TWO5 Outlines Part 1

Hi, so I'm gonna start writing the The Wrath of Five (TWO5) outlines, and ultimately the ending. Broadly, the remaining acts can be divide into these parts

Part 1:The Capitol Infiltration

Part 2: The War & its Victims

Part 3: The ?Assassination and The End of War

Part 4: Post-War Consequences

Part 5: Epilogue (the shortest)

These are all mainly based on the THG: Mockingjay. The last chapter that I wrote is chapter 13, which happens slightly before Part 1. Please re-read at least that one before reading these outlines if you want to get orientation

Side Plot 1 – District 5:

With the help of Valka's dragons, Fergus and his District 5 make-shift soldiers manage to attack and destroy several major power plants in District 5. This leads to a wipeout of electricity across the whole Panem, except District 13.

Side Plot 2 – The Capitol Presidential Palace: Astrid finds out that she was brought to the Presidential Palace because the President's granddaughter, Bonnie, had specially asked for to join her 6th birthday party. It's quite dour celebration, because the only people at this party is Bonnie herself, Astrid, and bodyguards, including a fearsomely huge and scary one called that Bonnie is nicknamed Baby (basically the creepy baby toy from Toy 3 that acts as Lotso's thug). Astrid awkwardly tries to play with Bonnie with her toys (cue toy story cameo), and she ). She finds out about Daisy, who apparently is Lotso's daughter and Bonnie's mum (sorry, Bonnie's canon parents aren't in this story). The blackout happens in the Capitol, though with emergency lighting, and both Bonnie and Astrid are escorted to a saferoom. Bonnie is oblivious. Astrid is tense and wary.

Side plot 3: The Capitol – The Butterfly Room

Elinor is being tortured for information about the Man in the Moon and his spy network, but she refuses to say anything. When the power goes out, she is sent back to her cell where she is comforted by Sandy, who's the golden-haired Avox. By now Elinor knows that he's aware of the rebellions, and though she is suffering in prison, she knows the blackout probably means a victory in District 5. We learn the Elinor was the one who started sending the message 'The Man in the Moon is dead' message through the rebel districts, and all the way to District 13, and she did so via Sandy.

Side plot 4: The Capitol – The Butterfly Room

Jack Frost is undergoing 'training' in his facility when the blackout happens. He takes this opportunity to attack his wardens.

Main Plot: District 13 - Merida and Elsa, who are both still in prison, finds out about the blackout that happens in Panem because of District 5 efforts because it's announced over the PA in District 13. Merida initiate conversation between them, and finds out about Elsa being worried about Anna still being held by the Capitol, and her worry is affecting her role as the Snow Queen.

Merida get released from prison and is supposed to go for therapy, but she skips out on this to go talk to Hiro about his hacking work into the Capitol.

Feeling kind of annoyed that she missed out on District 5 action, Merida gets to the crazy idea to use the blackout time to go and rescue the Snow Queen's sister. Positing it as 'her contribution to the Rebellion'. Hiro eventually agrees to help, using 3d printing to make Merida a bow and gives Baymax some armour that he's been designing (Hiro himself won't join this venture, since he hasn't built his exoskeleton armour yet, and he is still paralysed waist down in this story.) Ralph hears about it, think it's a bad idea, but understands Merida's desire to prove herself and tags along. They figure they need more aerial poewr, so rope in Hiccup and Toothless to join mainly for Toothless. On the night that they leave, they break Elsa out of prison. Hiccup and Merida fly out on Toothless, which leads them to do some talking. Elsa and Ralph fly out on Baymax. Hiro stays behind to be the 'guy in the chair'.

The Capitol

Hiro arranges for them to meet a fellow Rebel spy who knows how to get into the Underground, and that person is Flynn Rider of course. As Flynn helps to sneak them into the Underground, he reveals that he's there to look for the 'Eden Project' as he thinks Rapunzel's alive.

Those who had close contact with Rapunzel in the Games, who is mainly Hiccup, Hiro and Ralph, all vote in favour of helping Flynn rescue her. Elsa is reluctant, because she wants to focus on saving Anna. Merida is the only active naysayer, because she thinks side missions would risk exposing them to Capitol security.

