Hello there, readers! Here is the fourth chapter of this story!
Now for this chapter, the sobriety of Lincoln continues. Lisa, Luna, and Lucy will do their parts, the liquor will arrive thanks to Clyde's fathers, the switch will be made with the liquor into the other bottle, and some other stuff will occur. How will this go? Find out now!
AT THE LOUD HOUSE:
It has been over 10 minutes since Lincoln started taking his cold shower, and Lori was quick to notice how much time has passed. With the shower still running, it seems that Lincoln had stuck around long enough for the shower to take action. Needless to say, she was impressed.
Well, it's been ten minutes. Lori thought with a smile. I can't believe he did it. I'm impressed that he did what he was told. Oh well, time to check on my little brother.
With that fresh in her mind, Lori knocked on the door loud enough for him to listen.
"Hey Lincoln, it's literally been 10 minutes," she hollered. "Are you done in there!?"
After she said that, Lincoln turned the water in the bathtub off as he was heard muttering under his breath. Lori took that as her cue to check in on him.
She unlocked the door and proceeded to open it up. What she saw upon entering was her little brother shivering with his arms embracing himself, and his teeth were shown chattering at how cold he felt.
Lori took a good look at him and shrugged. "That'll do Lincy. Now let's get you wrapped up in a towel."
With that, she grabbed a towel from nearby and wrapped it around her freezing naked brother, to make sure that he has some warmth for comfort. Although it didn't do him much, it was good enough after having taken a cold shower. Lori then grabbed Lincoln and took him out of the tub and brought him close to her for some further warmth.
"Alright Lincoln, I'd like you to come with me to your room, so we can get you dried up and in some nice clean PJs," she told him.
"Cooooold…" Lincoln stuttered, feeling the chills. "It's c-c-c-cooooold…L-L-L-Looooori…"
Lori sighed at the sight of her brother. While he was getting better after having taken that cold shower on top of the other stuff, he was still a little drunk, just barely. Seeing that he's going to need her help with getting him comfy and in his PJs, Lori was going to continue to be all motherly with her brother, more so than before.
Keeping her brother close as she walked out of the bathroom with him, she decided to make him feel better.
"You have nothing to worry about, my little Lincy," she cooed just like a mother would towards her baby. "Mommy's gonna get you in some nice warm clothes so you won't be cold no more."
"Oh good…" Lincoln felt relieved by that. He also felt good by the warmth he was feeling from his oldest sister, as they headed into Lincoln's room.
Once they got into the bedroom, Lori set Lincoln right atop of his bed with the towel still wrapped around him. Because he was still drunk, Lori did the honor and dried him off after taking the towel off of him. As soon as he was dried up, Lori got out a fresh pair of undies, socks, and PJs. She hasn't done this to him since he was wearing diapers. Nonetheless, it was a trip back down memory lane.
First, she put on his undies and put the loops on both of his legs, and slid them up while getting her brother to stand for a moment so she could do just that. Afterwards, she set him back down and put both socks on his feet by taking his legs and keeping them out for her to put them on. Next, she handled the PJs by putting the pajama pants on him as she did with his undies, getting him to stand up once again. Finally, there was his pajama shirt, which she took and put the loop where the head goes over his head and pulled it down until his head popped through the loop, with both sleeves for his arms still dangling. She finished the job by pulling out both of his arms through the sleeves and making sure they were through both holes. It was a success as she got both hands to be shown through the sleeves of his pajama shirt.
Setting him back down sitting on the edge of his bed in his typical orange pajamas, Lori was satisfied with what she did. She wanted to know how Lincoln felt about it.
"There. How does that feel," Lori asked. "Are you feeling comfy?"
"Uh-huh," Lincoln nodded, not having a problem with Lori having gotten him into his PJs. "Oh...Lori…hic…you are the best mother figure that I could have ever asked for…"
Hearing him say that was enough to get Lori to blush once again. For some crazy reason, she loved how he felt that way about him, even though he already made it obvious that he loves his eldest sister. The blush never left her cheeks as she replied to that.
"Well Lincy, I'm glad that you feel that way about me, twerp," Lori kissed him on the forehead right before she playfully called him 'twerp'. "Lincoln, you are my little twerp, and I do love you."
