Chapter 1: Clarity
Hello all Primatious here, this story here has been an idea in my head for the longest time and just barely am I gathering the courage to write this out. I'm a pretty avid reader of MHA fanfiction but my writing skills are not top notch so I please ask be patient with me, this story will more than likely not catch a lot of reader's attention as it will be about Izuku with gem powers from the Steven Universe franchise. I hope that I can do justice to the ideas floating around in my head so without further ado let's get right into it.

"You should give up on becoming a hero"
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Izuku"
"Take a swan dive off of the roof and pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life"
"I believe it to be impossible to become a hero without a quirk young man, but if you really want to help people why not become a police officer? It's not the most glorious of jobs but they are still a huge part of society."
Throughout his short life Izuku Midoriya has been put through hell all because he was born differently from the rest. He was born without a quirk; he didn't have what everybody else had that made them special.
He was ostracized by his peers and even his best friend Katsumi, day in and day out he was bullied and beat down all because he wanted to be a hero. He wanted to be as great a hero as All Might, the worlds very own Symbol of Peace, but alas the world of quirks is a cruel place to those born without powers to claim their own.
When Izuku had waken up this morning he had no idea what the future had in store for our hero hopeful. He had an awful nights rest and barely even slept which had caused him to wake up later than he usually would, causing an unfortunate chain of events (or fortunate if you look at it from a different perspective). He even almost forgot his Hero Analysis for the Future Vol.13 notebook.
On his way to school he got stuck behind a blockade that was put up due to a rampaging villain with a gigantification quirk who was currently being engaged by rising star pro-hero Kamui Woods. Kamui was in the middle of getting ready to subdue said villain when a very loud and sudden "CANYON CANNON" was shouted and lead to the villain being knocked out cold by a very new pro who was making her debut. "Hello everyone, pleased to make your ass-quaintance" she immediately posed for the literal lines of camera men to snap photos of her "goods".
"Oh man well would you look at that she's a new rookie out on the scene it looks like her quirk is a gigantification one and by looks of it it's very powerful she's incredibly tall" and he went on and on eventually ending up in a mutter storm lost in his never ending thoughts
"Man, kid you sound like a monk chanting mantras at light speed it's kinda creepy" Said a man to Izuku's right
"Oh s-sorry sir I tend to due that when I'm observing quirks" The man then noticed that Izuku was holding his Hero Analysis notebook.
"I assume you're going to become a hero in your future?" the man had asked with a smile on his face
"O-Oh yes I hope that I can, well anyways I must be on my way I don't want to be late to class have a good day sir" Izuku waved and beamed a smile at the man as he left to make his way towards his middle school.
When Izuku made it to his classroom as he made his way towards his seat, he had saw his "best friend" and tormentor Katsumi Bakugo and made the mistake of making eye contact with her.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT YOU QUIRKLESS DEKU"
'N-N-Nothing Kacchan!"
"Then scram to your seat you idiot" Katsumi had said with a fake heat to her words.
Contrary to what many think Katsumi does not actually hate Izuku she cares deeper for him than she would ever admit, that is why she's mean and bullies him. She knows that he wouldn't be able to be a hero without a quirk. He wouldn't be able to protect himself from a villain who had a powerful quirk he would get destroyed and she won't let that happen no matter what.
"Damn Deku what an idiot he needs to give up on this stupid dream of his already" She thought to herself
As the day had begun their teacher had entered the classroom and proceeded to greet his students. "As you all know as third years it's about time for you all to start thinking about your future career's, oh who am I kidding I know y'all want to become heroes." He exclaimed while tossing a stack of papers in the air which had resulted in a loud cheer and a boisterous display of quirks.
"Oi teach don't lump me in with the rest of these two-bit extras" Katsumi had all but sneered out which had caused a ruckus inside the classroom
"I'm going to become the #1 hero of all time even greater than All Might himself" She exclaimed with the most savage smile on her face.
All the meanwhile Izuku had watched with astonishment towards the familial blond that sat in front of him, for what felt like practically his entire life he looked up to Katsumi and couldn't help but be in awe at the sheer confidence his "childhood friend" had in herself.
"Ahh yes young Bakugo it says here you are applying for U.A Highschool" That sentence alone had been enough to quiet down everyone from the classroom simply because of how prestigious the school was, they knew deep down that they would without a doubt not be able to pass the entrance exams to such an established institution.
"That's right teach I'm going to be the best so I have to go to the best school for heroics, no one from this crappy school is good enough to make it except for me of course" Katsumi had stated.
"It also says here that Midoriya has also applied for U.A"
This caused everyone including Katsumi to freeze and turn around to face the class's resident quirkless student.
Midoriya himself shrunk under the gazes of his fellow classmates but was able to mutter out "T-T-The exam allows for a-a-a-any person t-to take the exams quirk or not" this had caused all of the classroom minus one to erupt in laughter at the green haired child
"Hah what a loser he thinks he can be a hero without a quirk" "There's no way Midoriya can make it" "I can't believe he thinks he can do it" All and more were said which had caused Izuku to retreat into himself and his arms for comfort from the teases. Meanwhile a certain blonde bomber couldn't help but become enraged at the thought of Izuku trying to become something he can't be.
