Jacob sat next to Nessie on the couch, feeling uncomfortable under the stares of her parents, who were facing them on the couch across from him and Nessie.

"So how do you plan to provide for Nessie and the baby?" Her father, Carlisle had asked as he stared intently at Jacob.

"We-.." Jacob started nervously before Nessie interjected, to help him out.

"Well, Jacob owns his own garage in town, don't you Jake?" Nessie said and Jacob nodded.

"Yeah, exactly - It's been up and running for a few years now and its business is still going strong." Jacob said proudly, giving Nessie a grin as he squeezed her hand which he held in his lap, silently thanking her for interjecting.

"I see" Carlisle nodded more to himself than anything, before turning to his wife and Nessie's mother, Esme for her opinion on the matter.

"Well I think thats wonderful, Jacob. I don't doubt you will look after Nessie and the little one." Esme smiled at the pair, she couldn't believe her little girl was going to have a little one of her own, but she loved babies and couldn't wait to be a grandma.

Nessie's father took awhile to warm up to Jacob, and Jacob knew it would take awhile for him too, I mean, even though he'd known Nessie for few months, it was still going to be a shock for her parents to know she was knocked up with a bun in the oven. But he was thankful that Nessie's mother Esme seemed to welcome him in with open arms into their family.

They continued talking over lunch, and Jacob watched as Nessie and Esme discussed happily about decorating the spare room for the baby, much to her fathers dismay, but Esme wasn't having him be negative and gave him a look that could kill every time he started to moan about something regarding Jacob.

"So how far along are you exactly, Nessie?" Her mother had asked as they sat at the dining table.

Nessie finished chewing the food she had in her mouth before replying, casually shrugging her shoulders as she did. "About 4 weeks."

"Plenty of time to get everything ready then." Her father interjected into the conversation and Nessie nodded, smiling.

"Yes, plenty."

Nessie knew her father was being a little stubborn on warming up to the idea of her and Jacob... especially them having a baby, but he wasn't as bad as she thought. And she was glad she had spoken to them on the phone before hand rather than springing it on them today. They were shocked when she had told them on the phone and her dad went a little crazy, calling her foolish for getting knocked up at such a young age until her mother told him off and reminded him that they were the same age when they had Nessie's older brother, Edward. She didn't really keep in touch with her older brother, so she hoped her parents would tell him the news, he had moved up to New York with his girlfriend, Bella to study. She remembered being disgusted at how love sick the pair were but now she's the same with Jacob and she finally gets it.

It was another couple of hours before Nessie's parents had left, heading back to the outskirts of Seattle where they now lived, her mother was a caterer and her father a Dr for his own private surgery.

And once the door shut completely behind her parents retreating figures, Jacob let out a deep breath he didn't know he had been holding, finally feeling more relaxed within his home.

Nessie giggled, turning to embrace Jacob into a hug. "You did good, baby."

Jacob chuckled returning Nessie's warm embrace, he moved to rest his chin on her head gently. "Thanks, I did my best."

Jacob and Nessie spent their evening relaxing after what felt like a busy and hectic day entertaining her parents. They now led in bed together, Jacob had his laptop in his lap, responding to a few work related emails all the while Nessie was snuggled up to him, her head resting on his chest and she slowly traced his abs.

They were both content in that moment. The stress of finally meeting Nessie's parents out of their minds, done and dusted. Jacob's family and friends were over the moon for them both, and it was funny to them how everything had worked out, from Nessie planning to be a surrogate for Jacob and his now ex-wife, Irina. Okay she didn't know at the start, as Jacob wanted to surprise her, thinking she had wanted to settle and have a baby with him. But how wrong he was.

But in the end as Jacob looked down at Nessie tracing lines on his abs, her long wavy locks cascaded over him and the bed, he couldn't help but be grateful for finding out Irina was cheating on him, he was falling for Nessie the moment he saw her and even though he'd never cheat on his now ex wife he knew it wouldn't be right to constantly think of Nessie while with her.

And Jacob knew he would do his best to give Nessie everything she needed or desired. Especially now.

Jacob knew this pregnancy was going to be a bumpy ride with a lot of new experiences and memories to make and he couldn't wait.
