"So your dad is a baker?" Nova asked as he sat in Ezra's room on his bed while Ezra sat on the floor. Ezra's room was pretty clean for a kid's room.
"Yeah, it's how he met my new mom." Ezra smiled as he was going under his bed, digging through some stuff. "I should've known you were Steven's son, your dad made a life for all of the gems including my mom to be on their own terms. I mean you both have the same last name." Ezra giggled taking out a photo of his parents on their wedding day.
"Yeah, I want to do something like that when I'm older, so far I only have some of his powers." Nova sighed before smiling slightly at the wedding photo of Fire Opal and Ezra's dad.
"Well, you can already save lives as you did for me, so that's a start." Ezra smiled making Nova smile in return.
"So what do you want to do?" Ezra asked making Nova remember what he wanted to do.
"I want to go to Little Homeworld, I want to see some gems I know," Nova told him making him nod.
"Cool! We can go now!" Ezra exclaimed before his door opened as Arrowhead came in licking Ezra's face. "Gah! Arrowhead, no!" Ezra exclaimed making Nova giggle before Arrowhead finally left.
"He really is just all bark and no bite, huh?" Nova giggled getting off of Ezra's bed as Ezra wiped his face of dog saliva.
"Yeah, he's supposed to only scare people away. That's why Dad got him." Ezra told him as they headed out downstairs. "Mom, we're going to Little Homeworld!" Ezra called to his mom as the two left through the front door.
"Be careful!" They heard Fire Opal tell them just before Ezra can close the door.
The two headed off talking about their lives. "So, you live an hour away? That's cool! I can come over to your house when summer's over." Ezra grinned as they got into Little Homeworld.
"Yeah, that would be cool! Do you know any other gems?" Nova asked looking over at the taller boy as they walked side-by-side.
"Yeah, I come here a lot and just drop in on the classes, it's really fun. So who are we visiting?" Ezra asked before they got to Bismuth's Blacksmith.
Nova just smiled as they peeked in and saw Bismuth in the middle of making a weapon. She stopped when Ezra slipped and fell on the floor. "Well, what are you two doing here?" Bismuth chuckled as Nova helped Ezra up. "Wait a minute! Aha! Nova Universe is that you? You've have grown since the last time I saw you!" Bismuth laughed lifting Nova up in the air making the child laugh.
"Bismuth! I got powers! Look." Nova exclaimed once Bismuth put him down and Nova put a bubble around himself before getting rid of it, smiling brightly.
"Oh, I'll be! That's impressive, you don't even have a gem too. Who could've guessed." She chuckled putting her hands on her hips.
"I know right? Anyway, what are you up to?" Nova asked as Bismuth chuckled and led them over to her anvil.
"I'm making a double-sided scythe, this here baby will be able to cut through grass and crops without a hitch." Bismuth told them to pick up the glowing orange weapon before cooling it down.
"Cool! You can make anything!" Ezra exclaimed as he looked around her blacksmith. "What's that flag for?" Ezra asked pointing up at the slightly ripped, pink flag with a rose in the middle.
"You bet, little dude." Bismuth told Ezra before walking behind him looking at the old Crystal Gem Flag, She smiled as she grabbed an edge of the flag. "This here is the original flag for the Crystal Gems for when the rebellion was still new."
Nova went to her other side and hugged her side making Bismuth ruffle his hair. "Well, that's the past now, but it's good to remember the past once in a while." She said before turning around and heading back to her anvil.
"So what are you two up to?" She asked facing them and leaning against her anvil.
"We're just looking around and hoping to fine Lapis and Peridot," Nova told her as Ezra nodded in agreement even though the boy didn't know who Nova was talking about.
"Well, Lapis just stopped by earlier about some expansions to her and Peridot's home. You should check there, just-" She walked them outside and pointed down the road. "-Go straightforward and when you see the baseball field turn right and it's the building with the rope ladder." Bismuth instructed them.
"Okay! Thank's Bismuth! I'll see you later!" Nova told her as the two started heading down to see Peridot and Lapis.
"Bye, boys!" Bismuth told them before heading back into her Blacksmith.
"She was nice," Ezra told him making him nod.
"Yeah, wait till you meet Lapis and Peridot! They're cool too!" Nova said grabbing Ezra's wrist and started running to get there faster. They found the baseball area with gems and humans playing a game already so they would have to go around to not interrupt the game.
They were stopped by whistleblowing at them making them look back. Onion had the couch whistle in his mouth and waved at them to join in the game, the young adult smiled. "We'll play later, Onion! We're looking for Lapis and Peridot." Nova told the male as Onion just blinked at them and shrugged before whistling at the players.
"Aww, we couldn't play with them for a while," Ezra whined as he followed after Nova.
"We have all summer, Ezra. We can play at another time." Nova smiled as they rounded the corner and saw the rope ladder. Nova grinned excitedly as he ran up to the ladder and started climbing. "Come on!" He told Ezra motioning him to follow him as he climbed the ladder.