Hiro, with the info he swiped from the Capitol, helps them navigate through the Underground while avoiding the patroling guards. They meet up with Sandy the Avox, who leads them through but also tells them about 'another spy who is captured from District 5', which gains Merida's interest.

The loss of focus leads to the team quarrelling and splitting up: Elsa is the first to go off alone to find Anna; Eugene, Hiccup (Toothless is left above ground coz he's too big) and Baymax go to find Rapunzel; Merida, Ralph and Sandy go to find the 'District 5 spy'. Basically, the Underground is a labyrinth with traps (though not all are working with the power down), so all of them are relying on Hiro to guide them through, but with them split up, he can only help one of them at a time.

Merida's group is the first to succeed without getting into too much trouble, and Merida's of course shocked to find her mum here. Elinor, in her weakened tortured state, can't move very fast, but Ralph can carry her fine. Given that they're aiming for at least 3 rescues in the Underground, they go look for an aircraft to carry them.

Elsa, being on her own, manages to defeat the guards who come her way with ice, but not before they sound the alarm, launching the Underground into high alert. While weaving around the rooms and hiding, she comes across a destroyed facility covered in ice and dead bodies. Observing the surveillance cameras, the ice actually looks like it came out of nowhere and just struck a bunch of people. She meets Pitch, who holds her gunpoint. He forces her to play a game of chess with him – if she wins, he'll tell her where Anna is. If he wins, he presses the alarm to call the guards in.

While they play, Pitch reveals to her that he's also a mutant, like her, except that his powers only came about after her was exposed to the dangerous chemical of Iron Argonite (aka. FeAr) for a prolonged period of time. He has a theory that mutant manifest their powers under high stress situations, and powers that emerge are usually related to what the mutant was exposed to at that time.

Elsa: And…how many mutants exactly have you met, that you've come to such a conclusion?

Pitch only grins back mysteriously.

Elsa wins the game, so Pitch tells her where Anna is. He also reveals that he's actually a sleeper agent for the Rebellion, known only as the 'Wild Card'. Back in the 74th Hunger Games where he was the Head Gamemaster, he had designed the arena to accommodate Hiro's plan and actually helped to cover all the tracks that Hiro made. Calhoun only came in to take the fall for his plan, and thus allow him to continue being a sleeper agent in the Capitol.

Elsa: But… so people died under your hand in those years you ran the Games! Children!

Pitch: Oh, to be young again. (he laughs) You're incredibly naïve, aren't you? (he leans forward, in a chilling tone) I'm helping the rebellion because I hate Lotso, not because I want to save the innocent.

Elsa: …Why do you hate Lotso?

Pitch: Well, my prolonged exposure to Iron Argonite wasn't by choice.

He gives her a lot of helpful information to help her and her team escape, but when he realises that they're also planning to extract Rapunzel (Elsa slips this bit of info by accident before racing off to find Anna), Pitch gets flipped. He releases out his mutant black horses on the Eden Garden (area where Rapunzel is being held), with the intention of killing anyone dares try to rescue Rapunzel. After all, Pitch isn't done doing experiments and studying her.

Meanwhile, Elsa sounding the alarm results in panic, which lead to Eugene, Baymax and Hiccup having to be extra careful when moving around. They find the Eden Project area, with all the glowing yellow flowers and finally locate Rapunzel's prison, which a large metal tower. Eugene is the one who scales the tower, while Hiccup and Baymax face off the guards there, with Hiccup learning to use all the dragon materials he brought along, like Frightmare saliva and all that.

Rapunzel at the point of time is trapped in endleas hallucinations, with a lot it involving bad memories of the Games and Gothel. While she can't remember his name, she remembers trusting Eugene, so she lets him lead her out of the tower despite her hallucinations. The two, plus Baymax and Hiccup make their way out, only to have their way blocked out by mutant black horses. They manage to fend off most, but one particular killer horse is extremely aggressive until Hiccup grabs an injection shot from golden flower and stabs the horse. The horse turns from black into a white horse that is no longer a killing machine, and he's apparently dubbed Maximus.

After that the electricity turns on, so the party gets further split up. Basically, coz the Capitol operates by the Monster Inc. doors, so they are basically stuck trying to find the right cards to get the right doors, but they keep ending up in weirder and weird places.