This got Lincoln to mutter under his breath again as she helped him off his bed and they exited the bedroom.
Oh my goodness…it is true… I literally do feel like a mom towards my younger brother… Lori thought with her blush fading into a light pink. Dang it, I'm gonna miss my brother when I leave for college. But I need Lincoln to know that everything will be okay even when I move out…once he's no longer drunk…
This forthcoming objective permeated her thoughts, as that's what she would plan to do with him when he's sobered up by tomorrow morning. She just has to wait until that time comes.
As soon as they exited the room, they heard Lisa calling out to them from the room nearby.
"Attention, eldest sister and brother figures," she cried out as she stormed out of her room with something that was of sheer importance. "I've got some substantial news that I have to share with you two! After making all of the necessary preparations, and checking to see that all of the mandatory components were consistent with the experiment, I have finally finished creating my homemade carbon capsule pill, just like you instructed."
Indeed. Right in Lisa's hand was the carbon capsule that she made for Lincoln; intended to be consumed by mouth. The capsule wasn't any different from any capsule sold at a drug store; prescription or over-the-counter drug. As expected, the inside of the capsule contained the charcoal extracted from the burnt particles, as well as the compounds that were found in their mom's sleeping pills. Needless to say, Lisa was ecstatic about a job well done.
Just the sight of it alone got Lori to sigh in relief. "Finally, it's literally about time you got done making that Lisa."
Lisa could sense the impatience in Lori's voice, and she decided to clear things up with her.
"Now, now, my eldest sister figure, this wasn't some simple mundane task that you make it out to be," Lisa exclaimed. "This required the right kind of specific procedure and items necessary to achieve this feat. And thanks to your patience and corporation, I have finished. That being said, our only brother figure can take the capsule and swallow it down whole."
Lincoln was a little hesitant with taking the capsule, as he decided to ask. "Hic…is the capsule going to do something bad to me…?"
"Negative big brother," Lisa shook her head and claimed. "I assure you that this pill contains zero toxins of the sort, and there are no harmful bacteria that could do wretched things to the human body, based on the studies I've made on human anatomy. Indeed, this pill is 100% safe and invulnerable to swallow, since all it's made of is leftover charcoal, and some of our maternal figure's hypnotics, or sleeping pills that she keeps in the bathroom cabinet."
"Oooooh…" Lincoln slurred, not knowing too much about the details.
"To be precise, this pill has the sole intention of helping you get to sleep faster," Lisa continued. "And besides, the stuff in this pill isn't anymore harmful than the ingredients that are found in the liquor that you consumed. This'll also aid you in fighting off those deadly infectious toxins found in that alcoholic beverage you drank by sleeping it off."
"Well okay Lisa, that's literally good, or whatever," Lori told her as she decided to call out. "LUAN, COME UP HERE AND GIVE LINCOLN A GLASS OF WATER SO HE CAN SWALLOW DOWN THE PILL THAT LISA MADE!"
"OKAY LORI, I'LL BE UP THERE IN A SPLASH!" Luan hollered back while laughing at the pun she made. "GET IT!?"
Lori and Lisa rolled their eyes and groaned as Lincoln just stood there, waiting patiently for her jokester sister to come upstairs with that glass of water…
Exactly a few minutes later, Luan was shown racing up the stairs with the glass of water in her hands. As soon as she approached Lori, she came to a halt.
"Alright Lori, I have the cup of water right here," Luan caught herself as she showed the cup of water.
"Good. Lincoln is going to take that pill that Lisa made for him, and he'll drink this water to wash it down whole," Lori told her, directing her to Lincoln.
Luan nodded as she gave Lincoln the cup of water for him to drink up.
"Okay Lincoln, this water is for you to drink and liquid you?" Luan laughed at yet another one of her puns. "Get it?"
"That pun was unnecessary in this particular circumstance," Lisa deadpanned. "And if I was to go as far as evaluation that, I would grade it as an unsatisfactory."
"Well everyone is being a critic," Luan muttered quietly.
Lisa decided to brush that off and faced her brother with the carbon capsule right in between her pointer finger and her thumb.
