Chapter 6: An explanation
New chapter, thanks for the support, as little as there is. Now, there is only one other thing I'd like to say: I am getting out of writing, and this story is up for adoption. I will still write, but it would only be updated, once, maybe twice a year, so if anyone wants it, I would give it to them, as long as you say it's my story.
I am losing interest, and I haven't had a lot of support, or not enough for me to push through. I like the idea and story, so I don't want it to die, but... please, I have a lot of it planned out, and I'd be happy to give ideas.
Thanks, enjoy.
Twelve minutes after leaving the mountainside, the helicopter started going down, alerting the passengers they had arrived at their destination. When the helicopter landed, the door on the side was opened. It was Rosalina who had opened the door, and she had two people behind her (who were probably doctors,) with a stretcher. All three of them wore a grim/serious expression on their faces.
"What happened to Anabel?" Rosalina asked as the two people climbed into the helicopter to pick Anabel up and put her on the stretcher.
As everyone in the helicopter stood up, (they waited until Anabel had to be taken out,) Rowena said, "I'll explain inside."
"Okay," Rosalina nodded, taking one of the bags Rowena handed to her. The people with the stretcher were wheeling Anabel off in a different direction to where Noël and Rowena were being led. James went with them, or in the same direction, anyway.
As they walked inside, Noël asked Rosalina, "Are they doctors who are going help Anabel?"
"Yes, they are. We are going up to my quarters to talk, though: it is very private and comfy." Rosalina didn't talk for a few minutes. "Here we are," Rosalina said, as they entered a house-like building.
Noël looked the other way to see the other building from this side. It didn't look like much and was pretty uninspiring looking. It was quite stark and plain, unlike the house, or the International Police Force base.
As they went inside, they were welcomed by the sight of a small room, with two narrow staircases and door going off it, in the colours red and blue, which was not too uncomfortable. Rosalina lead them up the staircase to the left. At the top, were four doorways, Rosalina lead them into one. This looked like a living room, Rosalina gestured for them all to sit down. "Rowena, myself, James and one other share this house," she commented and Rowena nodded in confirmation.
When Noël, Rosalina and Rowena had sat down. Rosalina said, "Looker, Epona and Saniel will be here soon. Orlanda is looking after the base: I contacted them when I got your signal. Now, what happened out there?"
Rowena explained everything she knew and had seen, then Noël told her side of the story, through telepathy.
"Here are the Nihilego," Rowena said, handing the three balls to Rosalina.
"Really, one of these Pokémon belongs to Noël. But you'd rather we kept it, wouldn't you, Noël?" Rosalina said, examining a beast ball.
"Yes, I would," Noël nodded hastily.
"Don't worry, we will take good care of it," Rosalina said, smiling.
"How did they get there, though?" Noël asked.
"A wormhole must have let them here. But thank Arceus for you shouting out, Noël. Anabel would be in serious trouble," Rosalina said, sighing. Then she stood up and left the room.
"Wha?" Noël asked Rowena, not quite grasping how quickly the woman had moved.
"Knowing the founder of this place, she is probably getting drinks," Rowena said, laughing slightly.
"Right,"
"Okay, I thought you might need something for the nerves, Rowena, so I got some brandy. And for you, Noël, I made up a cocktail-like thing. Without the alcohol, of course, I don't fancy being arrested for giving an underage kid a drink," Rosalina said, handing them both a glass full of drink.
"Rosalina! Your only supposed to quarter fill these glasses with brandy!" Rowena exclaimed, seeing she had a full tumbler of red/brown liquid.
"Oh, really? But Nihilego is really nasty, so you need more," Rosalina said, brushing it off as they all drank.
"Thanks," Noël said, wondering if Rosalina was an alcoholic.
"No problem," Rosalina said smiling.
"What now?" Rowena asked.
"We wait until Looker, Saniel and Epona get here," Rosalina said.
"Madam!" someone cried, running in. It was one of the employees.
"Yes?" Rosalina asked, thinking Looker, Epona and Saniel had arrived.
"Anabel is awake!" he said cheerfully.
"Okay, we will be there soon," Rosalina said, nodding.
"Okay, will do," the employee said. Then he left as quickly as he had come. They didn't speak until they finished their drinks.
"Alright, let's go and see Anabel. I want her account on what happened," Rosalina said, clapping.
The three got up and went downstairs then out to the main building. Noël grabbed her bag, and quickly followed. When they arrived at the main the building, they went up to the next floor via a lift, and then Rosalina lead them through a few of the wide corridors of over the blue before they found the hospital wing.
As they arrived in the hospital wing, Noël saw like the rest of the place, it was white. She wanted to have a series word with Rosalina about that. However, here there was only one bed taken up. That was Anabel's bed and currently, she was arguing with an employee, probably a nurse.
"I don't want to be here!" Anabel cried.
