Emma woke up to the sun shining into their room. She could feel Regina pressed up against her back holding her tight. It was rare that she woke up before Regina but she enjoyed it when she did because of moments like this. She felt Regina squeeze a little tighter and figured she must be dreaming and smiled. She stayed there in her loves arms loving every moment until Regina awoke and gave her a kiss on her shoulder. Emma snuggled in closer to Regina and Regina tightened the cuddle.
Today was a special day. The day they left for their week long anniversary trip. They are going to Switzerland for a week and staying in a tiny house in the countryside surrounded by beautiful nature and no one else. They were going to miss their daughter Emily of course but they were excited to have some time for just them. They knew she would be okay with the Charmings.
Emily was 5 years old and the perfect mold of the both of them. She had Emma's bright green eyes, Regina's gorgeous hair, Emma's cute dimples, Regina's sassy, sarcastic attitude and of course Emma's appetite. Their little family was very happy. However Henry was off at college and they missed him greatly and cherished the moments he came home to visit.
As if she knew they were thinking of her Emily flung open the bedroom door and leapt on the bed crashing into both of them. They both let out a moan of pain but didn't mind. "I'm gonna miss you moms, but I hope you have a good time and eat lots of food." Regina smiled knowingly at Emma and chuckled. Her family's appetite was something else.
The three cuddled in bed for the next few minutes until Emily screeched in Emma's ear because Regina started to tickle her. Emma tickled Regina back and it quickly turned into an all out tickle war with Emma and Regina against each other and Emily trying to be the mediator while laughing. Soon they all collapsed on the bed breathing heavy from all the laughing.
"Let's go down and have a nice family breakfast before your grandparents get here to pick you up." Regina said. "Oh! Can we have your amazing chocolate chip pancakes?" asked Emma and Emily chimed in with "Please! Please! Please!" Regina couldn't help but let a loud hearty laugh escape at her two favorite girls. "Of course we can." she said with a large smile.
The three of them walked down the stairs holding hands and making little jokes and jabs. Regina and Emily worked together to make the pancakes while Emma made coffee and set the table while stealing chocolate chips and getting rib pokes from Regina.
They sat down and enjoyed their breakfast and talking with each other. "What are you looking forward to most at your grandparents?" Regina asked Emily. "I'm excited for nerf gun fights with grandpa and uncle Neil!" she exclaimed excitedly. "What are you most excited for moms?" Emily asked. "All the delicious treats we get to eat." said Emma with a knowing eyebrow raise at Regina. Regina smiled back knowingly. "Okay sweetie, go up and get ready for your grandparents." Emily got up and made her way upstairs to get dressed and grab her things.
While Emily was getting ready Regina took the dishes into the kitchen. While she was doing them Emma hugged her from behind and started kissing her neck. "Emma… We have a whole week ahead of us." "I know but I have no patience when it comes to you babe." "You have no patience in general, don't kid yourself." Regina joked.
Moments later Emily came bounding down the stairs arms filled with bags. "Did you get everything sweetheart?" Regina asked. "You're only going for a week. Are you taking your whole room?" Emma asked at the same time. "Like mom said. I didn't want to forget anything." Emily said while slightly rolling her eyes at her other mom. She clearly got that attitude from Regina, Emma thought. Maybe a little bit from her but she would never admit it.
Just then they heard a knock on the door. Emma went to open it and Regina and Emily heard from the foyer "Well hello your Majesty!" come from David. "Excuse me?" Regina said as no one had called her that in years, except for Emma in certain circumstances. She smirked at the thought of that. "I wasn't talking to you." He directed at Regina as he, Snow and Neil rounded the corner. "I was talking to Madam Emily." bowing in Emily's direction. She giggled and Regina rolled her eyes.
"Are you ready for a fun filled week?" Snow asked. "Very!" Emma quickly replied looking at Regina. "I was talking too Emily." Snow said giving Emma a look but smiling right after. She knew Emma and Regina were looking forward to some alone time. "Well then, let's get going. We have a surprise for you." Snow says too Emily. "Not to much sugar." Regina quickly says. "We know…" Snow says rolling her eyes.
David helped Emily grab her bags and the four of them walked out the door ready for a fun week. Regina closed the door and turned around to face Emma allowing herself to be enveloped in her arms. "Are you ready for our week dear?" "You have no idea!" Emma said as their lips met for a heated kiss.
