Once on the medical floor, the group entered mass chaos.

Not only had the Gargoyle clan already gathered there, but the Maza family, both parents and siblings, were there as well. Matt and Travis broke off then, helping to clear the way for Elisa and the medical team to get through the concerned and panic stricken family.

Taking advantage of the clear path, the medical professionals hurried through the room and through the doors of the Maternity Suite.

Elisa was crying now, frightened about her baby, her body shaking as if in shock.

Doctor James, a former combat medic with the army, and his two nursing assistants, both who had done time in both Emergency and surgical residencies, fell back into the routine. Elisa's clothes were cut off rather than have her attempt to stand, and that's when Margaret noticed the blood staining the jeans that Elisa had been wearing.

Margaret didn't say anything, not wanting Elisa more upset than she already was, but she motioned to Doctor James so that he could further assess the situation.

Elisa was covered with a sheet to keep her from getting overly chilled, then the ultrasound machine was brought in.

"Just was I was afraid of," Doctor James said. "We have a partial Placental Abruption. We need to get this baby out, and fast."

Elisa looked at them, tears on her face as she clenched her jaw against the pain. "Is Goliath here?" She asked between clenched teeth.

"Not yet," Margaret said, "But we can't wait, Elisa." She brushed her friend's hair off of her sweaty forehead. "We need to get your little girl out now. We can't wait."

Elisa seemed to struggle for a moment, but then nodded her head. "Just get her out."

Kiersten reached around, affixing the mask that would deliver the anesthesia to the patient.

Within moments, Elisa was blessedly asleep.
