chapter 8: True power Part 1

Joe opened up his eyes. he was looking into the sky as clouds started to pass him by. he Just continued to stare at the sky wandering if he should get off the ground. then he heard a loud sound come from the forest not to far from him. he decided to go and check out what was happening. he continued further into the forest trying to find where the sound was coming from every step he took the sound was getting closer. but the closer he got he could hear screaming. he then started to panic and picked up his pace to go and help who was in trouble. the closer he got the more the screams came. he saw the edge of the forest and was hoping who ever was in trouble was still alive. but as soon as he exit the forest he saw something he wished he never would have saw. he then dropped to his knees and looked at the monster in front of him. '' no... wh...what is he doing here...he shouldent be here.''

''ROAR.'' joe looked backed up as he's eyes set on a monster that was about the size of the guild the monster was was black with blue like tattoos over its body's, wings, and tail, it's claws were long and sharp enough to cut through steel if it had to. the dragon stood tall as it looked down below it's self.

''Acnologia.'' Joe then cursed under his breath as he glared at the dragon in front of him.

'' I SAID GET OUT OF HERE NOW.'' Joe heard someone yell he then got up and ran to the voices. he eyes then widen in surprise. at the two men he saw.

'' like i said before laxus were not going anywhere were dragonslayers were meant to do this.'' Natsu the gave Laxus a wide grin. laxus looked at Natsu and gave a small chuckle. he then turned around to face Gagell and Wendy.

'' on my count we attack with our roars understand.'' the three dragonslayers nodded as they all looked at Acnologia.''

''one...'' gagell and wendy started to build up magic energy.

''Two...'' Natsu then started to build up magic as he was inhaling fire.

''three...'' laxus then started to build up magic energy and inhaled lighting.

''ROAR!'' all four dragonslayers shouted as all their attacks combined to form a unison Raid

''It's not going to be enough where is Joe at.'' Joe then looked at the person who said that the woman was none other then Ultear. but Joe was shocked he was right here how couldn't they see him. he then felt another powerful energy raising he then looked up into the sky and saw himself and happy.

''alright Happy let me fly.''

''Aye sir.'' happy then proceeded to drop Joe. Joe then gathered his magic energy up and inhaled deeply.

''ICE DRAGONS ROAR.'' Joe then shouted out a stream of ice to mix into the unison raid. there shouts then connected with acnologia and created a huge explosion destroying everything around it.

'' we did it.'' yelled the sky maiden as she went up to Natsu and gave him a high five.

''way to go kiddo you did good.'' Natsu then looked at gagell as he was heading their way with laxus and Joe.

''well looks like we finally beat him.'' laxus then sighed. Joe then stopped in his tracks and his eyes shout wide open as he turned around quickly and then turned back to the group before trying to reach out to them.

'' every one mo...'' before he could finish his sentence him and the other slayers were blown away from a powerful blast. the real joe could only watch as the dust cloud then dispersed. he saw as his fellow guild mates were blown away he felt scared but what he saw didn't help. he could see laxus on the ground holding his leg he could tell that it was broken. he then looked at gagell as gagell was not moving but could sense he was still alive he then looked at natsu and saw him get up. but Natsu was limping on one leg and holding his right arm. Joe then looked at himself he realized he had cuts on him somehow he was in the blast and he was confused it was so real he didn't understand. he then looked at Natsu as he fell to his knees.

''ROAR!'' Joe then turned to look at acnologia as he swept his claws downwards tword Natsu and Wendy.

''WENDY, NATSU MOVE.'' Joe the turned his attention to gray who yelled and threw himself into Natsu and Wendy pushing them out of the way of the attack but gray was hit by the attack instead. joe watched as grays body rolling on the ground with blood trickling down his head and cuts everywhere. joe just looked at Grays body he was breathing but not for long he was slowly losing his heart beat joe could hear it. a tear started to form in his eye.

''GARY.'' yelled natsu as he lifted his face to see his rival on the ground all bloody and not moving. Natsu then looked up as his eyes widen in fear for his brother was not paying attention. ''JOE LOOK OUT.'' Joe then looked up as acnologia went to strike him with his claw. he closed his eyes waiting for the hit but it never came he then opened his eyes and saw ultear push him back. his eyes just widen as everything around him seemed to slow down he looked at ultear. he looked at her face her eyes showing regret and compassion her smile telling him it'll be alright. she then talked but joe could not hear as he was thinking about why this is happening so he just read her lips. after she was done everything went back to normal as her body was flung to the other side of the field. joe then got up and ran to ultear looking at her lifeless body hanging in his arms he then looked at Erza as she entered into the field.

