After battling another akuma, Chat Noir made the decision to confess to Ladybug that he was in love with her, but Ladybug was in love with someone else. Someone who rejected her earlier that day.

*earlier*

Alya: "Girl, you need to tell Adrien how you actually feel. It's been two years!"

Marinette: "I know. I know. It's just that I'm afraid that he will reject me, and I'll end up alone. We won't get married, have two kids, a dog, a cat, and a hamster!"

Alya: "Girl, chill. If he rejects you, you have Luka."

Marinette: "Ok. You're right. I'll tell him this afternoon"

Alya: "Well, why not right now? He's coming."

Marinette: "WHAT!?"

Adrien: "Hey guys."

Alya: "I'll leave you two to talk," She winks to Marinette.

Marinette: "Alya!"

Adrien: "What was that about?"

Marinette: "Well, Alya wants me to tell you something that's been on my mind for a while."

Adrien: "What is it?"

Marinette: "Adrien," she takes a deep breath, "I've been in love with you for the past two years." She immediately regretted it after seeing the look on his face.

Adrien: "Marinette, I'm sorry. I just see you as a friend." He said with a sad look in his eye.

Marinette: "No, it's alright. I should've known to keep my feelings to myself." Marinette was on the verge of tears.

She ran straight home, crying along the way. Suddenly, she saw an akuma that tried to akumatize her, but fought it. The akuma returned back to Hawkmoth.

Hawkmoth: "This girl is strong, but I feel a stronger emotion nearby."

*present*

Chat Noir: "M'Lady, I have something to tell you."

Ladybug was still sad from earlier when adrien rejected her.

Ladybug: "What is it?''

Chat Noir: "I've known that I've loved you since the first day that I met you."

Ladybug: "I'm sorry Chat Noir, even though he might have broken my heart earlier, I still love the boy I always have."

Chat Noir: "It's ok, I understand."

Before Ladybug had the chance to say anything else, Chat Noir left. He was running across rooftops, trying to clear his head. Tears were streaming down his face. Then he saw Marinette on her balcony crying. He decided to go check on her.

Chat Noir: "Marinette, are you ok?"

Marinette: "Yes of course I am."

Chat Noir: "Then why were you crying?"

Marinette: "Oh you saw that? Well the truth is, I told a boy who I really liked that I loved him today. He said I was just a friend."

Chat Noir realized who she was talking about. He felt horrible for making her cry. He decided to tell her about Ladybug.

Chat Noir: "Well if it helps, you're not the only one who got their heart broken today."

She realized that he was talking about when Ladybug rejected him. That only made her feel worse. She started bawling. Chat Noir was surprised and tried to help her. He didn't know how so he pulled her into an tight hug. Marinette had to take it in for a second and then she relaxed. Then she pulled away and kissed him.