"Alright male sibling subject, open up," she instructed, pointing to his mouth.
Without hesitation, Lincoln slowly opened his mouth. When his mouth was open, Lisa flicked the capsule right into Lincoln's mouth.
"Okay Linc, now drink the water," Lori demanded.
Seeing that he didn't have a choice in the matter, Lincoln took the cup, brought it to his mouth and drank down the water, which he used to gulp down the capsule in the process. Once all the water was gone, Lori took the cup and smiled at him.
"Good job bro," Lori gave Luan the cup to bring back to the kitchen without question.
Luan nodded solemnly as she turned around and went back downstairs for the kitchen.
"Well, now that we have that settled and straightened out, we just be patient with this interlude to come and go for Lincoln to fall into unconsciousness," Lisa made an estimated guess. "Now if I'm not mistaken, judging from the examination that I've made with the bottle of those soporific drugs our mother takes, the estimated amount of time it'll take for the capsule to kick in is approximately 20 minutes, at the max."
"20 minutes," Lori rubbed her chin. "So after 20 minutes, our brother will get knocked out cold as you anticipate it?"
"Affirmative," Lisa nodded nonchalantly.
"Well, that's good enough," Lori was fine with this. "We can wait for 20 minutes to go by for Lincoln to get to sleep."
"That would be the most efficient and preferable decision to go with, my eldest sister," Lisa agreed. "Now if you'll excuse me, I must return to the comfort of my room to tend to some business that needs to be taken care of. I bid you two a farewell until later."
With that, Lisa retreated to her room to take care of the business she was referring to. Once she was gone, Lori turned around to face Lincoln again.
"Okay Lincy, while we wait for the pill to kick in, we're going to go see Luna, and she's going to sing and play a song for you. Does that sound good," she said casually to her little brother.
Lincoln let out another hiccup, along with a belch this time, something that didn't cause Lori to flinch.
"Okay, mom…" Lincoln was being obedient by this point and didn't object.
In an instance, Lori escorted Lincoln down to Luna and Luan's bedroom, as they were going to have Luna sing and play for her brother, and to do the final part to this plan before Lincoln passes out for the night…
Several moments later, in Luna and Luan's room, Luna was getting all comfortable with her guitar handy, as it was her turn to help out her bro. She was sitting on her purple beanbag, getting all cozy as she tuned her guitar a bit. If she was going to sing and play a song for Lincoln, she felt that she should at least do it her way. When she was done tuning it, she noticed how her brother was still standing as Lori was off to the side, supervising and all.
Seeing that her bro should get comfy too, Luna decided to encourage him to take a seat.
"Now c'mon bro, help yourself to my spare beanbag so you can take a load off and chill a bit," Luna directed him to her navy blue beanbag. "If we're gonna rock around the clock tonight, then we're gonna have to do it sooner dude. So take a seat and relax man."
"Uh…right," Lincoln said groggily as he staggered for a minute or so. Afterwards, he takes a seat on the beanbag that Luna was pointing to.
"Alright, does that feel better?" Luna asked him.
Lincoln nodded in a slumped manner, which was more than enough of an answer for Luna.
"Good," Luna grinned with her guitar in her lap. "Bro, I've got the perfect song that I'm going to sing and play for you, and you're going to like it."
Just then, Luan popped out from behind Lincoln's beanbag unexpectedly.
"Surprise," she announced abruptly.
This didn't get Lincoln to flinch, as he was too comfy. It's worth noting that Luan was wearing a particular attire for this occasion. She was wearing a jesters' hat on her head, and in her arms was a rubber balloon shaped like a baseball bat. Luna took notice of Luan popping up, and winked at her; a sign that she was wondering if she's ready for this, and Luan gives her a casual smile in exchange.
By contrast, Lori wasn't expecting this and was a bit perplexed by Luan's unexpected presence.
"Luan, what are you doing here," Lori queried. "I literally thought that it was going to be just Luna playing a song for our brother."
"Just Luna, huh, and leave me out of it? Surely you jest," Luan giggled before getting serious. "Get it? But seriously, we planned this out the whole time."
"She's right sis," Luna backed her up. "Luan and I planned on this the whole time while waiting for when I get to sing and play a song for Lincoln. Trust us brah. We know what we're doing. After all, I was Lincoln's bunkmate that one time."