She held herself back from saying anything at all to him 'Stupid Deku thinks that he can become a hero still, looks like I'm really going to have to lay into him so that he can finally snap and give up this delusion of his'
The day then progressed normally with the end of the day coming very quickly
Izuku had started to pack up all his supplies into his bag when a hand slapped onto his Hero Analysis notebook before he could grab it
"Listen and listen good Deku, no matter what you'll never become a hero (I'm so sorry for this but it has to be done) so do everyone a favor and give up this pipe dream"
"I can't d-do that Kacchan you know that" Izuku fearfully responded to the petite blonde
"B-Besides it's my choice not yours, you can't force me not to take the entrance exams" This infuriated Katsumi beyond belief and caused her to see red
"YOU STUPID DEKU, LISTEN TO ME ALREADY AND JUST GIVE UP YOU'RE WEAK AND WORHTLESS AS A HERO YOU DON'T HAVE ANY POWERS IT'S POINTLESS" Katsumi was getting angrier and angrier by the second and she was saying a lot more than what she really meant to (Regardless she never truly meant any of this, she just doesn't want Izuku to get hurt and possibly die).
"I can't give up Kacchan, I won't give up… ever" with a gleam in his eyes that almost shone with what looked like the color pink he stood his ground against Katsumi.
"You know what fine I'm over this shit anyways" With a quick pop of her quirk she blew up his notebook in between her hands and tossed it out of the window " If you truly want to become a hero than the easiest way would be for you to take a swan dive off of the roof and pray that you're reborn with a quirk
Leaving a stunned and hurt Izuku in the classroom by himself he started to softly cry to himself "She actually just told me that didn't she, I can't believe her. Where did the Kacchan that I used to be friends with go…" Strapping up his backpack he left outside to go look for his journal to see if he could salvage it.
Meanwhile a certain bomber was down the hall in a bathroom currently freaking out 'I can't believe I just said that to him holy crap what is wrong with me, I didn't mean that I don't want that why would I say that. He's such a dumbass that riles me up so much, I don't like this I hate tearing him down the way I am but it's necessary I'm so sorry Izuchan'.
On his way home Izuku decided to take a shortcut underneath a passageway, but as he went through due to him being lost in his thoughts he wasn't able to hear the manhole behind open up revealing a mass of slime that slithered it's way out
"Hmmm a medium sized meat bag for me to take control of, how nice" the sludge villain had said aloud
Unluckily Izuku was a moment too late in realizing what was about to descend upon him, a tendril of slime latched onto his leg and began to pull him into the main mass of sludge. "HOLY CRUD WHAT THE HELL IS THIS" he exclaimed as he was dragged
"Don't worry kid this'll be over before you know it just relax and the pain will be over in about 45 seconds" the disgusting mass of villain had chuckled
This of course caused Izuku to freak out and begin clawing at his mouth to get some much-needed air into his body which he desperately required.
"Hahaha kid no matter what you do you can't escape me now"
Izuku was slowly but surely starting to lose consciousness and darkness was starting to surround his eyesight
But before he could completely lose it and black out, he was able to make out another figure emerging from the manhole that the villain had come out of
"HAVE NO FEAR FOR I AM HERE!, DETRIOT SMASH" as Izuku succumbed into unconsciousness the last thing he saw was golden hair and the famous double-v hairdo that he has admired all his life.
"Young man, young man can you hear me?" Izuku had no idea who was talking to him as he was coming to all he could really make out was that the voice was one that he vaguely remembered.
As he slowly opened his eyes he was finally make out who was in front of him
"O-OH M-MY GOD IT'S ALL M-MIGHT" At this point Izuku had no idea if any of this was happening
"I'm glad to see that you are quite alright young man, I apologize for letting this villain to cause you any harm I'm new to this city and ended up getting lost chasing him down in the sewers" All Might then proceeded to scoop up the goop into soda bottles that he had with him.
"Well anyways young man I must get going and turn this villain in to the authorities please be careful getting home now" He then bent down and prepared to take off into the sky
Izuku watched his all-time favorite hero prepare to leave but he just couldn't find his voice to try and stop him, so he arguably did the dumbest thing he's ever done in his life.
As All Might flew through the air he felt heavier than he usually does and didn't know why he still had time left for the day so it wasn't his limit, then as the he reached the apex of his jump and the wind died down he could hear the whimpers of a person confused he glanced down to find the boy he just saved attached his legs
"I know I'm supposed to unconditionally love my fans but this is a bit much young man please let go" All Might pleaded
"I-I can't do that A-A-All Might I'll d-die from this h-h-height" Izuku had screamed out
"Yes, I suppose you're right *cough* S-shit *cough*" All Might searched for a place where they could safely land while he discreetly wiped blood away from his mouth.
"Young M-" "Midoriya" "Young Midoriya I really must get going now I shall take my leave"
"W-WAIT ALL MIGHT there's something I have to ask you, ever since I was little I've always wanted to be a hero to save everyone with a smile" the young boy was looking at his toes while he poured out his feelings but little did he know All Might started to steam and was wracked with coughs that sounded like he was coughing up a lung " I want to become the greatest hero just like you so-" Izuku had finally looked up at All Might and what he saw surprised him more than anything he's ever seen in his entire life.
