A/N: Hello. :) You must be wondering what the purpose was for me to create a crossover story between TLOU and Prototype. Well, after I watched the storylines of both franchises, I became so eager as to come up with this story. Of course, I'm still concerned that a lot of you may not be into it. So, to be sure about whether or not it is the case, I have created a trailer for it. It'll be the first one of a few to come as it is not just focused on any one character. For now, I think Ellie deserves the stage, in anticipation of The Last of Us Part II (which I don't know if I can handle, to be frank. :( ) After that, Joel gets his share of the spotlight. As for the third, I'll leave that a surprise. ;) Until then, I hope you enjoy. :)

In a rainy day at dawn, an infected raven, with half of its face seemingly burned off and exposing a dark red substance in the cracks of its scar, was pecking at an unmoving corpse, the blood spurting up from from each peck it made on the flesh. After which, a logo for Naughty Dog appeared.
The raven proceeded to peck on it before turning to see a young girl with red-brown hair tied up in a small ponytail, a blue jean jacket over her white shirt, dark jeans, a shotgun, and a tattoo on her right arm consisting of a moth in between one plant that outlined her skin and the other with a black color. Not long after, it took off from its meal and into the sky as she watched. After a moment, the girl looked to the corpse, a man who'd no doubt lost his life during the chaos. In his hand was a small picture of him and a young girl with short brown hair. The girl trembled her right hand as she grunted softly before promptly walking away from the inhumane sight before it showed a flashback of her in a room beside a woman with dark skin, a jean jacket over her shirt and dark jeans as their voices lingered in her mind.
"All this time... I thought you were dead."
"And I owe you an explanation. Let's get outta here, and I'll tell you all about it."
"I see a red door and I want it painted black."
The girl continued her walk in the ruined city as a newspaper flew by and landed on the ground. The headline spoke of an incident, the words reading, "Admittance Spikes at Area Hospitals! 100% increase due to mysterious infection" before it flew away to the air again as the girl walked by herself on the streets once more while she narrated to herself.
"No colors anymore. I want them to turn black."
After the Blacklight triggered a mutation in the Cordyceps fungus, everything went to heck.
A good example of that was shown as the girl heard snarling on her left and noticed a creature with red ooze pulsing out as it went after her before she got out her shotgun and aimed it point blank at its head as her own voice called out as a brief flashback changed its appearance so that the creature after her was a man who'd recently become infected as it had blank eyes and pale skin.
"Riley!"
When the shot rang out, the creature fell dead on the floor before the girl proceeded to walk on the streets as rain poured down while she narrated to herself again.
And I lost... everything.
The flashback then shifted to show the two of them sitting beside together at sunset in a building as Riley spoke to her.
"We can just... be all poetic. And lose our minds together."
In the present, the girl took notice of a group of soldiers in black combat gear such as boots, protective vest, and fingerless gloves, with a military olive-drab colored full body armor with their masks holding dark blue lenses over their eyes before she narrated to herself again.
The truth is... I wanted to take option one and die.
In that moment, the girl had another flashback as she was ambushed by a man inside a house before she was pinned on the ground where she was shedding her tears out of fear while an unknown man who wore a black cloak with a hood and a red moth symbol on his back went up to her before he spoke gently to her.
"Three weeks since you've been infected, you say? I wonder..."
"Please, stop!"
Her plea was only answered by a fist coated in red and black matter plunging into her chest, making her scream before the matter that coated his hand spread itself on her as he smiled before it showed her blood cells being penetrated by a foreign black virus, followed by them exploding with a black outline inside her as she saw a smile on the culprit's face over his hood while the girl narrated.
But someone had other plans. Then I found out the truth.
It then showed the soldiers taking notice of the girl as they aimed their weapons at her while one of them spoke to her.
"You're trespassing in unauthorized territory. Put your weapon down and your hands in the air."
"I look inside myself and see my heart is black."
In response, the girl set her weapon to the ground and raised her arms to the air, seemingly unfazed by the interaction she'd received before narrating to herself again as her tattoo began to glow red.
My name is Ellie Williams. And I'm gonna kill... every last one of them.
"No colors anymore. I want them to turn black."
