A/N: Hey guys, sorry it's been a while since I've uploaded an outline here. This one is super long as a result, and has a lot of plot lines that I was very excited to think up of, but would have taken really long to write out.

TWO5 Outline 3: The War Part 2
SIDE-PLOT 1: Emma Alone
The Capitol
-Stuck alone in the Presidential Palace, Emma explores it for hiding spots. She encounters Bonnie, and managed to trick her into helping her hide by pretending to a wishing fairy or smth. Bonnie generally treat her well.
When she's alone with Bonnie's toys however, the toys come to alive (...or do they?), which is basically the good Toy Story characters. They kind of capture her Gulliver's Travels style and interrogate her as a spy that wants to hurt Bonnie. While Bonnie is occupied for the next few days, Emma becomes a prisoner to the toys.

SIDE-PLOT 2: Mrs. Overland Alone
Mrs. Overland seeks out Minister Corona (Rapunzel's father, if y'all don't recall) and it turns out that both Minister Corona and his wife (basically King Frederick and Arianna from the Tangled series) recognise her, except that she apparently looks much younger than either of them expected. This is because Mrs. Overland had been a full grown adult at the time that they were children, and in the present time, she now appeared younger than them. Moreover, everyone had thought her to be dead - like her father.
Mrs. Overland thus regales some of her BACKSTORY.

SIDEPLOT 3 (WITHIN SIDEPLOT 2) Mrs Overland's BACKSTORY
Mrs Overland - or Abigail - had grown up in the Capitol, in the early days of Panem just as Lotso became the President. Her father had been a respected scientist under President Lotso, and she had followed in his footsteps, before eventually deviating out into her own interests in horticulture and botany. Her experiments lead to the creation of a Panacea - a cure of all ills - which grew into the form of a golden flower.
Knowing how dangerous the flower could be in the wrong hands, her father suggested destroying it. But Lotso had gotten wind of it, and had them both arrested for trying to destroy it. Abigail and her father try to escape. Her father, as a genius engineer, had created a crude teleportation device that would send them hopefully somewhere safe. Abigail had managed to escape using this portal, but her father did not.
Abigail found herself landing outside District 10, and was discovered by a shepherd working nearby called Jackson Overland. With his help, she becomes a secret refugee in District 10, and finds out that due to rudimentary calculations of her father's teleportation device, she actually landed ~50 years (approximately. I can't math) in the future and knew that her father was most likely dead, and Lotso's power was greater than ever. Unable to do much anything, she adapts to District 10 life, eventually marries Jackson Overland and has two children, one who takes her husband's namesake and the other who she had been separated from in the Capitol.
END OF FLASHBACK (and thus SIDEPLOT 3)

SIDEPLOT 2 continued: Abigail alone
After explaining this to the Coronas, Abigail appeals to them to help her find her daughter again, highlighting their shared pasts, disillusionment with the capitol and offers them an escape from the Capitol in return. They agree, and help her enter the Capitol network to trace Emma's location. Somehow, the result of this makes Abigail think that her daughter is dead. Distraught and furious, she gives the Coronas her fixed teleportation devices, which she had modified to carry two - both herself and Emma - and advices them use it to flee to District 13.
Armed with knowledge from her hacking, Abigail infiltrates the Presidential Palace.

SIDEPLOT 1: Emma Alone
After fixing one of the toys, Emma earns the toys trust and they strike a truce with her. They agree to help her find her mother, or at least a way out. They take her to some surveillance room, and see Abigail sneaking around the Capitol just before the stuff fizzles out. She goes to find her, only for the toys to say that they have to leave her now, since they cannot be seen by humans. So Emma goes to search for her Ma alone.