"You know what? Whatever I literally don't care," Lori waved her hands. "All that's important is that Lincoln gets to sleep."
"That's all we needed sis," Luna then turned back to her brother. "Are you ready for this, dude?"
"Uhhh…yes," Lincoln nodded in a slur.
"That's the spirit bro," Luna smiled. "Here goes nothing."
With that, Luna started to play her guitar, in which she played a familiar song. The song she was playing was a variation of '99 Bottles of Beer', but with a twist, as Luan was in her position right behind Lincoln with the baseball bat-shaped balloon in her hands. As par tradition, Luna was the one to start singing first.
"Ooooh, 99 bottles of 'bonk' on the wall! 99 bottles of bonk!" Luna sang.
It's worth mentioning that every time Luna says 'bonk', Luan went and hit Lincoln on the head with the baseball bat-shaped balloon. It didn't hurt Lincoln a bit, since it was a balloon. Still, it was used for simple slapstick comedy elements to go with this musical number. Although Lori didn't approve of this, she decided not to intervene, seeing that Lincoln could use some entertainment before he gets knocked out cold.
"Take one down, pass it around," Lincoln chimed in a slurred manner, apparently going along with it.
"98 bottles of 'bonk' on the wall!" Luna finished for him as Luan gave another bonk as a result. This went on for quite some time…
20 MINUTES LATER...
"11 bottles of 'bonk' on the wall, 11 bottles of bonk," Luna sang, as Luan delivered more bonks to Lincoln's head.
This has been going on for over 20 minutes, and this meant one thing; the pill was starting to kick in. And Lincoln was beginning to feel it.
"Take one down...p-pass it around..." Lincoln sang slowly as he starts to slump down and fall right onto his back.
"10 whole bottles of 'bonk' on the wall!" Luna finished the song, as she put her guitar down. "Wasn't that awesome bro?"
Lincoln didn't respond, and there was a good reason for this. He was out cold and was sound asleep. The only source of noise that came from Lincoln was his snoring, and all three sisters heard this. This only meant one thing.
"Wow, our little bro is sleeping," Luna smiled.
"Yeah, he must be sawing logs," Luan remarked.
Lori was proud of this, as she approached her sisters. "Well girls, we have accomplished our goal for tonight. Lincoln is asleep, and he should be sleeping off that liquor. Now uh, could you girls help me get our brother to bed for the night?"
"You got it, sis," Luna was all for it. "Let's get our little bro to bed!"
"Yeah," Luan said. "So he can be sleeping on his bed that's as comfy as a cloud."
Without any other words, the three of them picked up their sleeping brother and carried him back to his room.
As they were heading to his room, some of the sisters took notice of them passing by, particularly Leni, Lynn, and Lisa, who were still in their respective bedrooms. They came out of their rooms and watched as they brought Lincoln back into his bedroom, where they placed him gently onto his bed.
After that, Luna and Luan backed away from the bed as Lori got him tucked in and comfy, by taking his blanket and covering his body. She also made sure his head was resting on that pillow, and that he was sleeping properly, snoozing away and whatnot. Once he was all tucked in, Lori backed away and went to the door.
"Goodnight Lincoln," she whispered as she left the room, alongside Luna and Luan.
Once they left the room peacefully, the three sisters who witnessed them getting Lincoln into bed were right outside his room and had regrouped with them. Lisa, in particular, had approached Lori upon seeing Lincoln sleeping away.
"I take it that my homemade carbon capsule was a success in helping our sole brother figure fall into an unconscious state, correct?" Lisa took a guess.
"Yes, it worked," Lori nodded as she looked at Lincoln yet again. "Our brother is sleeping it off, and it's the best way for him to fight off the alcohol that he drank."
"Well guys, we couldn't have done it without my exercises," Lynn bragged.
"Yeah, and like, the milkshake helped him too," Leni added.
"Hmph, obviously it was my creation that sealed the deal," Lisa retorted.
Lori decided to cease this minor feuding by getting in between. "Look, the important thing is that Lincoln is fast asleep, and we all played a role in helping him sleep it off."