A tall sickly looking man was standing in front of Izuku and he had no idea where this person came from but he was somewhat sure that this was All Might due to him wearing the exact same clothes but not only that his blue eyes held an immense amount of power within them and Izuku knew without a doubt "A-A-A-All M-M-Might?!"
"Yes young Midoriya it is me, now that you've seen this form I might as well tell you the story of how I ended up like this" He then proceeded to tell him about his fight with his nemesis 5 years ago and the injuries he received during said fight. After his explanation he looked Izuku in the eyes and said something he wasn't ready to hear.
"I believe it to be impossible to become a hero without a quirk young man, but if you really want to help people why not become a police officer? It's not the most glorious of jobs but they are still a huge part of society." Izuku's world started crashing down around him and he couldn't believe it.
'Not even All Might believes I can do it; this is it I really should just give up it's worthless. At least Katsumi will be happy that she was right.' Not even looking at Izuku in the eyes All Might apologizes and leaves down the flight of stairs to the street level.
Izuku being thoroughly distraught did not even realize he was heading towards the sounds of explosions and sirens. When he got to the scene, he asked a bystander what was going on "There's a villain that has taken a young girl hostage and is causing explosions so none of the heroes can get near them"
Being the smart young fellow, he is Izuku snapped when he finally put two and two together "Wait a minute, explosions and a young girl…" There's no way that it's actually her, right?
His worst fear was confirmed when he spotted the spiky blonde hair of his best friend.
"KACCHAN" He broke through the crowd of bystanders and ran full speed towards his only friend when one of the pros on site grabbed his bag with the intentions to stop him but Izuku proved determined when he slipped off his bag to continue his sprint towards the sludge villain who was holding his dearest friend hostage.
"Shit what do I do I don't have anything to distract him with" time seemed to slow for Izuku as the gravity of the situation settled in "I wish I had the power to actually do something" he cried to himself.
Strangely enough he felt a pool of energy begin to form around the navel area of his body as he continued in his sprint. Little did he know that he started to emit a pink glow that everyone took notice of especially the blonde who had a front row seat to it all.
"What is that light coming off of Deku?" As Katsumi was struggling to stay awake, she could see the determination burning in Izuku's eyes as he ran to her rescue.
"GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF OF HER" as he got closer to the villain his heartrate increased and the adrenaline flowing through his body caused something in Izuku to snap as all he wanted was to save Katsumi.
As the pink glow coming off Izuku reached what seemed to be it's brightest on his arm the light condensed and a pink shield with a vine design formed atop his arm and with the grace of an Olympic discus thrower he hurled the shield straight into the eye of the villain causing him to shriek in pain and loosen his grip on Katsumi.
As her head was finally free, she was able to get a much-needed gasp of air. "KACCHAN DON'T WORRY I AM HERE"
"D-Deku you idiot what are you doing here"
"You looked like you were asking for help" Izuku declared
The villain who had now recovered from the shield to the eye was now furious and about to slam a sludge tendril on Izuku but before he could Katsumi was forcefully dragged out of his body mass by Izuku and they had rolled away
"YOU DAMN KID THAT IS IT I'M TIRED OF THIS ALREADY"
As the tendril descended upon both teens Izuku held Katsumi close in an attempt to protect her from the harm the tendril was about to inflict upon them, yet instead of feeling the pain of his bones surely being crushed under the force of the strike he heard the dull sound of the impact.
Opening his eyes his vision was swarmed in pink and his body felt empowered as if he was an entirely different person when he finally regained his bearings he realized he was inside of a pink bubble with Katsumi safely wrapped in his embrace
"Kacchan are you okay?"
"D-Deku what is this?"
"I'm not entirely sure Kacchan but I'm just glad you're safe, I don't know what I would do if I were to lose you" Izuku has no idea how saying that to Katsumi caused her to look down in shameful bliss due to the conflicting emotions bubbling inside of her.
Just as the Slime Villain was about to strike again, he was stopped in his tracks when he heard the legendary catchphrase.
"WORRY NOT CHILDREN FOR I AM HERE"
All Might then proceeded to 'DETROIT SMASH'the villain causing him to splatter across the alleyway and a rain cloud forming above them.
As the rain pattered against the pink bubble the adrenaline started to drain from Izuku and he found himself very exhausted and started to drift off with Katsumi doing the same.
All Might had seen a lot of things in his lifetime, but this boy's power was the first of it's kind "Hmm did he lie to me about being quirkless? No, he could not have that sadness in his eyes was genuine it looks like his quirk manifested itself due to his extreme desire to save his friend. That being said I think I've finally found the one to inherit my mantle and power."
Okay, so I know this probably sucks really bad but I'm treating this as a pilot, as of now I have Chapter 2 underway and if I get good responses then I'll go ahead and continue the story. Oh and a side note, I'm not 100% sure if Izuku should get OFA or not so I'll leave that up to y'all let me know what you think as for why or why not in the reviews or even DM's
