NOTE TO phyl7375: lol, yes but I kinda got sidetracked with the other parts of the story, therefore, it's kinda going to be a bit illogical when it does pop up! Sorry about that!
NOTE: Lol! It's Wednesday, and it's Wednesday in the story! Now how did I plan that? :)
?-?
"Well, today's the day!" Bobby happily exclaimed as he and Jack walked into the bullpen Wednesday morning.
"Today's the day for what?" Myles replied, annoyed at how perky Bobby was for 8AM.
"To catch Jamil and his buddies." Bobby proudly replied.
"For your information, we're not catching him today, we're just getting the information to catch him. If the girl can get the information we need." Myles replied.
Bobby shrugged. "All the same. We're going to get him."
"I can agree with you on that." Myles quietly replied.
"Woah! Something you two agree on? Quick! Get the newspapers, get the news station! Get our supervisor! We have something that Myles and Bobby agree on!" Josh teased. He just got two long glares back from the two men. "What? I'm just pointing out something that we don't see every day."
Sarah and Mya giggled, both trying not to be distracted from their work by what was going on.
At this point, Sue and Sunny walked in. She noticed the wide smiles on everyone except Bobby and Myles. "What did I miss?"
Jack laughed and waved for her attention. "YOU KNOW DON'T WANT."
?-?
Jackie nervously looked around as people set up the area. She herself wasn't going to be bugged, but the table was. They also added an extra surveillance camera, strategically placed so that they could see the entrance and the table that Jackie was sitting at. Sue was watching the feed in the van down the street when Jack touched her shoulder. She looked up.
"You ready for this?"
She nodded, going back to the feed. "She's just so young, so naïve. I hope she can pull this off."
He sat down next to her and touched her hand. Again, she looked at him. "She's also strong. She will do great."
"I just wish we knew what Jamil was going to ask her."
"We don't but we will find out soon. We just have to wait and see.
?-?
About an hour later, Jamil was spotted walking down the street, a half hour late. Jackie was nervous just for the fact that she was doing this, and the added delay just had made her more nervous. She wiggled in her seat, but when she saw Jamil in the doorway, he best acting kicked in. she sat up straight, with a big smile on her face. He smiled as well, walking to the table.
"Hi." He said as he sat down.
"Hi." She replied.
"How have you been?"
Jackie nodded. "Good." She wanted to go directly into questioning him, but knew she had to warm him up a bit. "Missing you." She added with a lovingly longing look.
Jamil looked away. "Sorry about that. It's just been crazy at work. We're planning something big, and it takes up most of my time."
"Like a party?" Jackie asked.
Jamil looked up in thought. "Not exactly, but we will have one afterwards, and you're invited."
"Ooh! Fun!" Jackie exclaimed.
"She's actually a really good actor. I don't see the nervousness she had before at all." Jack said to himself as he watched the two, since the only people in the van were he and Sue, and she was watching as well.
"Which reminds me, I had a question for you."
"Yes," Jackie asked, pretending to be excited.
"We need to ask someone a few questions, but he's Deaf, and does not read lips like you."
"OK," Jackie replied, a bit confused.
"We need you to interpret." Jamil continued. "He's a mechanic, and is working on, uh, a friend's car, and we want to surprise our friend with something."
"All SAM units, I believe he's talking about Troy. SAM 2, send someone out to his garage, discreetly."
"Yep." Mya replied, siting at her desk in the bullpen, already pressing a few things on her computer.
"You Just need to promise me one thing." Jamil asked.
"What?"
"That you won't ask any questions. Some things we might ask you to interpret might not make sense, but we need those answers."
"OK." She replied, her nervousness now starting to show.
He smiled at her. "Good. I'll pick you up at 4." He replied, getting up.
"No!" she exclaimed, a bit too loud. "I'll meet you." She said more quietly.
"No, I'll pick you up. It's better that way."
"It's just that," she wrung her hands, thinking of an excuse. "My parents will be home, and they don't exactly like you. I had to lie to them last week, saying we broke up."
"It'll be fine." He said soothingly, walking over to stroke her hair. "I won't come out. You can just say one of your friends is picking you up."
She looked at him with wide eyes. There was no changing his mind. "Alright." She almost whispered.
He smiled. "Good. See you at 4." With that, he walked out of the restaurant.
Once he was out of sight, she blew out a breath of relief. A few minutes later, Sue, Jack, Bobby and Myles came into the restaurant. "Was I OK? I was horrible. I didn't get any information for you. It was so bad. I couldn't even get a location." She rambled.
Sue touched her shoulder. "You were amazing." She said and signed.
"You think?"
Sue nodded.
Jack waved his hand towards the two women. "We think the person that you're going to interpret for is one of Sue's friends. We have people going over there now to see who is in danger. We need you to continue with what Jamil told you. We need to catch them in the act."
Sue touched her shoulder. "You got more information out of him than we ever would."
"Really?" she asked.
Sue nodded. "Really."
"Now all we need to do is figure out what to do about it." Myles quietly said to the men.
"What do you think it is? A bomb?" Bobby asked Jack.
He nodded. "Yeah, and wherever that car is going, it'll be a populated place."