"Not quite," Lucy announced abruptly, jump scaring the sisters yet again. "It's time for the final phase in this ritual. I will read one of my poems out loud to him while he's sleeping, in hopes of helping him shred off those demons that have been plaguing him all night long."
As Lisa rolled her eyes in annoyance at that, Lori sighed heavily. "Fine, Lucy. Let's get this done and over with, so we can let Lincoln sleep in peace."
"Gladly," Lucy nodded as she entered the bedroom with one of her poems in her hands, as the others watched her do so.
As soon as she was standing right beside the bed, she looked at the poem she wrote, and she cleared her throat and proceeded to read an excerpt from the poem. This is what she read aloud:
My big brother, and the man with the plan,
He's the only boy out of the Loud sibling clan.
He stands out among us, his hair is white,
Normally comes in and splits up the fights.
He's always there to help us whenever we are in need,
He goes through all the trouble, just for us indeed.
Helps me with my poems, and for that I am grateful,
Being my brother and my friend, he is usually faithful.
Doesn't seem to mind painting my fingernails,
And giving me manicures, of which he never fails.
When we went to the Royal Woods Spa without any host,
We worked together just to search for a ghost.
So as the guy that he is, he helps me in the right direction,
I love my big brother; we have such a strong connection.
As soon as she was done with reading the excerpts, Lucy saw that Lincoln was still snoring away, a sign that he wasn't awakened by her reading her poem. Taking this as a good sign, Lucy shrugs her shoulders and exits the room.
She then approached Lori with how she had finished.
"Alright Lori, I've finished reading the excerpt to my sleeping brother," Lucy told her. "The deed is done."
"Good," Lori was impressed. "Now we can let Lincoln sleep for the night, and by tomorrow morning, he should be feeling much better after all we've done for him."
"Yes," Lucy said dryly. "Our dearly beloved brother should be fine since I've fended off those demons with the excerpt I just read to him."
This instantly got Lisa to scoff at how she went about with it. "Oh please. It's coherent that the carbon capsule that I gave to him was what accomplished the venture. You see, it's all a matter of approaching it scientifically, not with hogwash such as supernaturalism."
"Pffft, as if," Lynn snorted and crossed her arms. "I still think that it was my exercises that got him tired out in the first place."
"Guys, enough," Lori hissed with a warning tone.
At that moment, we see Lily crawling out of her bedroom and into the hallway with Mr. Bun Bun in her hand. She had been asleep this whole time during their objective of getting Lincoln sobered up and put to sleep. It was now that she chose to come out of her crib and get to the rest of her sisters with the stuffed rabbit in her hands.
"Poo-poo," Lily babbled, getting their attention while showing the toy in her arms.
"Oh right, Lincoln could literally use this right now," Lori took the stuffed rabbit that Lily willingly let her take. "Thanks, Lily."
Lily only babbled, as a result, being a baby and all. Regardless, Lori entered the room again with Mr. Bun Bun in her hand. Once she approached the bed, she placed the stuffed rabbit into Lincoln's free arm and tucked it in there for him to snuggle. It worked, since it didn't alert him in the slightest, and he was now sleeping while cuddling with the rabbit toy.
Lori just stood standing there, smiling in awe at the sight before her. Leni witnessed this too as she entered the room while the rest of the sisters stood right outside the doorway. This included Lola who heard the commotion and wondered what was going on. Lana was the only exception since she had gone somewhere without them knowing. Still, Lori and Leni were focused on their sleeping brother.
"Isn't Linky like totes adorable the way he sleeps," Leni whispered, as Lori smiled.
"He literally is cute when he sleeps," Lori agreed with her in a whisper as they spent the next couple of minutes while the other sisters crowded the doorway.
Just then, the moment was ruined when a loud knock was heard at the door, followed by the doorbell. Luckily, this didn't wake Lincoln at all, so that was good news. Lori knew instantly who that was at this time of night.
"That must be Clyde's dads with the liquor," Lori muttered as she walked out of the room with Leni. "Leni, you take Lily and put her back in her crib. The rest of you come with me, we're going to answer the door."
