Chapter 1: Survival

Naruto Namikaze, eldest kid of Minato Namikaze, the dead fourth hokage, was laid on the floor, surrounded by death kiri shinobis. He is 16, and for the second time in his life, he is in death's doors.

He looked to the sky, his left eye closed by an injury he sustained there and laughed. He had lost everything. His father, his mother and his unborn brother. There was really no more sense for him to be in this life.

"Sorry Kakashi... you'll be alone again..." He apologized as he heard something crawling into his way.

He moved his head to see what it was, and turned out to be a small red-haired girl crawling to him. Naruto managed to sit up and turn to the girl that made baby noises "What? Are you lost?" he asked and the baby smiled making more noises "Sorry, I can't understand you... you know where your parents are?" The baby smiled and giggled making Naruto frown. "You don't have any?"

The baby crawled to him and raised her arms, asking to be carried Naruto looked around and shrugged, complying to the baby's orders. He lifted the baby making her laugh.

Naruto smiled "It's really sad that you're alone. The world is harsh. Trust me." He warned and the baby touched his nose making him smile "I am guessing you don't have a name, don't you?"

The baby tilted her head and Naruto looked to the sky "Let's see... I'll call you... Rukia. How does it sound?" Rukia clapped her hands approvingly.

Naruto heard some sound coming and he grabbed Rukia and placed her on his shoulder. He grabbed a random sword from the floor (A/N: Kenpachi Zaraki Sword) and grinned.

"Hold tight Rukia, this will get rough."

*2 Years Later*

"And those are the teams selected this year." Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage said as all the jonins nodded.

Izuku who was playing with Rukia, that was sat on his shoulder, his headband covering his left eye, his jonin vest open with nothing to cover his torso under, bandages on his abdomen, black baggy pants and grey sandals. The same sword he had been carrying from two years ago, strapped to his waist. Rukia had a black kimono and dark red pants.

"Naruto, did you pay attention?" Hiruzen asked the boy that nodded still playing with Rukia.

"Aye. Your grandson the hero, a civilian bookworm and Itachi's brother." Naruto said calmly and Hiruzen sighed.

"Just make sure to not say that to his face." Hiruzen said and Naruto chuckled, getting to his feet and making his way to the academy.

"Hey, Naru; are we going to take the team this year?" Rukia asked with a grin as she was on Naruto's shoulder that shrugged.

"Who knows. As long they pass the test, I guess I won't have another option."

"You don't wanna?"

"More like I don't care. To take care of some brats will annoy me I think." Rukia made an 'o' face as she nodded.

They made their way to the academy, after a detour to Ichiraku's Ramen that took one hour. Once they finally arrived, only his team was there waiting.

"You're late!" A pink haired girl and a brunette boy with a blue scarf screamed at him making him raise an eyebrow.

"So? We were busy." Naruto answered and Rukia nodded with a grin.

"Besides you three will annoy more than nothing!" She exclaimed repeating what Naruto said annoying the genins.

"And who the hell are you, you little brat!?" The brunet demanded making Rukia grin at him.

"I'm Rukia! And you?"

"I'm Konohamaru Sarutobi! Future Hokage!" Konohamaru said and Rukia nodded with a grin.

"Nice to meet ya!"

"Well, Future Hokage, let's start introductions." Naruto said sitting on a desk. "I'll start, my name is Naruto Namikaze, I like a couple of things and dislike others. And for my dream... I never thought about it."

The genins sweat dropped as Naruto pointed to the pink haired girl "Go ahead."

"Well, my name is Sakura Haruno, I like..." She blushed looking at Sasuke "My dream is too..." She blushed more looking at Sasuke.

Naruto frowned "And your dislikes?"

"Konohamaru!"

Naruto sighed and pointed at Konohamaru "I already said my name, I like to hang out with friends and monkeys, I dislike when people refer to me as honorable grandson and my dream is to be Hokage!"

"How boring you two are..." Naruto commented and pointed to Sasuke, ignoring the cries of indignation of Konohamaru and Sakura.

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha, I have more likes than dislikes and I don't have a dream, but an ambition... to kill someone."

Naruto laughed at that angering Sasuke "Whatever you say kid. Anyway, meet me at training ground 3 for your real test." he ignored the questions as he and Rukia left the classroom.

*Training Ground 3*

Naruto saw how Konohamaru and Sasuke arrived without problem, but Sakura was about to pass out "Well, now that you're here we can start."

"But we already passed the test!" Konohamaru complained and Rukia giggled.

"That test is stupidly easy! Only 33% of a graduation class actually become genins." Rukia explained and Naruto grinned.

"Pretty much. And your test is to survive, 5 minutes with me. Don't worry, I'll hold back kiddies." Naruto said as Rukia handed him a sand clock. "Here's a tip, come at me trying to kill me."

Sakura gulped "B-But what if we hurt you?"

Naruto laughed "I would love to see that! But don't worry about trivial things like that," He said as started the time "Time to hide kiddies."

Sakura and Sasuke jumped towards the forest, leaving Konohamaru alone with a grin on his face.

"This will be easy!" He exclaimed as he took a kunai and got in pose.

Naruto grinned "Good thing one of you is actually coming at me. Like a reward, I'll give you the first shot for free."

Konohamaru grinned and jumped to his sensei and went to stab him on the chest.

But once the kunai made contact with Naruto's chest, it broke.

Konohamaru's eyes widened and took a step back seeing Naruto's grinning maniacal face "My turn."

*5 Minutes Later*

"They actually did it..." Naruto said seeing his team, come together to fight him, but barely standing.

"You got carried away." Rukia said with a smile and he sighed.

"Guess we are a team now. See you tomorrow for our first mission." He said and walked away from his team, as Konohamaru and Sakura screamed of excitement and Sasuke smirked.

Rukia looked at Naruto with a small smile "You're worried that something will happen to them?"

"What you think?" Naruto answered and Rukia patted his head.

"Don't worry. I know this it will be different."
