Yes, this is inspired by the Futurama episode Naturama. Also last night I was up watching TF2 dubs of nature documentaries. Let's just say everyone is the animals they portray ages.
First up, can Salmon Linc defy his own natural instincts, and make it to his one true love Salmon Ronnie Anne, while at the same time avoiding becoming prey for everything else? Life's hard for a Salmon.
I own nothing. Loud House is property of Nickelodeon, Futurama is property of Matt Groeni g.
Chapter 1: Salmon (defying instinct)
(Narration by Carlos Casagrande.)
(Earth. A big blue and green ball . Third rock from the sun, sister planet to Mars. Almost completely covered by water, and yet we can only drink three percent of it. As the view pans closer, the opening Narration begins.)
Carlos Casagrande: Out of all the various lives of all the animals on Earth, none is more thrilling then the life cycle of the intrepid Salmon….(confused) Wait, is it pronounced Salmon or Salmon? Ah forget it, on with the story.
(A thick woodland. A large river cuts through. In a relatively shallow pool, several small pink eggs sit on the sandy bottom.)
Carlos Casagrande: (narrating) The Salmon begin their life in cold freshwater streams, where the Salmon eggs incubate.
(One of the eggs hatch, a small baby Salmon with unkempt red hair, buck teeth and spots on his face swim out.)
Salmon Rusty: (excited) I'm born! I got my whole life ahead of me!
(The rest of the eggs hatch.)
Carlos Casagrande: The new hatchlings are called Fry.
(A small group of Fry feed on the silty river bottom. From left to right they have, pudding bowl haircut and buck teeth and light green skin, unruly hair and dark green skin with glasses, orange skin and white hair, green skin with a yellow underside with a small afro and glasses, red skin and black hair, and pink skin and blonde hair. As they fed, the salmon fry with the afro and glasses turns to the orange one with white hair.)
Salmon Clyde: What's your name?
Salmon Lincoln: We don't have names. We're Salmon.
Salmon Clyde: (taken aback) Well, that's actually kinda sad…(brightly) But, you wanna be friends?
Salmon Lincoln: (equally bright) Sure! Just imagine all the adventures we'll have!
(A series of cut scenes flash by. Salmon Lincoln and Clyde swim around the stream, with the other Fry, each screenshot, they get bigger and older. While dodging predators and other dangers. When the Story resumes the Salmon are approaching full size.)
Carlos Casagrande: After three years in the stream, the young Salmon are ready for the arduous journey to the Ocean.
(Salmon Lincoln, Clyde, Rusty, Lola, Carl, Lisa, and Liam begin swimming downstream. As they swim they're joined by Becky, Tetherby and Katherine Mulligan. Becky has red hair and aqua skin, Tetherby appears to be old and has dark blue skin, and Katherine Mulligan has brown hair in a ponytail and dark yellow skin. More fish join them. These look like Carlota, Sid, Nikki, Sameer and Casey, Frida, Rosa, Hector, Maybelle and Par as well as Scoots.)
Tetherby Salmon: I do look forward to as what do the poor fish say ? "get my ocean on!"
(The rest of the Salmon look disgusted as they picture this. They swim down the river.)
Carlos Casagrande: The journey will be long and dangerous. Only three out of every ten will survive.
(As a group of Salmon , which consist of Lincoln, Clyde, Lisa, Lola, Katherine Mulligan, Becky, Rusty, Liam, Carl and Scoots, swim, Becky speaks up.)
Salmon Becky: Hey, I have an idea! How about the ten of us go together? You know, for safety in numbers?
(A slim, yellow beak stabs into the water, grabbing Becky. She thrashes as she lifted out of the water and is swallowed up by a great blue heron, with light blue feathers and blonde hair.)
Heron Lori: It's literally disgusting, but I know my chicks will be happy when I regurgitate that into their mouths later on.
(The other Salmon swim on, unfazed. After a while of swimming, a waterfall cascades down the rocks before them.)
Carlos Casagrande: Up ahead is the next obstacle of the Salmons journey, the cliff of the waters.
(Unbeknownst to the Salmon they are being carried along by the water as it picks up speed before going over the cliff. As they continue, Rusty notices, but doesn't seem particularly troubled.)