In an instant, her right arm began to get coated in a red and black matter before she slammed it to the ground with a yell, triggering a massive tendril burst as it went on the ground and sprouted thorns that pierced through their chests. Those that survived aimed to shoot her down only for her to move her tendril right at them by the side, smashing them into the buildings while also piercing them. After which, she retreated her tendril back into her arm and picked up her shotgun from the floor. However, she was met by a battalion from behind her as she took notice of a tank beside the outrageous number of Blackwatch soldiers as it fired at her, forcing her to jump up to avoid the missile while her arm turned into a scimitar from the red and black matter before she used it to cleave the tank into two pieces, causing it to explode, knocking the soldiers away before she used the smokescreen to pick off the rest of the soldiers.
This time, Ellie began to use her switchblade as she snuck up on one of them before slicing him by the throat. After that, Ellie's arms became coated in the same red and black material before she pierced another soldier's chest from behind before leaping at another and slashing him all at once, tearing him to pieces instantly before she felt a bullet passing by her shoulder as it grazed itself against her shoulder, making her wince before turning to see the Blackwatch soldiers firing at her, forcing her to turn her right arm into a shield to block the gunfire.
"I look inside myself and see my heart is black.
No colors anymore. I want them to turn black."
After a moment, Ellie had enough of the attack and was forced to push her shield at them, knocking them away as it plowed through them. She did another round of a shield plow on the soldiers before the gunfire ceased. However, that didn't mean the attack was over. Ellie took notice of a couple of Hunters charging at her with a snarling roar. This forced her to get out her shotgun and coat it in the red and black matter, turning the shotgun into a more demonic appearance as she fired a shot at one of the hunters, incapacitating it as it was shot on the chest before she aimed it at the other Hunter and shot it at the head.
In that moment, as lightning lit up the sky, Ellie took notice of a shadow of a giant before turning around to see a Goliath raising its giant hand to crush her, only for Ellie to jump out of the way and use her weapon to shoot at it. However, while she did manage to get some damage on it, evident by its bullet holes on its grotesque figure, Ellie wasn't able to bring it down as when she tried to fire again, it simply clicked, having run out of billets to fire. It wasn't the best timing for her in this situation.
"Oh, crap."
Having regained its composure, the Goliath raised its skinnier arm composed of a scythe and aimed to bring it down on her. However, Ellie got out of the way just in time before it got stuck to the ground before she turned her right arm into a giant blade as she used it to swiftly tear it apart from its arm, making it groan. Ellie attempted follow up the assault with the attack on its face, but before she could do anything, it roared at her, knocking her away to a building wall before it raised its giant fist and prepared to punch her into paste. Ellie prepared herself for the worst with her shield, but before it could land a hit, an unknown figure dove right at its chest and punched it to the ground with a mighty thud just as lightning struck the air.
"I wanna see it painted, painted, painted black. Black as night, black as coal.
See the sun blotted out from the sky."
After a moment, Ellie lowered her shield just as the rain settled in. When she looked at the scene in front of her, she noticed the Goliath wasn't moving.
"Holy crap."
And adding to it, she noticed a man with dark skin, dressed in a red and black jacket, along with jeans as his arms that held the same red and black matter, only turned into powerful fists, turned them back to normal as he looked at her with confusion.
"You new around here, kid?"
Ellie's arms took their turn to change back to normal as she got her breath back.
"Something like that. Who's asking?"
The man then held his hand out to her as he gave his answer.
"Not Blackwatch. You can bet your butt on that."
Ellie was hesitant at first, but after a moment of consideration, she shook his hand as she looked up to him while he added to his sentence.
"Welcome to the Red Zone."
The screen then went black as the following words faded in view saying, "It begins when everything ends." After which, the words faded away before "Prototype: The Last Strain" appeared.
"I look inside myself and see my heart is black."
Not long after, the words faded before it showed the video game cover for "Prototype: The Last Strain" with the left side of the cover showing a backdrop of a man with a sword made of a red and black matter while the silhouette of Heller with a blade occupied the right side. And in the middle of the cover, Ellie could be seen holding her upgraded shotgun while her tattoo glowed bright red silhouette. And beside the covers, which are assorted between PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the following words appeared as they said, "6.19.20".

A/N: So, what did you think? I realize that some of you may be into that, and some of you are against it. But like I said, it's to see how well you'd take it. Beside that, it depicts her when she'd learned everything she could up to that point, so a lot could happen between her infection and her meeting with Heller, really. You can expect this alternate retelling to take a more pivotal turn on Outbreak Day. I'd work on it more, but I'm currently working on my other story. Not to worry, though, because you can expect to see the official plot released on June 19th. As for the mysterious figure who infected Ellie, all I can tell you is that James Spader will portray him. Anyway, I hope this story gets you excited. :)