The sisters nodded as Leni went and scooped up Lily in her arms and headed back to the bedroom Lily shares with Lisa as she proceeded to get her back to sleep in her crib. The rest of them headed downstairs and for the front door to see Clyde's dads with the liquor and make it look like the liquor was never consumed by Lincoln…
Once the girls got downstairs, Lori opened the front door, to see both of Clyde's dads out there as expected. Lori felt herself lighten up at their presence.
"Oh hey Mr. and Mr. McBride," Lori greeted. "It is a relief that you made it."
"Yeah, we're sorry we took so long," Howard told her. "We would have been here sooner, but we had to make sure that Clyde was entirely asleep before we went out on this errand."
"That's right," Harold then brought up. "And as we promised, we have the pint of liquor that you wanted us to get."
They took out the pint of liquor that they purchase and it was indeed, the same kind that Lincoln drank down.
"Alright, this is literally a miracle," Lori was delighted as she took the bottle from them.
"Yeah," Howard informed her. "One thing we should bring up before we forget; they didn't have any of the full pint liquor where we went to."
"So we had to settle for the half a pint of liquor bottle instead," Harold finished up.
"Perfect. This is literally perfect," Lori smiled brightly. "Mr. and Mr. McBride, thanks for doing this on such short notice."
"Yeah dudes," Luna added. "You've guys have been a great help."
"And we are sorry that we had whiskey'd you away to do this for us," Luan had said with a pun before snickering. "Get it? But seriously, we are sorry that you had to do this."
"Hey now, it was no problem at all," Howard assured them.
"Yeah, it was our pleasure," Harold agreed. "We just want you girls to promise us that this will never happen again."
"I guarantee you guys that it won't, and I'll make sure of it," Lori told them.
"Wonderful. We are proud of that," Howard was overjoyed, as was Harold. "Well, we better be getting back home now."
"You girls have a safe night," Harold added.
"You too Mr. and Mr. McBride," Lori returned the gesture.
After they nodded their heads, they started to walk off away from the house as they planned on getting back home. When they were out of sight, Lori closed the front door and turned around with the bottle of liquor in her hands.
By then, Leni had finally come downstairs after having to get Lily back to sleep. When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she approached Lori and caught herself.
"Hey…Like, I'm sorry for taking so long girls," Leni apologized. "I had to make sure Lily got to sleep. And now that she's snoozing, Lily shouldn't be waking up any soon for the night."
"Yeah, sure Leni," Lori showed her the bottle of liquor. "Anyway, we got the pint of liquor that Clyde's fathers gave to us."
"O-M-Gosh, Lori, that's like, totes amazing," Leni gleamed excitedly.
"It is. Anyway, now we have to do the next part that I've been planning," Lori turned to face Luna. "Luna, do you still have that empty bottle that Lincoln drank from?"
"Sure do sis," Luna took out the empty bottle and gave it to Lori. "Here you go."
"Thank you, Luna," Lori thanked her before heading to the kitchen. She was about to do the next part of the plan since they got a fresh bottle of alcohol.
As soon as she was standing over the sink, she placed the empty bottle on the counter and opened up the new bottle of liquor. She took the cap off and put it to the side and then opened the empty bottle and put that cap over to the side as well. With both bottles opened up, Lori put them both into the sink and poured the liquor from the new bottle right into the empty bottle. She did this by flipping the new bottle upside over the empty bottle and pressed both tops together to make it work. She did this over the sink to avoid making such a mess, and to prevent any of her other sisters from checking it out. Needless to say, it was paying off.
As soon as all the liquor in the new bottle was put into the other bottle, Lori put the now empty bottle and put it off to the side, and took the now filled up bottle and put the cap back on it. When she put that over to the side, she took the now empty bottle and rinsed out several times with water so that there would be no traces of liquor at all in the bottle. She filled it and drained it several times or so before she was satisfied with the results.
Seeing that there was no more alcohol in it, she put the empty bottle to the side and put the cap back on it. The job was done.
Now Lori took the filled up bottle and dried it off with a paper towel. Once that was done, she reached for the cabinet above the fridge, opened it up, and put it back in there so it would look like it was never taken out of there. After she did that, Lisa came into the kitchen to do what she was planning on doing since the idea came to her.