Salmon Rusty: (relaxed) Ahhh, it sure is nice being swept along by this current. (the water picks up speed) Wait! Whoa! Whoa!
(Quickly the Salmon are helplessly caught and go over the falls, which is shown to have three waterfalls, one after the other. Tetherby actually seems to enjoy it.)
(The first drop)
Salmon: Ahhh!
Tetherby: Oh my!
(Second drop)
Salmon: Ahhhh!
Tetherby: Oh dear!
(Third and final drop.)
Salmon: Ahhhhhhh!
Tetherby: Oh yeah!
(The Salmon splash into the slowly moving water at the bottom.)
Salmon Katherine Mulligan: (to the Audience) This is Salmon Mulligan coming you live from the stream at the bottom of the cliff of the waters! This just in, three of our number have perished in the foamy plunge!
Lola: (scoffs) Yeah right!
Carl: (laughs) As if.
(Carl, Lola and Tetherby continue laughing. Suddenly they gag weakly and roll over, floating belly up to the surface, they are dead. The only ones left are Lincoln, Lisa, Clyde, Rusty, Liam, Scoots and Katherine Mulligan.)
Lisa: (approvingly) Still, Six out of the original ten of us are still alive. By our species standards, this is highly exemplary results.
Scoots Salmon: Mama's either gonna die in extreme comfort, or I'm never gonna die!
(The Salmon start swimming, Liam's at the back. A large, blue claw reaches up and pulls him back, behind a rock. Lana, with an entirely blue exoskeleton and large pincers with her blonde hair in two small pigtails, licks her lips.)
Lobster Lana: Couse, five outta ten's pretty good too.
(Lana takes a bite out of Liam and starts eating.)
Liam: (sighs) Dang it.
(The Salmon reach the end of the stream that leads into the ocean.)
Carlos Casagrande: Soon the Salmon reach the ocean. Birthplace of all life…except for the Salmon.
(The Salmon swim into the ocean and separate, each swimming in a different direction. Lincoln swims a short distance before bumping into another Salmon, she has light purple skin and black hair in a ponytail.)
Salmon Ronnie Anne: Ow, hey watch it!
Salmon Lincoln: Sorry! I'm new here.
Salmon Ronnie Anne: So am I, but you don't see me crashing into others.
Salmon Lincoln: So who are you?
Salmon Ronnie Anne: (calms down a little) I'm a Salmon.
Salmon Lincoln: Really?! Me too!
Salmon Ronnie Anne: Guess that's cool.
(Lincoln becomes embarrassed.)
Salmon Lincoln: Look, I know we just met and I don't wanna be too forward or anything, but since we have pretty short lives, I mean we're pretty low on the food chain. So...would you like to mate in a few years when we're fully mature?
Ronnie Anne: (smirks) Kinda too late for being too forward. (looks around) But you do seem like the only fish around who isn't a total loser..so sure.
(Another Salmon swims up. He's got red hair and yellow skin. He takes an interest in Ronnie Anne.)
Salmon Chandler: Well, Well, well. I'm a pieces…and you are?
Ronnie Anne: Also pieces (indicates the other Salmon) We're all pieces.
Chandler: (arrogant) Perfect! So you, me? Spawning season? Whaddya say?
(Ronnie Anne frowns, she spins around and slaps him really hard with her tail, sending him spinning wildly through the water.)
Ronnie Anne: Not sorry, jerk. (swims over to Lincoln) I've already found my mate.
(Lincoln and Ronnie Anne swim out into open water. Chandler stops spinning, and rightens himself, looking a little green. He scowls after Lincoln and Ronnie Anne.)
Chandler: You haven't ignored the last of me.
(Ronnie Anne and Lincoln swim happily through the sea. They jump out of the water, trailing tendrils of water that form a heart. They are eating smaller fish, when Lincoln sees a sea snake and starts eating it at the head, he gets to the middle just as Ronnie Anne, who was eating it at the tail at the same time. Their lips met, Ronnie Anne turns away , blushing before she playfully smacks Lincoln with her tail. At last they both swim to the edge of a ledge and watch a colony of bioluminescent jellyfish swim along lazily.)
Ronnie Anne: (awed) It's so beautiful.