''JOE!'' screamed Erza as she saw acnologia breath in a magical energy getting ready to attack. Joe then looked at acnologia with eyes of anger his black soales eyes staring at the monster that killed his sister. he had so much anger. that Erza could fell a tremendous amount of power that scared her to fall to her knees. she then started to cry as she watch joe about to be engulfed into the dragons. joe just stared at the beam as it headed his way he just stared at it as it engulfed his body and everything went black.

''AHHHHHHH.'' joe then shot up forward from his bed as he shout out a blast of ice magic freezing every thing that was five feet in front of him. his breathing then became more rapid as he was having a hard time breathing. he then could hear footsteps coming his way he then saw red scarlet in the doorway. he just looked at her as tears were flowing down joe's face. she the ran over to Joe to comfort him.

'' they died... they died Erza and i was to weak to protect them.'' Joe gritted his teeth from pure rage and sadness. Erza could felt Joe hugging her tighter she then looked into his black eyes. as she looked into his eyes she could see that he was scared and with him being scared she could see sadness and rage. joe kept on crying until he had no more tears Erza then tucked Joe into hid bed before she could leave joe grabbed her wrist stopping her in her tracks. AT JOE'S HOUSE

"this must be it." Natsu went to knock on the door but it opened before he could knock. he decided to go in and look around to see if Joe was anywhere. as he continued to look around he could see not only his pants but a women's skirt. AT the guild

'dame those two really went all out'. as Erza was changing after Joe and Natsu she could see where they have been she saw burnt marks and places where Joe made ice to try and slip Natsu. Behind the guild

Joe walked behind the guild and could see jellal sitting on a crate waiting for his arrival. jellal then looked up and saw Joe and gave him a small smile which Joe returned as well.

'' well where have you been i haven't seen you in a couple days.'' Joe then realized he couldn't inform jellal on what he was doing encase Erza where to find out and beat the hell out of him.

'' well i got pretty drunk and was passed out for a while so what did you want to talk about.'' jellal's face then got serious as so did Joe's jellal then took out a piece of paper and handed it to him.

'' where is he the train is going to leave soon.'' said gray as he was sitting on a bench next to Lucy. who was reading one of the books Levi gave her as natsu was focusing trying to prepare for his motion sickness. as for Erza she just rested her back on a near by pillar. she didn't bother to respond as she could sense Joe was on his way

'' there's someone over there come out and show yourself.'' a man with what appeared to be a cloak of red and orange came out all they could see was his evil grin. natsu watched as many of the cult members gathered around him he looked for anyway out but so far there was no way to get free.'looks like im going to have to relay on my friends this time'. then the leader of the cult walked up to natsu and gave him a sadistic smile. ''so tell me salamander do you know what a hollow is''

''no what is i...'' natsu eyes shot wide open as the man pushed his hand through natsu as if it was never there and slowly he started draining his humanity. '' it's when a person loses so much of his humanity that he almost becomes like a undead creature.'' the man continued to drain him of his humanity until he could see natsu was looking grim he then pulled his arm back. ''its time light the fire.'' the other members of the cult began to light several camp fires. but what they didn't see was the other members of fairy tail in the bushes

''alright are you guys ready when there guard is down attack.'' the rest of the group nodded as they looked at the crowd Joe wandered what they could possibly want with natsu his only conclusion was it had to do something with Zeref. ' that bastard even when he's no where near me he screws things up'. his fist then tighten harder.

''the preparations are ready let the ritual began.'' everyone was quiet until the leader began to speak in a singing voice.

as the cult leader began to sing Natsu started to scream in pain as he's body began to feel hot for the very first time. his pupils changed into dragon eyes as his teeth started grow longer and a bright yellowish whit light surrounded him. also the fires began to roar and grow five times their normal height. when Joe heard the song his head began to hurt in which mad him scream.

''Joe whats wrong'' said erza as she put her hand on his shoulder. ''that song we have to stop them and hurry. but before they could jump into action they were stopped by other members who were guarding the ritual. ''you'll have to get past us.'' team nastu the all shot forward to try and stop the ritual.

' this song why is it so familiar.' Joe then grabbed his head as he heard another voice. 'BECAUSE THAT IS MY POWER AND I NEED IT WE NEED IT, NOW GO AND TAKE WHATS OURS.' Joe then unconsciously walked to the ritual. then the whole cult began to sing

natsu began to growl as his head looked up to see Joe walking up the temples steps. Joe then plunged his fist through the cult leader he then looked at the members and spoke with a murderous voice. '' STOP THE RITUAL AND YOU SHALL ALL BE KILLED.'' HE THEN TURNED HIS ATTENTION BACK TO HIS BROTHER. '' EMBRACE IT BROTHER LET IT BRING OUT THE POWER WITHIN IN YOU.'' he then gave out a evil laugh