Ezra bit his lip as he looked up at the ladder before following after Nova, taking his time so he wouldn't fall off.
They made it up the ladder with little to no problem. Nova looking in the window smiling brightly and saw Lapis using her water powers to paint a picture. Nova tapped on the glass making her look over at him. Her eyes widened as the water collapsed to the floor and she hurried over to the door next to the window. "Nova. You're actually here!" Lapis told Nova hugging him as Nova jumped into her arms, grinning.
"Yup! I'm going to be here for a whole month! Where's Peridot?" Nova asked looking up at her as she held him.
"Peri should be back soon-" Lapis before a shriek interrupted them.
Peridot floated up to the top with her trash can lid and jump down. "You're here, you're here, you're here!" Peridot exclaimed joining the hug.
"I missed you guys too." Nova gasped as they were hugging him too much before pulling away so he could breathe. "This is Ezra, my friend." He introduced the kid making Ezra wave with a smile on his face.
"A friend of Steven's son is a friend of Peridot," Peridot told them while Lapis nodded slightly.
"Hey." Lapis greeted with a smile.
Nova gasped as he remembered his powers. "Guys! I have powers, look!" Nova exclaimed lifting his hands towards Peridot's trash can lid as a pink bubble formed around it, bringing it closer.
Lapis clapped as Peridot gasped, hurrying over to the bubble, catching her transport as Nova un-bubbled the lid. "You have no gem! This should be physically impossible!" She exclaimed before looking over Nova to see if there was a hidden gem on his body.
"I'm proud of you," Lapis told Nova giving him a pat on the head.
"Thanks, Lapis." Nova giggled as Peridot was just in awe of the whole thing. "I didn't think it was possible to have powers either, but this is awesome!" Nova bounced in place excitedly with a big grin on his face.
"Do you have any other powers?" Lapis asked him making him nod.
"I can go to the Pink Dimension." He replied.
"Pink Dimension?" Ezra asked, tilting his head slightly.
"The Pink dimension is this place where you can access it through people or creature's hair that have been revived by my dad and grandma. There's no oxygen in there though." Nova explained to him.
"That sounds like a cool place to be in!" Ezra exclaimed, "Can we go there sometime?" He asked Nova, making Nova nod in return.
"Yeah, we can't stay there long because of the lack of air." Nova giggled. "So, what have you two been doing?" Nova asked Lapis and Peridot.
"I've been working on a new painting, Peridot's being my model," Lapis answered as Peridot agreed.
"Yes! it will be the best because I, Peridot is the main focus." Peridot boasted proudly, puffing up her chest.
"Cool! I want to see!" Ezra said before Lapis blocked the doorway.
"It's not done yet, we'll show you when it's done." Lapis gave them a smile.
"That's alright, we'll leave you two at it. Come on, Ezra!" Nova grinned waving at the two gems before running over the rooftops with Ezra following behind.
Ezra kept looking down as he would climb to other rooftops while Nova just jumped over the crevices without hesitation. "Slow down, I can't keep up!" Ezra told Nova making Nova stop and look back.
Nova sat down on the roof, watching Ezra slowly make his way over, trying to be careful. He jumped a bit when Ezra slipped a bit, but he got his footing and crawled over, laying on his back. "You okay?" Nova asked him, looking down at the other male.
"Yeah, it's pretty scary up here," Ezra said sitting up next to him "Is there a way to get down fast?" Ezra asked hugging his knees to his chest.
Nova stood up and looked around. "The slanted, blue roof over there, there's hay down there where we can land on." He pointed out to him and helping Ezra up.
"That's a little far isn't it?" Ezra asked, biting his lip slightly as he watched Nova walk over one of the beams from a construction site to get to the next roof. Just watching Nova's balance over the beams gave him anxiety.
"It's fine! Come on!" Nova called back grinning brightly as he turned around and waved over at him to come along. He continued smiling as he watched Ezra go on his stomach to crawl over instead of just walking over on the beam as he did. He didn't mind waiting. It was fun having someone hang out with him.
The two managed to get down to the ground eventually, but Nova wanted to go up to the windmill in the center of Little Homeworld. Since it wasn't traversing over on top of rooftops Ezra was fine with it. Nova could already feel the wind through his hair as he climbed to the top and went to the edge, looking down at Little Homeworld, seeing some gems and humans walking around down below.
"The view's amazing from up here!" Ezra exclaimed as he stood next to Nova and looked out from above.
"I can see Bismuth's blacksmith from here!" Nova said as Ezra squinted.
"Where? I don't see anything." Ezra told him making Nova lean over the edge.
"It's just, over there?" He said pointing out the Blacksmith as best as he could, as he kept leaning forward. "See? See- AH!" Nova screamed as he fell forward. Ezra immediately tried grabbing him, but he just missed his feet.
"Nova!" Ezra shouted as Nova fell.
