his way to the car and pulls it up front. He leaves Rachels seat in the reclined position that it consisted of earlier on.

Once he is there, Rachel is already waiting in the wheelchair to be transferred.

Knowing she can't stand, the doctor goes to lift the light girl into the car, only to be pushed away by a terrified looking teen.

"Don't… Don't touch me" She cries out.

Mr. Schue knows Rachel does not trust others quickly, so he hops out to lift her into the car himself.

Rachel instantly calms down by the help of her teacher, and slowly wraps her arms around his neck, as he transfers her to the seat bridal style.

Even though it wasn't freezing outside, due to Rachel's condition, Mr. Schue already had the heat running, as well as the white throw blanket from his office.

He laid her down in the seat, strapped her in, and pulled the blanket across her. Instantly her eyes drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

As Mr. Schue drove out of the hospital parking lot, and to his apartment; he assumed Rachel was fast asleep. He heard a quiet noise.

"Thank you Mr. Schue... for everything." Rachel whispered, still with her eyes shut.

A smile swept across his face. "I will always be there for you Rachel, no matter what." He softly replied.

Authors note: Another chapter completed! Sorry the hospital scene was so long, but once again I really wanted to show the connection between Rachel and Mr. Schue. Stay tuned, because the story is not yet over! Once again, thanks for reading and please leave a review :)
