My work – actual work – increased because some dipshit forgot to do his shit, so I couldn't finish the edit yesterday. What I do have, though, is this ting
A bit of Koneko aka Shirone's earlier life before meeting Issei and the fluff gang
Don't worry. It doesn't end in a sad tone like the previous one
Everyday Life with Supernatural Girls
A Side Chapter
What About Sisters?
She remembered a day – it was like any other day; the sun up and shining, snows falling like feathers, white sleets everywhere her eyes could see. It was cold and her stomach kept making noises.
Shirone was hungry.
But so was her sister.
So she kept quiet.
It was a long road with uncertain future. She had no clue how long she had to walk, travel from places to places, how long the snow will keep on pouring and how high it would be tomorrow, but she never complained.
Ever since their mother died, well… nothing was the same. Father just stopped caring – as though he died as well. The first few weeks, it was understandable. Shirone felt sad too, so did her sister. But didn't he still have them?
It seemed news traveled that the man that was once their father, was in no condition to care for two daughters. They were taken away by the agency, she was guessing. She didn't really mind, but she did hope her father would had at least resisted a little. It was the first time she felt unwanted.
When she met their first 'Caretaker', a family of two; a middle-aged couple. It felt… odd, to say the least. She had no connection to that person and yet she was to live together with them. It was alright, though, because her sister stayed with her.
Although… she didn't understand why she would leave like that, unannounced, and even stole a little bit of money from them. She wanted to ask why but somehow, she knew her sister wouldn't answer, or would just steer the topic away. Well, it didn't matter. The couple was kind, but they weren't her sister.
Her sister snuck away, but so did she.
She got angry, but she didn't send her back either. Shirone always hoped her sister wouldn't stay angry at her. She knew she didn't.
She never regretted leaving that house with her sister. It had warmth, sure. Food on the table everyday and night, and comfy beds, but Koneko knew she couldn't live there without her sister. She wouldn't feel any of those when she constantly kept thinking of her sister.
It didn't mean there weren't times when she wished they never left, however.
Like that one time when they huddled together in the rain.
Or that one time her sister 'found' a shirt that somehow fit her exactly.
Or that time her sister said she had already eaten when she hadn't, so she could finish the entire bread.
Or the times when she stayed up all night to keep watch, so that their money wouldn't get stolen again.
Or the times when her sister thought she was asleep, and asked why mom had to die, why father was so pitiful, why she left that couple's house in the first place, why she had to bring her sister through all of this.
Or during the many nights where she cried silently to not wake her up, not realizing Shirone was awake the whole time, trying not to cry herself.
She never regretted a moment, but she did wish everything would get better for them.
She thought her wish was finally fulfilled not just her, but her sister as well, had found a new place that they could actually call home at last. And it seemed they would be staying together for a long time, all because of a selfless young man, who was admittedly a little bit entranced by her sister's chest, but nonetheless a good man.
Many people said parents made the most sacrifices for their kids. Fathers worked tirelessly day and night, mothers took care of their kids endlessly, or vice versa, or even both for single fathers or mothers. She didn't say those people were wrong. She had no doubt plenty of fathers and mothers were like that.
But what about sisters?
The End
danzy wtf ( ͡° ʖ̯ ͡°)

it's a lot simpler since it's Koneko's POV, and since she's slightly younger than canon