Lincoln: (agreeing) Yeah, sure is. Makes all the horrors we face on a regular and daily basis here worth it.
(Flashback. The Salmon swim along on the ocean floor. Suddenly a bearded, fat Bull Shark shows up and starts chasing them.
Exterminator shark: (roars) Fish pests! You are lunch!
(The Salmon panic.)
Lisa: Swim away! It's a Carcharhinus leucas! Street name, Bull Shark!
(The Exterminator shark swims after them and succeeds after a few minutes, in catching Sameer.)
Exterminator Shark: (between bites) I'm an apex predator!
(The other Salmon watch horrified.)
Casey: Oh, the Fish-manity!
(End of flashback. Lincoln and Ronnie Anne continue to watch the jellyfish. At that moment , their view of the jellyfish is cut off as a blonde sea lion with sunglasses on her head swims up from below them.)
Sea lion Leni: (smiles apologetically) Hi, you guys! I'm like totes sorry about this, but I'm a predator and your prey…so I'm gonna have to eat you.
(Lincoln and Ronnie Anne panic and swim away, with Leni in hot pursuit.)
Lincoln: (panicked) I'm not a Fish stick!
Ronnie Anne: (panicked) It sucks being a Salmon! Hopefully next documentary this kinda stuff won't happen!
(Leni keeps up with them.)
Leni: (slightly annoyed) Come on, guys. Don't make this harder then it has to be! It'll be easier on all of us if you let me eat you!
Lincoln/Ronnie Anne: No!
(The two swim off, as Leni follows snapping after them.)
…...
(Lincoln and Ronnie Anne managed to escape Leni. After an undisclosed amount of time, they reach full maturity. Which meant it was time to head back to the stream of their birth to spawn.)
Carlos Casagrande: (resumes narrating) Now it's time for the Salmon to return to the stream in which they were born.
(Lincoln, Ronnie Anne, Clyde, Rusty, Lisa, Chandler and two more Salmon that look like Stella and Zach swim through the ocean.)
Stella: (confused) So, how do we know it's the stream we were born in?
Lisa: (ominous) Nobody knows.
Carlos Casagrande: Experts are unsure how Salmon do this, whether they are guided by memory, sense of smell, or by detecting various changes in Earth's magnetic field.
Lisa: All right, you heard him. Everyone do one of those three things.
(The Salmon continue through the ocean. After a while of swimming, the reach the mouth of the river.)
Lincoln: Well here we are, home stream home.
(Ronnie Anne doesn't agree.)
Ronnie Anne: (distressed) No, it isn't ! I was born in the next stream up!
(Lincoln is shocked when he looks over and sees another stream directly beside his.)
Lincoln: Whoa….how'd I miss that?
(Chandler swims in between Lincoln and Ronnie Anne.)
Chandler: Your from next stream up? So am I! I can tell by the magnets in my head..or whatever. (to Ronnie Anne) Guess you and I were meant to be. Let's go.
(Chandler and Ronnie Anne swim into the next stream up. Lincoln is devastated and tries to follow. He is unable to swim into the river , no matter how hard he tried. It's like a force field prevented him from entering.)
Carlos Casagrande: The urge to spawn drives the Salmon exuberantly to the stream in which they were born.
(Lincoln continues trying to swim after Ronnie Anne. Several other Salmon swim effortlessly into the stream past him.)
Lincoln: (straining) Stupid fish body…why won't you go into that other stream!?
Lisa: (swims by, ominous) Nobody know's.
Carlos Casagrande: (irate) I just told you!
(As they swim, Ronnie Anne turns back to Lincoln.)
Ronnie Anne: (calling) Goodbye! It was fun maturing with you, and I'd definitely take you over this guy, but at this point in my life cycle, I need a mate that's within fertilization distance. (sad) I'll never forget you…Lame-o.
(Ronnie Anne and Chandler swims off. Lincoln watches them, heartbroken.)
Lincoln: No!
(More Salmon push past him as they too are driven towards their home stream. After a few seconds, Lincoln is pushed into his own stream and reluctantly swims along with the others.)
End of part 1
Now I'm gonna see Leni as a sea lion all day. It was fun to imagine her as a predator animal. She would be the one to apologize to her prey.
