Chapter 6

Rui stared at the door. Levi had been taken away nearly an hour ago. Why hadn't he fought his way out and come back? Why hadn't he plowed through them and returned to her yet? Why was she alone when he promised she wouldn't be?

Her body felt light, yet she couldn't move. What was going to happen to him? Why had he taken the blame for what she had done?

As she stared, something dawned on her. She had to move. Levi was in real danger now. She could not panic, she could not be afraid.

She felt her belly, sliding her hand over her bruises. "We'll get him back. Just you wait and see," she whispered. She quickly strapped back up, walking out in the dusk. If the roles had been reversed, there was no way Levi would allow this to happen. She was more than aware. The idea of going back to the farmhouse...spending every day with him as they had for that one amazing week was too good to pass up. She wanted that life. She promised herself she would fight to keep him. And fight was exactly what she would do.

Commander Erwen was still in his office. He sat at his desk scribbling something on papers. She opened the door and walked in, not bothering to knock. She was too focused to allow anything to change her stride.

Upon her enterence, Erwen stood, looking slightly confused.

"You're supposed to be...close my door," he said. She did as she was told.

"They took Levi. He confessed to the murder. They grabbed him right away as soon as they noticed Walker missing. We need to get him back," she said. It felt a bit off-putting to be giving orders to her Commander, but he had to know she was serious. Erwen stood, placing the papers aside. His blond hair was neat, as always, but something about his appearance seemed slightly disheveled, as if he hadn't slept in a while. That was out of the ordinary as the Commander almost always seemed perfectly sharp and professional - a stark contrast to Captain Levi who routinely gave off quite the opposite appearance. Watching them together was like watching a criminal take orders from a saint. She usually found it pretty humorous.

"How do you plan on doing such a thing?" He asked. She stood straight and tall, her chin high.

"Please sir, I cannot live with myself knowing he's been arrested for something I did. I need your help, but I'm willing to do anything to get him out," she asserted. Erwen smiled.

"Easy, Stone. I didn't tell you not to. I asked what your plan was."

Rui was positive that her choice to join the military had been a good one purely for the attire. She'd forgotten how vulnerable walking in a dress made her feel. Hange had picked one which accentuated every curve of her body. She hated it. Her breasts stuck out more, her waist was being squeezed and her hips hugged tightly. Her hair was done up with curls and she was actually wearing makeup. She felt like an imposter.

But then, that was precisely the idea.

"What we need to do is make sure you are drop dead gorgeous to ensure one of those young men in the MP's catches sight of you. They are a horny, lazy bunch, trust me, one of them is bound to notice you."

Zoe had been a very excited planner for this day. They had spent the entire night figuring out what they were going to do and Rui was nervous enough to pass out. But the idea that Levi get executed made her sick to her stomach. So she would follow through with everything.

Her flat shoes were a little louder than she realized. That might be a problem. She tried desperately not to notice the heads turning to look at her. She had never thought of herself as good looking, especially before Levi had forced her to gain weight. She had always assumed Levi's comments about her looks were mostly pillow talk. She was nearly horrified to find she actually did have sex appeal.

She made it to the courthouse, knowing Levi was directly underneath. She stepped as confidently as she could manage, looking around the front desk. She looked in every direction, trying to seem lost.

"Can I help you, miss?"

"The very first young man to approach you will be the one to work on. He will be the person most interested in you. Go as far as you can to get what you need. We won't tell Levi, you might have to go father than your comfortable with."

The MP who approached her wore a charming smile. He stood a little closer to her than she wanted, but it at least affirmed what Hange had said. She sighed, tossing a lock of hair over her shoulder.

"Oh, I'm just here to visit my boyfriend...excuse me, ex-boyfriend. I just can't believe he got locked up. I really am done with these scout boys. They're just too much trouble. But umm...I'm not really sure how to get to where he is," she said, placing a knuckle to her lips. The man smiled wider, his brown eyes glistening with intrigue.

"That's too bad for him, miss. I'd hate to loose someone like you," he smirked. He combed his fingers through his brown hair, stepping closer.

"Oh, that's so sweet of you. He never pays me compliments anymore. Maybe I should find a nice policeman like you. I bet it's so much less drama," she sighed. The young man looked around the courthouse, seeing a few people around. He leaned close to her, whispering into her ear.

"If you want, we can find a nice quiet spot and I'll pay you all the compliments you wish," he whispered huskily. Rui felt her face grow red. She tried to play off her horrific embarrassment as coy flirtatiousness.

"That's...so nice of you. I'd love that," she forced out through her discomfort. He took her arm, leading her outside the courthouse. His hand traveled down to the small of her back as he took her into an alleyway. Ironically, it was the very same alleyway Levi had had his way with her just days previous. That thought alone made her most nervous.

When they reached a private part of the alley, the man placed his hand on the wall next to her. She wasn't sure what to do from here. Her cheeks burned.

"Nervous? You're so cute. Girl like you should have someone who can take real good care of you, ya know? Not some scout," he said deeply, his lips brushed up her neck, his other hand traveled down her side. She swallowed hard.

"Yeah...are you offering yourself up? That's kind of you..." She whispered, running both hands up his chest.

"You'll have to get his key. Each MP has cuffs and, as you already know, every key works for every cuff. He will also have a key to the cells if he's in the courthouse. You'll have to sneak it off him. You'll most likely find it in his breast pocket. You'll need him again, so don't let him see you take it. If it's not there, keep searching. We will give you our cuff key so you can compare. Do not get a second cuff key. Get the cell key."