"Pardon my intrusion given the circumstances eldest sister, but I would like to have some assistance to the cabinet so I can do the honor," Lisa took out what appeared to be a lock. "I happen to have plans on installing this lock onto the cabinet so no one can open it up without the key and to insist that no one can ever dispatch that door with the beverage being held within."
Lori understood what she was saying, and felt that this would such a terrific idea to make sure this doesn't happen a second time. With a nod, Lori grabbed a hold of Lisa and helped her up onto the top of the fridge where the cabinet was. From there, Lisa took the lock and approached the door, where she attached the lock to the door to perfection. Once it was on there, Lisa tested it out by pulling on the cabinet door, to which it didn't budge an inch.
"Eureka," Lisa was ecstatic. "It looks like that lock was put to good use after all."
"It has," Lori commented. "Now let me help you get down from there, Lisa."
"Precise my next course of action," Lisa commented as Lori grabbed Lisa and brought her down back onto the floor.
Once she was on the floor, Lisa dusted herself as she proclaimed. "Now my fellow siblings, that course of action was to ensure all of us that something like what happened to Lincoln will never take place again, especially when our parents will gain possession of the key."
"That's totes awesome Lisa," Leni beamed. "But like, what should we tell our parents when they ask about the lock that on that cabinet door?"
Lori pinched the brim of her nose to think when an idea came to her. "Alright, if they ask, we'll just tell them that we decided to act responsibly to take extra precautions. All while covering up what our brother did so he can be safe because we all love him."
"That's like, a sweet idea Lori," Leni chirped excitedly.
"Literally," Lori nodded before declaring with the empty bottle in her hand. "Now with that set, the only thing left to do is to get rid of this empty bottle of liquor. Luna, I'm volunteering you to go outside and take this bottle into the trash can where you will drop it in there."
"Sure thing sis," Luna obeyed as she took the bottle from her hand and went outside the backdoor in the kitchen to put it in the garbage can.
As she was heading out, Lola noticed that this whole time, her twin wasn't with them at all.
"Hey girls, have you seen Lana? She's missing," she queried with a huff.
Lori had a bored look on her face and took a wild guess. "She's probably out digging for trash again, as usual."
The others seemed to think that that was what Lana was doing, so no one else made comments about that…
Meanwhile, Luna was outside and had approached the garbage can nearby. When she approached it, she took the lid off and dropped the bottle inside. She was about to walk back inside, but couldn't even budge one foot when she heard a familiar voice inside after hearing the bottle almost hit someone.
"Hey, watch where you're dropping that," the voice yelled out, getting Luna's attention.
She turned around to face the trash can again. Then as expected, Lana popped out of the trash can. As Lori predicted, Lana was doing some scavenging in the trash can for more trash to collect. Luna was shocked to see her out here at this time of night.
"Lana, what were you doing in there," she asked her.
"Oh you know, the usual," Lana shrugged casually as she jumped out of the trashcan. "I was digging out of the trashcan again, and I found some chewed up gum."
She helped herself to the gum she found and chewed on it, getting Luna to cringe a little.
"You want some sis," Lana offered.
"Uh, I'll pass Lana," Luna claimed honestly.
"Suit yourself," Lana didn't object as she kept the remains for herself.
Then Luna motioned Lana to head back inside where the others were waiting for them.
Once they went back inside through the kitchen door, Luna and Lana went back over to the others. The girls then saw Lana and gave her the look, which told her that they want to know where she was.
"What," Lana said innocently, chewing on her gum. "I was out digging for trash again, and I found some scrap pieces again that I decided to have."
"Ick, gross, Lana, you are such a dirty raccoon for doing such a revolting thing," Lola spat while cringing at the sight before her.
"Alright, let's just drop it and not discuss this any further," Lori commanded, getting them to stop talking about it. "What's important is that things are almost back to normal around here. Lincoln is sleeping, the liquor now looks like it's never been touched, a lock was put onto the cabinet to make sure none of us touch it, and the bottle is in the trash can."
"Like, what should we do now Lori," Leni inquired.
