We only said goodbyes with words, I died a hundred times. You go back to her and I go back to us –
Back to Black, Amy Winehouse, 2006
It was a fling. A part of him always knew this day would come. Kakashi and Sakura was never a thing. They would never be a thing. And Kakashi was stupid to think that they would last. It was foolish that he felt he can find a home in a woman who was desperately in love with someone else. And now that the man had come for her, she had left Kakashi without a second thought.
It was five months ago when Kakashi found himself in an unfamiliar bed with a throbbing pain in his head. Also very much naked. The bed was softer, and it had more pillows than he and his father both had in the large Hatake residence. The smile appeared on his face vanished completely as he saw the mop of pink hair popping out under the lime green comforter. He had to rub his eyes to confirm what his eyes were showing him. It was who he thought she was. A shiver rose through him, and Kakashi stumbled out of bed finding his clothes to cover himself. His main goal was to get out of her house before she woke up. Memories of last night started coming back to and Running his fingers through his messy silver hair Kakashi prayed to everything holy that she wouldn't remember any of that when she woke up. But he didn't want to forget any of that. It was one of the best nights for him since he took the job as the Hokage. It was when he was pulling up his pants, he heard a soft giggle. In shock and panic, he looked at the bed only to see hazy green eyes staring back at him. A faint smile on his face as strands of her pink hair splayed all over her broad forehead and the white pillow. Kakashi's gaze ran lower to see the comforter now rested across her chest, covering herself. She looked divine in the morning light that was flooding the room from the open window.
Good morning. Kakashi covered himself quickly and turned away from her looking for her shirt. A soft moan came behind him, and Kakashi's lips quirked up involuntarily.
"leaving so early?" her voice was soft and sleepy, and Kakashi couldn't help but look back at her. She was now sitting on the bed with the bedsheets wrapped around her slender body. Smiling at him, she ran her fingers through her messy hair.
"shouldn't I leave?" he asked her knowing the smile on his face was nothing but a reflection of hers.
"I would rather you stay" with that lifted her hands towards him, and without a second thought, Kakashi took her hand and joined her to the bed.
Since then, they never got enough of each other. The five months went in a bliss. Kakashi had her whenever and wherever she wants, and she gladly gave herself to him. Their rooms, hospital supply room, his office, the "Konoha-fire" park, Naruto's kitchen. Their relationship was pure passion and insatiable heat.
It was one day, as she was on his lap, with his softening member still inside her and as showered his neck with soft kisses, Kakashi thought he could actually end up with her at some point. He hoped that they end up together because that day Kakashi didn't want to let go of the Sakura who smiled at him and dismounted him, planting a soft kiss on his forehead. He knew she was the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
But two days after, when Sasuke returned to the village and asked Sakura to marry him in his office, in front of him, she never even looked at him before giving Sasuke the answer he wanted. He had smiled and them and gave his good wishes to them but he was bitter. So bitter and sad that he couldn't stop the tears as soon as he closed the door of his restroom. That night she came to him. He mustered every ounce of strength in him not to cry in front of her as she calmly explained her feelings for Sasuke and told him not to feel bad about their causal fling. Little did she know; it wasn't a casual fling for him. It was that night Kakashi realized love can make anyone weak. Even an unbreakable person like him.
Now it's been five months since she had left the village with the man she loves, yet Kakashi was not over their "fling". He indulges himself in his work and rarely takes a break. He wants no women, and he keeps to himself. Sakura broke him by taking the only ray of hope he found to have a good happy life with love. And he had no intention to recover from that.