SIDEPLOT 2: Abigail Alone
Believing everyone she loves is dead, Abigail Overland decides to lock down the Presidential palace before blowing it up. She succeeds in planting some explosives. She also tries to wipe all the research that the Capitol has on the Panacea flower, but this ends up getting her caught. Ungunned and out numbered, she finally uses her powers after years of burying them by using the plants in the area to destroy her enemies.
So yeah, Jack and Emma's mum is a mutant too, with powers similar to Poison Ivy. Surprise!
(A/N: A hint to Abigail having plant-based powers would be how she had a garden back in Chapter 7.)
A flashback to Abigail's past would show that her ability to create the Panacea was in part due to her own botanokinesis and Lotso was aware of her powers, and wanted to use it for his agendas. That's why Abigail's father wanted to get her out of the Capitol. And here it'd be revealed that Abigail's father is Robert Callaghan, one of the 'four brothers' that were supposed to rule over Panem.
(A/N: And yes, Robert Callaghan as in the one from Big Hero 6. Since Jack's mum's face is never shown in the ROTG movie, and Abigail from BH6 is a brunette, then eh, why not? So yeah, Abigail Callaghan is Mrs. Overland.)
(A/N again: The History of Teleportation in this story
So the teleportation device that Abigail's father, Robert Callaghan, is the same silent sparrow one from the BH6 movie, which is a giant ring and requires the user to be wearing gear in order to survive the process. Years later, North finds this data and attempts to create a smaller portable teleportation device based on the Silent Sparrow designs (which he stole) but gives up after hitting a roadblock. Tadashi picks up shortly after to continue the same thing, and succeds in making teleportation bands (which he gives to Gogo during the 73rd Hunger Games. These bands were also used in the 74th Hunger Games more successfully. With Hiro's design, North and Bunny tried to make their own, after which Bunny attempted to complete on his own when North was killed. Abigail evetnually helps Bunny fix it, only to trigger it during their escape from District 10, accidentally taking both herself and Emma to the Capitol. And yeah.
On the Capitol's side, the teleportation tech that Robert Callaghan spearheaded had been used to develop the 'Monsters Inc.' door system in the Capitol, that is prominently used in the Undergrounds.
Okay, A/N over. )
Back on the story. Abigail is subdued and taken to Lotso, who recognises her. It turns out of her defeat was faked, and she uses her powers over plants to stop the guards and councilmen from getting in the way while she targets Lotso. Oh, yeah,I wanted a vaguely Inigo Montoya moment where she goes, "You killed my father. Prepare to die."
Before she can shoot him with her stolen gun, she is shot herself by Pitch Black. In true tropey fashion, Emma witnesses this through a hidden vent in the room.
Though no one else notices, Pitch seems to have noticed Emma in the vent. She crawls away, but he doesn't rat her out ... for some reason.
Pitch's act of act of loyalty raises Lotso's opinion of him considerably.

MAINPLOT:
District 13
During one of calm moods with Kristoff, Jack suddenly starts tearing unceasingly and becomes inconsolable, but is unable to explain his wrought emotions. Frustration leads to an explosive bout of icy fury that threaten to blow up his holding facilities - and also District 13. The only one who can reach him of course is Elsa.
Jack, who still is pretty antagonistic to her, doesn't take it very well, but under Anna's encouragement, she goes to confront him, and ends up subduing him by basically just hugging very tightly, even against his struggles against her. He does quieten down, buf when Elsa tries to comfort him and talk to him, his response is cold and suspicious. He admits to her that he is aware that the snow queen he sees in his visions is not the same person as Elsa, but he can't shake the feelings that Elsa might share more similarities to the his hallucinated 'snow queen' than everyone thinks.
His conversation makes Elsa pretty unsettled, especially when she finds a creepy written message, this time in her room saying something like 'You don't belong here.'
Anyway, back in the war stuff, most of the Districts gets to be won over. However, while fighting to take over District 6, they face difficulty as the Capitol now released their 'Super-soldiers' - Peacekeepers enhanced with the healing serum made from their experiments on Rapunzel. This slows the war considerable and causes some loss of morale amongst some rebels, so Elsa and Merida, are pulled for more propanganda ads.
Hiccup encounters Snotlout on the battlefield, who tries to kill him thanks to the crazy imposed by the healing serum. Seeing how much his old childhood bully is suffering from the hands of the Capitol, Hiccup kills him to stop his suffering.
Shaken by the incident, a surprisingly civil convo with Merida leads Hiccup to speak on the propanganda tv, and it turns out that she managed to get a number of other ppl in District 13 to share their stories on the network - in a way of humanising the Rebellion. After Hiro manages to hack the Capitol broadcast, Hiccup tells about the healing serum and how it hurts those who are supposed to protect the Capitol. "But why are you protecting something that won't protect you?" He appeals to the Peacekeepers, esp. to those of his District, to refuse take the healing serums for the sake of their own health.

SIDEPLOT 4: ASTRID
District 2
This broadcast troubles many people in the District, and Astrid who trust Hiccup encourages people of the District 2 to rethink their loyalty to the Capitol. This open rebellion leads her to be arrested, only to be set free by Stoick. Astrid and Stoick have a convo, where Astrid asks Stoick why he still supports the Capitol when it's clear that they don't value anyone in the Districts. Stoick's reasoning is that while he knows the Capitol is hard master, he understands how the Capitol works enough to ensure that his District stays relevant and useful to them. District 13 however being relatively self-sufficient doesn't need any District but themselves and they would not hesitate to sacrifice greater numbers for the sake of power. He basically says that while the Capitol is bad, he thinks the authorities in District 13 would be worse.
Astrid privately disagrees as she watches her privately recorded clips of Hiccup's interview, believing that at least the Rebellion would never allow another Hunger Games again.

