Chapter 1: To Remember
They say, that when someone drowns, they have a moment of peace.
That's what his dad said to Izuku one time. From that day, he always wondered how that feel. Don't get him wrong, he doesn't want to die. He doesn't want to be under water, a rope sinking with him.
He knows that he doesn't want to die age 10.
His dad, Hisashi Midoriya, is a sailor and many times he took his son with him into the sea with his crew.
Izuku loves the sea. The freedom that let him feel, the smell of the salt water, the fishes swimming in the stream.
He loves it.
He remembers his dad, warning him to not fear the sea, but to respect it. Because it can be ruthless and unforgiven. He followed that rule. But the sea didn't care for it.
That day is a blur. He remembers a storm. It was gigantic and he was scared. His dad told him to go and hide but he refused. He went to help. Looking back, it was a dumb idea and he probably annoyed more than anything.
He grabbed a rope to not lose balance and in a wild movement, he fell off the boat, still holding the rope.
He cried for help. For his dad. But he simply remembers;
"CUT THE ROPE!"
Everything becomes a blur then. There are few things he remembers... he was quirkless... then how did he got a quirk?
Right... that guy in the suit... he asked him if he wanted to live... to get revenge... after that... his memories started to fade.
He remembers a green haired woman... she... loved him? He isn't sure... what does love even feels like anyway?
He remembers... how to hate... a blonde kid with explosion... he hates him... explosions hurt...
He remembers his name... Izuku... Izuku... What was it? Who cares... there is a list... there aren't names... only faces... only voices...
He remembers his dream... a hero? He wants to be one? What does a hero even do?
They stop villains, right? Heroes... get rid of them... scum... he can be one if he gets rid of them...
Izuku opened his eyes, a green glint coming from his left eye, his right one is white and useless. A scar on the corner of his mouth, on his right eye and over his nose. A red bandana covering his lower face, a white lose tank top, grey baggy pants, brown boots and a dark green coat. He starred at the man, hanging over a tank of chemicals, his ankles tied with rope.
"Why are you doing this!?" The man screamed as Izuku took a green dagger (A/N: Search Pyke Dagger).
"Cut the rope... remember when you said that? Sending a boy to his doom?" Izuku asked caressing his weapon.
The man's eyes widened "I-Izuku? I-Is that you?... I-Imposible! You drown!"
"Aye... I did..." He said placing the dagger next to the rope making the man eyes widen "Because of you... Now you have to pay..." He cut the rope sending the man into the chemicals. "Another one off the list..."
The sirens of the police were heard as Izuku looked from the corner of his eye the red and blue blinking lights. He turned around and just like a ghost disapiered, leaving only a trail of sea water.
*Sewers*
Izuku stabbed the table with his dagger and sat on his chair. He placed his feet on top of said table and laid back. He only have fragments of memories... not only of that day, but from his entire life.
He closed his eyes and smiled remembering the green haired woman. She was so nice in his dreams... in his fragmented memory... but there is no time to dwell on the past...
On a past that might not even be real.
He needs more money to pay for booze and food. He can make a job. That way he will get rid of scum and get some yens.
Climbing back into the surface always feels... odd. After the accident, he stayed in the sea for days... maybe weeks or months. He discovered that eating isn't fundamental anymore, but he keeps on doing it.
To remember how it is to be human.
He walked hunched over in one of the ghettos of Tokyo and went to the Fountain. A bar known for being a home to mercenaries. He walked in, and went to the bar. The barman, an old man with a mustache looked him over and hand him a note.
He opened the note to see two names and an address.
Lisa, the employer.
Lars, The prey.
He crumbled the note into his pocket and went to find this Lars.
He isn't sure how, but he has multiple quirks, that allow him to hunt better. Once he exited the bar, he was gone, a trail of sea water on his place.
*Lars Apartment*
Lars Samson is a fat man with red hair and a thick beard. He closed the door behind him and locked it. He took some steps back into the closet as the door was kicked open. "Lars... I guess..."
"Look man, I don't know how much that bitch payed you, but I can double it. Okay?" Izuku took a step forward and Lars backed against the wall "Triple it?" He said as Izuku launched himself at him.
Lars quickly grabbed an umbrella and hit Izuku with it, only for it to explode into salty water, wetting Lars entirely.
He laughed "Is that all you have!?" His answer was Izuku appearing behind him, grabbing his hair, pulling his head back and slitting his throat. Lars turned around to see Izuku slowly turning into water again before he disapiered completely.
*The Fountain*
"Thank you so much!" Lisa, a young woman with blue hair and red eyes said as she personally came to give Izuku his payment.
"You're welcome..." He said receiving the stack of yens as the teen teared up.
"I'm so thankful to you... I didn't know how long I could had keep up with him..." She cried and Izuku nodded. He handed her back the money confusing her.
"I'm not greedy. And you need this more than I do. Buy me vodka and we are good." Izuku said and The girl smiled at him.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Ripper! The best vodka you have for my hero!" Izuku smiled behind his bandana.
Her hero...
That's a nice memory.
