NOTE TO Amanda Collins: Though I would LOVE to make Sue and Jack younger, I can't. We know Sue's age from the pilot. Jack's is a bit harder, but I tried my best. He did so much, it's hard to make him younger than 51. 5 years difference isn't too much (when they're younger it seems larger, but now, not really), but if you have a theory to make Jack younger and still be an agent, sniper and law student, I would LOVE to hear it!
NOTE TO roban05: Yay!
TRIVIA: I was inspired by a Sue episode for this story. That, and seeing dumb reviews, and thinking how easily someone could put a hidden message in them. What Sue episode am I referencing? (BTW, by the time I posted this, I forgot the episode I'm referencing. Guess, and maybe you'll help me remember! LOL)
?-?
"What time is it?" Bobby asked.
"Almost 3." Mya replied, deep in research.
"Anything?" Jack asked.
Mya shook her head.
"We need to figure this out soon." He said, frustrated that he couldn't do more.
"There hasn't been any chatter in the traditional locations about anything going on in or near Dulles." Tara replied.
"What if we check more reviews? That might be where the chatter is." Mya asked.
"That's not a reliable source. I've seen some wacky, nonsensical reviews out there, referencing nothing but the person's insanity." Myles replied.
"But if there was one, there has to be another." Bobby replied.
"I'm starting to believe that the first review was a mistake to analyze." Myles muttered.
"I really believe it means something more. The capital letters are placed in specific places, and the nonsensical review doesn't really make sense without it having a deeper meaning." Josh replied.
"Yeah, you know how Taylor Swift had capital letters in her lyric booklets, and if you wrote all of them out, they spelled a message?" Sarah reasoned.
Jack nodded. "Yeah, this is too much of a coincidence to be nothing more than that."
"I think it's a coincidence that we're researching someone's insanity." Myles replied.
"What's going on here?" Peter asked, walking in, seeing everyone working hard, and arguing.
"We think we found something, and we're trying to figure it out." Jack briefly explained.
"Does it have to do with an open case?"
Jack slowly shook his head. "We don't know. Maybe a new case. Sue found it when she was looking for a gift for her Mom. There was an encoded message inside a review of a product."
"Found one!" Mya exclaimed.
"What does it say?" Sue asked, walking closer to her.
"Ready, for, big, blow, up, standby, for, more." She said, pausing in between words to find the next uppercase word.
"When was this posted?" Jack asked.
"Two days ago." She replied, looking at the date.
"Have you been able to track the user who posted the first review?" He asked.
Tara shook her head. "Not the easy way. The account doesn't have an address on file, it looks like they just post reviews. All look the same as the original one, coded messages. Maybe this other user bought something to give us an address."
"And we always can try to find the IP address." Mya added.
Peter nodded. "Do what you can. Keep me in the loop." He then walked out the door.
"So what do you plan to do, search through millions, possibly billions of items for a few unusual reviews?" Myles asked once he knew his boss was long gone from hearing range.
"No, uh," Mya replied, unsure what to say. He was right. It would take hours, if not days or weeks to do that.
"We will figure it out as we go." Josh interjected. She smiled gratefully at him.
?-?
About 10 minutes later, Peter walked back in the room. "I talked to one of my supervisors," he said once he had everyone's attention. "He is sending in an expert, luckily who was just on his way back home. He was here in D.C. helping on another case, and was just leaving for the airport. He should be here within a few minutes."
"I think we can handle this ourselves." Jack replied, defending his team.
Peter nodded. "You probably can, but according to the message, you have only about a half hour to figure this out. You need all the help you can get."
Jack didn't believe him, but knew not to say anything. He was his boss.
Sarah's phone rang. She went to answer it. Peter's phone rang as well. His call was very short.
"That was my supervisor. The expert will be up here in a few minutes. Luckily he didn't get too far."
"Guys," Sarah said after she hung up her phone call.
"What?" Jack asked, seeing Sarah a bit shook up.
"That was Metro PD. A car just blew up on 267, a mile away from Dulles airport."
Everyone stood there in complete silence.
"Hey, all!" A voice said, coming into the bullpen.
Tara, who was closest, turned. "Stanley?"