MAINPLOT:
District 13
Eventually, the Coronas do teleport in from the Capitol, and to earn their amnesty there they bring information that they filched from the Capitol. The info about how all the healing serum soldiers need to hear the healing incantation to heal themselves prove to useful, since this makes them realise that the soldiers who are on the serum are probably hooked to some kind of hearing device.
With Hiro's help, a jammer is developed and this helps render the advantage of the healing serum by the Capitol kinda useless.
Rapunzel reunites with her parents also, though it's kinda awkward at times. But still nice.
So basically the War proceeds and the Rebellion does very well, till the point that like District 1, District 2 and the Capitol remain the only area still under Capitol control. The rest is all under Rebellion and that's great.
District 2
Because District 2 has like most military strength from the Capitol, the 'Guardians' (consisting Elsa, Merida, Hiccup, Ralph, and Baymax, with Hiro giving commentary) come in to help with the military - mainly Elsa of course. Hiccup himself is thinking of a possible diplomatic solution. At the front lines, Astrid manages to get his attention, and a meet up with her reveals that there are some amongst the District 2 ranks who are feeling the losses from the healing serum catastrophe very severely, and there's a chance that some will switch if offered.
He confides this to — surprisingly — Merida, who helps him draft a speech that he can give. The next morn of battle he gives a grand speech telling the people of District 2 to make peace. To help, Astrid is the first to come forward and throw a weapon down, and others come forward in kind. Stoick himself watches but doesn't do anything, seeming sceptical.
Out of nowhere however, a shot is fired at Hiccup, but he's knocked out of the way by Merida, who takes the bullet instead.
While she passes out, a full blown fight escalates between District 2 and the Rebels. It's a short battle however, because Stoick does eventually surrender of District 2. After some skirmishes, they do take over District 2, though remaining Capitol loyalist escape to District 1.
The Rebellion celebrates victory over. Merida recovers in hospital from her shot wound (protected by a vest), and Hiccup visits, and they finally solidly become friends (yay!). A chat between Astrid and Stoick reveal that Stoick only chose to surrender because he was choosing to trust Hiccup for once, but he still didn't trust the leaders of District 13. He of course encounters Valka, and the reunion between them is heart-wrenching but sweet. Hiccup's a bit confused by this turn of events, but overall he's kinda happy with the outcome. Also, Astrid totally kisses him, like at the end of the 1st HTTYD movie.
At this time of relative respite while the Capitol licks its wounds, I wanted to have Rapunzel and Eugene's wedding, as a reference to Annie and Finnick's wedding.
(A/N: By this time in the story, Rapunzel would be abt just 18, but yes, it's kinda young to get married. Also, the canon Rapunzel x Eugene couple does deliberately put off their marriage for some time. But I would justify the marriage in this story simply because in war, people tend to rush into marriage because they don't know if they'll survive it. Also, in the Hunger Games universe, people in the Capitol were all ready for Katniss and Peeta to be married...and they were like 16. So yeah, I stand by having this wedding.)
Anyway, the whole wedding has dancing like the THG movie and the whole thing is broadcast to the other districts, also like the THG movie. It's gorgeous and beautiful — and also Pascal totally is there with the rings and he totally makes friends with the white horse that used to be a muttation called Maximus. And everyone is there having fun at the ceremony. Stoick and Valka totally dance together. Rapunzel gets a father-daughter dance with her new found dad. Merida spends time bonding with her brothers while sitting in a wheelchair, while their parents enjoy themselves. Ralph and Hiro take turns stuffing their faces. Baymax helping to carry the desserts they stole. Anna dances with Kristoff (they're still dating, btw, and it's cute), until she notices Elsa sneaking off with some of the food.
It turns out Elsa wanted to bring some of the food to Jack, who's still in an icy containment cell after his outburst. They find him to be sleeping, and the two girls quietly slip the food in his food drawer for him to find eventually. The two of them talk about Elsa's guilt regarding him, and Anna tells her that it's not her fault, but Elsa still thinks it is.
While everyone is having a nice party, President Drago Bludvist is grimly sitting at a corner with Sgt. Calhoun, and they cryptically discuss about how Stoick's surrender of District 2 was unexpected, and how he was a problem — amongst many — that they would have to deal with.

Subplot 4: Pitch Schemes
Capitol - Presidential Palace
Pitch gets a lot of flack from whole "healing serum super soldier" thing going wrong, but Lotso decides to still trust him given that Pitch had just saved his life. Pitch suggests that the next best thing they can do is withdraw support from District 1 and focus on defending the Capitol, which Lotso agrees to.
On his own later on, Pitch apparently manages to figure out where Emma is and captures her. Emma is very angry with him, try to kick him and stuff - which she can't, since she's very small and he holds her by the scruff of her collar. He tosses her in one of the prisons in the Underground for the meanwhile, since he needs to prepare the Capitol defences against the Rebellion.
He goes to a room full of Iron Argonite dust and meditates. As the shadows curl and loop around him ...
...miles away in District 13, Jack Frost is startled awake, black marks spreading from his heart to the rest of his body, a soundless word upon his lips.

And I'll leave it here for now. Stay tuned for the next part.