When Hiccup ends up separated from the rest, he does find his way into the Presidential Palace. When he sneaks around trying to find another door, he is found by Astrid, who helps to hide him from the staff there. At this point, no one else knows that five kids had survived the 74th Hunger Games, so she is shocked. He doesn't tell her anything, but he does explain that he's in the rebellion now. He asks her to come. She doesn't dare, but promises not give him away. He finds another door that leads to the Underground, and goes through it, leaving Astrid behind.

Elsa does eventually find Anna, who is happy to see her. So everyone who needs rescuing gets rescued, but because of all the doors being activated with the power back, it takes Hiro some maybe hacking into the Capitol to get the doors synchronised and have them lead to the hangar where they try to steal an aircraft, only to fail. They get an surprise rescue from Valka's dragons, who help to carry them off. But because the Capitol is very heavily guarded, lots of her dragons are killed in the process.

All are return to 13 successfully, some with injuries but nothing that lasting.

POST-RESCUE

They all get in huge trouble.

Valka is angry with Hiccup for forcing her to sacrifice her dragons, and for risking himself and Toothless. President Bludvist in turn is angry with her for 'wasting Mutts'.

Hiro's blatant hacking has not gone unnoticed, and the Capitol is now aware that District 13 has access to their networks. Merida, as the instigator, gets in the most trouble and is meant to be sent to jail, but Elsa defends her, saying that Merida at least was better at keeping District 13's promises than District 13 was. Still, Merida and Elsa both go jail for a while, while Ralph is suspended and demoted.

All the rescues get medical care, of which Elinor has the worse physical injuries, and Rapunzel has the worse mental ones; but generally, they're mostly stable.

Hiro edits footage (recorded from Baymax's cameras) of their breakout from the Capitol and broadcasts it over the Districts as a propaganda piece to show people that 5 kids from the 74th Hunger Games. This sparks hope in the Districts, especially when Elsa come on the footage doing her ice things, and increases the number of people joining the revolution. This turns out to be under orders of the Man-in-the-Moon, who is not dead and is in fact Elinor Dunbroch. Under her authority, those in jail are released. After Elinor proves her status as the Man-in-the-Moon to President Bludvist (and thus gets a seat on his council of the Rebellion), she takes all the children under her protection and authority.

Elsa and Anna get used to be being a family again, and Elsa is willing to do the Snow queen role since her sister is now safe, though she's still resentful to District 13 authority.

Merida reunites with her mum, albeit awkwardly and they still have disagreements though they are glad to see each other again. They talk about going back to District 5 to meet the rest of their family again, which they do eventually.

Hiccup is more contemplative, since he's increasing aware that in the war, District 2 (his home) will clash with the Rebellion definitely, since all the loyalty to the Capitol is strong there. Especially after his meeting with Astrid again, he has a lot of hesitation about his place in the Rebellion.

Ralph and Hiro are largely fine.

Rapunzel is struggling with her hallucinations, and Eugene patiently supports her, but she's not honestly recovering very well. She has a lot of PTSD about using her hair to heal things, which conflicts with her own kindness and desire to help others. But everytime she attempts to heal someone, she gets a panic attack and goes in a delusional episodes. Eugene becomes aware that authorities of District 13 ultimately want to recruit Rapunzel in the medical team to help soldiers, but also want to continue to studying her hair for its healing properties much like the Capitol did. Fearful of how this would further damage her, he plots to cut her hair in her sleep, knowing that she would never agree with him. He succeeds, angering both Rapunzel and District 13 authorities, but when Rapunzel sees how the District 13 didn't care about her wellbeing in all this and how they quickly deemed her unimportant now that her healing ability is gone, she chooses to forgive Eugene and their relationship is repaired. A/N: Basically, Eugene and Rapunzel's arc in the Wrath of Five is supposed to be based on Finnick and Annie from the THG books, in which Annie is the one who went crazy surviving her Hunger games while Finnick was the one who became a prostitute to the Capitol, but somehow they still stayed in love anyways. They were just background characters in THG, but seriously – they were the best couple in the books. Who cares about Peeta and Katniss…

Next would be about The War. TBC