after the members stopped Joe cracked his back and looked at all the scared members ''thank you so much i feel like my power was a quarter of the way restored which means.'' he then gather a ball of black magic in his hand that started to make the grass and trees start to die. '' i have no use of you.'' as soon as he threw it team natsu witnessed the massive blast and wondered what happen as the cloud dust settled there was nothing in sight all the cult members were gone this brought a shock to the fairies faces and made the remaing members of the cult stop their attack and focused on Joe. they then all jumped at Joe in one attack. '' you bastard you will pay.'' Joe then grabbed the mans face with his right gloved and then grabbed the sword from the the member of the cult and broke the blade off slicing the mans neck spraying blood onto Joe's face then he threw the man in his right hand at a tree making him cough up some blood. Joe then shoved the broken piece of the sword in the the third members chest while ducking under neath his spear. '' you bastard you will die right hear.'' Joe then pulled the broken piece out of the mans chest and shoved right through the mans mouth from his jaw to the tip of his head, then he kicked them man down and walked to the first ember at the tree and grabbed his face the man began to scram out only they were muffled by Joe's hand. then the cult members started to kick his legs more as Joe began to squeeze harder on the man head until it exploded. and all the blood was over him. ''pathetic weaklings why cant humans ever keep it fun.'' he then felt a mass amount of power behind him as he turned around he was punched in the face sending him flying into a nearby tree. '' well i see that you embraced the fairy side of you brother.'' there stood natsu dragneal what appeared to look like he was a fairy( not really lol but if you could imagine it like i am it's a pretty bad ass fairy) his wings looked that of a dragons but weren't real the fairy's magic made it look real which in return giving him the ability to fly.

'' i always thought i was the alpha and omega... but now i see where i stand.'' Joe then gave a sicking smile . '' i guess ill have to change that.'' Joe then shot off twords natsu with his right fist cocked back and as soon as it looked to connect nastu stopped it with both his hands and gave Joe a smile of his own.

''well i see i'll have to keep that from happening brother.'' natsu then through Joe's fist to the side and kicked him in the stomach making Joe slide a couple feet. '' i want to know how did you not succumb to the dark powers in you tell me what's your secret.'' Natsu took a deep breath and began to speak.

flash back 10 minutes before ritual was completed

natsu woke up into a black room with nothing in it. '' where am i did i die.'' then there was a little giggle that could be heard. he then turned to his right. '' of course not silly.'' the voice cam from a short woman who wore a white dress and had long blonde wavy hair and dark green eyes

''who are you.''

''im your mother. '' Natsu then had a lone tear drop from his eyes as he looked at the woman who was his own mom.

''mother i cant believe it I've wanted to see you for so long.'' Natsu jumped up and embraced his mom as she did the same.

''natsu listen you need to kill zeref only you.'' Natus then raised his brows in confusion

''but what about Joe he said that he's supposed to kill zeref.''

''NO!.'' this made natsu jump a little at his mothers outburst.

''by all means you must be the one to kill him Natsu this goes further back then you know you must not allow Joe to kill zeref.''

'' there's not much time left hurry up.'' natsu then looked at the dark figure behide his mother.

''who is that.''

''im sorry there's no time, here.'' Mavis then touched natsu chest as she did this natsu's whole body felt warm. he then slowly started to drift back into reality nut before that happened he heard one last voice.

'' ill be with you soon kid just be ready for me.'' the dark fiquer then gave a smile before natsu returned to the real world.

present time

''so mom knows the plan to well after all she is the smartest one out of us.''joe then wiped his hand to the side throwing some of the blood of of it.

'' so which one of us dragons is going to fall will it be me or you.''

''obviously...'' natsu then got into his fighting stance and formed a yellowish fire around him. '' it's going to be you.'' he then jumped straight at Joe with his fist cocked. in return Joe jumped forward and cocked his fist back as well as the fist connected it sent a huge shock wave forming a crater beneath them. Erza looked at the two in astonishment she could not believe the power they were showing. she was then grabbed my a man with blue hair who was none other then jellal.

''what are you doing here.''

'' i came thinking something bad was going to happen it turns out i was right... GRAY LUCY HAPPY follow me it's not safe.'' the trio then followed jellal up on a cliff jellal then proceeded to make symbols with his hands and then pointed them around the area Joe and natsu were fighting.

''immortal dome.'' the whole area was covered in half a black sphere.

''jellal why are you doing this.'' he then looked at erza with a scary glare that sent a shiver up her spine.

'' preventing two dragons destroying a entire country.''

back at the battle field

'' i see so this is your strength ... such a petty.'' Joe then smashed his fist in Natsu's face and made him slide a few feet.

''your strong but i need you to be stronger or else...''

''what are you going to do.'' natsu then got up off the ground and looked at Joe who gave him a sinister look.''

'' ill kill everyone you love.''