"Well, tough. You have to be here until your better," the employee said. Then she turned and saw Rowena, Rosalina and Noël. She said, "She has to stay here, doesn't she, mam? Help me convince her!"
"Afraid so, Anabel," Rosalina said, walking up to Anabel.
"But!" Anabel complained.
"No, you have concussion and a few broken bones: you're not going
anywhere!" the employee said sternly.
"Oh, alright," Anabel begrudgingly agreed.
"Can you go out, please? I want a private word with your patient," Rosalina asked the employee. The employee nodded and left. Then Rosalina said to Anabel, "We would like your accounts on what happened today."
"Okay. Well," Anabel started. She explained about walking down the mountain, hearing the noise, investigating it, hearing the cry, seeing Nihilego behind her, then falling down the cliff. She admitted at the end her memory was a little hazy, which showed when she spoke.
"Okay, that matches up what Noël said. And was it Noël who cried out?" Rowena asked.
"Yes! I think. Did you, Noël?" Anabel asked, sounding a little confused. Noël nodded. "But you don't speak!"
"Well, I wanted to help you," Noël supplied for the confused Anabel.
"I think we should let Anabel be, or the doctor will have our heads," Rowena said.
"Good idea," Rosalina agreed. Then she said, "Bye, Anabel."
"Bye!" Rowena said.
"See you soon, Anabel," Noël said.
"Bye," Anabel said sadly.
Then Noël, Rosalina and Rowena left. As they exited, another employee came ran up to them and said, "Epona, Looker and Saniel are here. Pillow tool them down to the lab offices. One of the back ones."
"Thanks. Come on, girls: we are going downstairs," Rosalina said walking on. Rowena, despite herself, was starting to think this was like going on a merry dance.
"Right, I hope they are not going to stressed about Anabel," Rowena commented.
Rosalina lead them back to the elevator and pressed the button to go down. "Pretty neat elevator," Noël said. She had thought it on the way up, but only just decided to voice it.
"Yes, the new age of elevators," Rosalina said with a grin. Noël gave a small smile, feeling happy she had made Rosalina happy.
When they got to the bottom, Noël saw through doorways leading off the bottom. Rosalina led them to the uppermost door, and they went through. They went through the door directly after, (weird airlock type thing,) and came across a long hallway with lots of doors down it.
Rosalina lead them down to the end. "Where we going?" Rowena asked.
"The last office. That's where they'll be, that's the biggest spare office: I can't think where else Pillow would take them," Rosalina said simply.
When they got there, Rosalina opened the door and looked in. "There here," She said opening the door wide open, and then walking in with Rowena and Noël closely following.
"Ah, here you are!" Saniel said. Everyone in the room jumped up. They were looking worried, Looker the most.
"How is she?" Looker asked, being forward.
"Alive, awake, and wanting to get out," Rowena said simply. Rosalina meanwhile, raised her eyebrow at Looker, and wondered briefly if Looker liked Anabel.
Rosalina then thought to Rowena and felt a small blush come to her face. She seemed to be attracted to both sexes, which made things awkward. Though her old friend was the only other one who had done it for her, and he might as well be dead, so... Rosalina shook her head to break out of these thoughts. It was no really the time to be thinking about her sex life.
"Are you alright, Noël?" Epona asked, thinking Noël was being forgotten with everyone being concerned over Anabel, which was fair enough.
"I'm fine. Thanks," Noël nodded.
"That's good," Epona said smiling.
"How did your beast catching go?" Rosalina asked.
"They were all captured: we brought them here. The other members, spare Orlanda stayed and are helping clean up," Saniel said.
"What happened at the hills, though?" Looker asked, pondering.
"I'll explain," Rowena spoke up. Rowena then went on to explain about what happened in the hills near Po Town.
"Oh god," Epona gasped, sitting down.
"Poor Anabel: but it was lucky you called out, Noël. Otherwise, Anabel would be dead," Saniel said, thinking.
"What happens now, though?" Looker asked, looking at Rowena and Rosalina.
"We find any other Ultra Beasts that might have wandered into this world, and in the meantime, train more people to be able to fight the beasts. As they will come back: I'm sure. That includes you too, Noël," Rosalina said.
"But I am not old enough to learn to battle! I have to be eleven! Don't I?" Noël exclaimed. It was all overwhelming. She was no hero, so it had been a big thing to speak out and save Anabel like that, and now she was going to start training to be a police officer and pokémon trainer. Not that she minded that.
"You can train as an International Police officer: even if you don't have Pokémon or we find your home, it would still be useful and you can still learn," Saniel said, sounding like a textbook.
"Okay, I will do my best," Noël nodded.
"Come on: let's go and see Anabel quickly, then start planning and contact the training base," Epona suggested, getting up and rushing to the door. Noël was surprised by how quickly everything was moving now.
"Alright, sounds good," Saniel agreed. Then they all went up to visit Anabel (some cases again,) before leaving to return to Hea Hea City.
Thanks for reading.