He was getting aggressive. His mouth attacked hers, his tongue delving in passed her teeth. She wanted to gag, gripping his collar. Her fingers slipped quickly into his pocket, thankfully pulling out a key. As he pulled off and sucked on her neck, she pulled out the cuff key, examining the difference. Thank goodness they didn't look a thing alike. She quickly pocketed both keys and patted his back.

"Wait, wait I can't do this yet! I have to break up with him first!" She said urgently. He didn't seem interested in stopping. He began hiking up her dress. She quickly grabbed his hand.

"Sir! I never expected a member of the military police to be so crude!" She exclaimed. The man removed his mouth from her skin.

"Oh, come on, lady, you were practically begging for it," he said in irritation. She was losing him. She still needed him for something, but there was no way she could let him go any further. She had to keep stringing him along. That said, her newfound strength and confidence made it increasingly difficult not to beat the creep out of him. But then she couldn't be positive that she could take him down as quickly and quietly as she would need.

"Yes, I understand, and believe me, I want to. But first, let me break up with him so I can have a clear conscience," she asked, rubbing down his arms.

Clearly Levi had spoiled her in the masculinity department because without his intoxicating smell, hot skin and dominating force, she may as well be getting felt up by an amorphous blob.

"Fine, but make it quick," he said, backing off her. She smiled nervously. What a gentleman.

As they walked back into the courthouse, he seemed careful not to touch her in front of prying eyes. He walked them into the door leading to the dungeon. A guard was standing at the door and nodded them inside. She felt like a criminal, knowing her ulterior motives...though that probably did actually make her a criminal...among various other things.

They moved along the corridors and Rui looked to a closed door in the hallway.

"What's in there?" She asked. The man looked back at her, still seeming slightly annoyed.

"Those are the worst of the worst. Real nasty criminals in there. Those through that door are up for execution."

Levi was definitely in there.

They kept walking, going passed several cells. Rui quickly unlocked one, sliding it open. It was empty.

"Is this one supposed to be open?" She asked. He whipped around bolting over to her.

"Hey! Don't touch that!" He quickly went to shut it, Rui sticking her foot out. He tripped, falling into the cell, Rui slamming the door shut behind him.

"You'll have to make it seem like an accident. That way he won't make a lot of noise. At this point, he's the idiot who got himself locked in. He won't want a bunch of people to know so he won't call for help."

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! How do I get you out?" She asked nervously. He huffed, standing and dusting himself off.

"It's fine, it's fine, I have a...key..." He patted himself down, digging through each of his pockets. Panic crosses his face as he looked at her.

"Hey...okay, listen, I can't find my keys, so I need your help. At the end of that hallway is an office. Just take a right turn. In the desk first drawer is a spare key. Go grab it so I can get out of here. Do NOT tell anyone about this, okay?" He instructed. She nodded her head quickly, moving straight for the hallway. She made an immediate LEFT turn and headed for the door she knew Levi to be on the other side of.

She pushed it open, looking through each cell. Her eyes widened as she saw Mikasa chained to the floor, her head hung low.

"I'll get you out too..."

She moved farther down and finally found Levi's holding cell. He was chained even more than Mikasa, blood dripping from several injuries on his face. She opened the door and he didn't look up as she moved quickly over to him.

"Levi!" She gasped, engulfing him in an embrace. His eyes snapped open when he realized it was her. He struggled against the chains.

"Rui...Rui what are you doing here? What are you...wearing?" He asked. She didn't answer him before kissing every inch of his face. He smiled, chuckling into her affection.

"Hey...watch my face, it hurts. Some jackass clocked me good while I was tied up," he mumbled. Once her kisses neared his mouth, he captured her lips, pulling against his chains.

"Okay, okay, wait, here," she sniffed, quickly grabbing the key to unlock the chains from her pocket. Once he was free, his arms scooped her up, pressing her firmly against him. His hands held her close, his face burying in her hair.

"I hardly recognise you, Rui, what the hell is this?" He asked, fanning out her dress.

"Soak it up, big guy, cuz I am never wearing this thing again. Come on," she grabbed him up, leading him to Mikasa's cell. They unlocked her as well, quickly undoing her chains.

"What's this...Stone? Captain Levi?" She whispered. Levi placed his fingers to his lips, shushing her. He then turned to look at Rui, his eyes narrowing. He reached gentle fingers up to her neck, brushing against a dark mark.

"What the hell is that?" He asked, his ire already rising.

"I had to...get the key," she whimpered.

As the door opened to the room, the young man stuck inside the cell smiled.

"You know, if I'm going to forgive you for this, you'll have to undress me," he said with a smirk, holding the bars.

"Glad to," a deep voice called back to him. Rui watched in amusement as the young man backed up away from the cell door.

"L-Levi?" He quivered. Rui smiled, stepping up next to him.

"Your ex boyfriend is Captain Levi?!" He shouted.

"We decided to work it out," she said, handing Levi the cell key.

"Look, Levi, I'll do whatever you want, you - you don't need to do anything crazy," he panicked. Levi opened the cell door, stepping slowly inside.

"Well, I really wanted to thank you for this," he said pointing to a bruise on his cheek. The young man rubbed his hands together nervously.

"Yeah, but I also helped you get out, right? Even if I didn't know it! Look, I was just doing my job!" He said, throwing his hands up in defense.

"Alright, piss pants, relax. But I do have one more question for you," he said. The MP looked at him through terrified eyes.

"Did you put your mouth on her?" He asked, gesturing to Rui. The young man looked to Levi with dread. Nodding in the silence, Levi smirked and slammed the cell door behind him.