"Well, seeing that we got everything we needed to do finished, I think we should all turn in for the night," Lori insisted. "Tomorrow we'll work on cleaning the place of whatever mess was made, so there are no hints of liquor ever being left behind. I'm also burdened to tell you, girls, that the laundry will be done tomorrow so my stained shirt can be cleaned off."
"Puh-lease, there's no way I'm washing my gowns with your dirty stained shirt," Lola protested.
"I simply must object to the thought of having all of our articles of clothing being thrown into the washer simultaneously," Lisa brought up her argument. "May I suggest that our garments could get laundered individually?"
The rest of the sisters (bar Lana who doesn't get what's so great about washing clothes at all) all shared the same sentiments that Lola and Lisa have regarding the whole laundry business.
"Oh alright, that's literally fine by me," Lori pinched the brim of her nose, hoping on settling this. "I'll wash my clothes with Lincoln's clothes. The rest of you can have your clothes washed separately. Does that sound good?"
The sisters all nodded proudly at that, seeing that it was fair.
"And also, the trash outside will be bagged up and put out front for when the garbage truck comes, so that bottle will not be present when mom and dad get back." Lori also brought up.
"Sounds good to me sis," Luna nodded before frowning. "And sis, I'd like to say that we're sorry for jumping all over you earlier. We were just worried about our bro."
"Yeah, I mean Lincoln is the Linc to all of us," Luan made a pun while being sincere. "We would be devastated if something happened to him."
"It's okay girls. I understand why you were acting like that," Lori said softly. "And to tell you the truth, I couldn't let Lincoln be put through that either, so I was just as worried."
"That's totes good, Lori," Leni smiled.
"Anyway guys, I'm about ready to hit the sack," Lynn stretched her arms out. "The exercises that I've done with Lincoln have me feeling exhausted."
"Sigh, it'd be best to retreat to the darkness for the night," Lucy commented.
"Not to mention the misfortunate of today left quite a significant impact on all of us, and we should sleep it off," Lisa declared. "And by tomorrow, there should be zero miscalculations that would occur."
"Good idea girls," Lori demanded. "You girls go upstairs to your bedrooms. I'll be upstairs in a minute."
The girls nodded as they all headed back upstairs and went to their rooms to turn in for the night. As soon as she heard their doors close, Lori decided to turn off all of the lights downstairs and made sure nothing was running during the night.
"Whew, this has been a rough night for everyone," Lori yawned. "I hope that by tomorrow, I can talk to Lincoln about what he's been feeling and that it'll be a better day for all of us."
As soon as she turned off every last light downstairs, Lori then retreated for the stairs and was heading for her room to turn in. Once she made it upstairs, she had one more thing that she had to do before going back to her room.
She peaked quietly into Lincoln's room and saw her brother still snoring away. He was now on his side with Mr. Bun Bun safely in his arms, as Lori smiled at the sight before her.
Jeez, I literally will miss my adorable little brother when I move out. Lori thought.
Letting out a quiet sigh, Lori tiptoed towards Lincoln's bed, where she planted a sweet but soft kiss on his cheek.
"Goodnight Lincy," Lori whispered to him. "I'll see you first thing tomorrow."
With that, Lori tiptoed towards the door and walked out, where she then gently closed his door behind her. As soon as she did that, she walked back to her room to turn in for the night. She entered the room and closed it behind her. Lori had hopes that tomorrow would be a much better day for all of them, and that everything would be okay…
END OF CHAPTER 4…
That's it for this chapter everyone! I hope you enjoyed this chapter too!
Anyway, to avoid confusion, the poem that Lucy read to Lincoln while he was asleep was an excerpt from Lucy's Relationships: A Collection of Poems; the poem that described her relationship with Lincoln, with three different parts of it being cut up and pieced together to make the necessary excerpt. This was done to make the excerpt more consistent. That's all I wanted to say.
One more thing, there is a slight reference to Sharing a Room with a Rocking Roommate too, for those who didn't notice.
Anyway, the next chapter will give some closure to the following morning, Lincoln and Lori have a talk and things get settled down. Find out how all of this will go next time.
For now, you can leave a review and tell me what you thought about this chapter. There can be constructive criticism to let me know what I can improve on, or positive reviews telling me what they liked.
Aside from that, that's all folks! So until the next chapter, thanks again for reading guys!
