The Moon was starting to climb on the horizon as Gamindustri was starting to go to sleep. Everyone was getting into their night clothes and so on.
In Lowee, however, one candidate was alone. She was alone because her twin was spending the night at her friends house. Well, with another candidate.
Ram was settling into her night clothes when she looked out the window. She walked over to it and opened it. Leaning on the window ledge and had a gentle smile on her face.
"I woke up it was 7, waited until 11, just to figure out no-one would call..."
Ram was around 11 in terms of her body age, but mentally she was more like 13. Her wavy long light brown hair falling either side of her face. She took in a deep breath and began to sing a song she heard on the Lowee, Ninten-Radio. Frequency 55.6.
The band name was Organised Blueprints or, as she had been told by Neptune, in another dimension they were called Simple Plan. But she didn't know anything more about it.
"I think I got a lot of friends-" She remembered all her friends. "But I don't hear from them-" She looked down. "What's another night all alone, When you're spending every day on your own..." She took in a very deep breath and began to sing. "And here it goes-"
"I'm just a kid, and life is a nightmare, I'm just a kid and I know that its not fair." She saw a few houses start to light up, she was basically singing them to sleep. So, she smiled and continued. "Nobody cares 'cause I'm alone, And the world is, Having more fun then me-"
"And maybe when the night is dead..." She saw one house turn its lights off. "I'll crawl into my bed, I'm staring at these four walls again. I'll try to think about the last time, I had a good time. Everyone's got somewhere to go - And they're gonna leave me here on my own... And here it goes."
She heard one of the nearby shops start up the instrumental to the song she was currently singing so she giggled. 'I'm making a name here... I'll carry on...'
"I'm just a kid, And life is a nightmare. I'm just a kid, I know that it's not fair, Nobody cares 'Cause I'm alone and the world is, Having more fun than me-"
She heard one of the girls from one of the houses. "Go for it Ram!"
Ram giggled and looked around; everyone who was underage was asleep so she decided to take a leaf out of her older sister's book. "What the, fuck, is wrong with me. Don't fit in with anybody, How did this happen to me?"
"Wide awake I'm bored and, I can't fall asleep. And every night is the worst night ever..."
She carried on the chorus. And repeated the same line a few times. "I'm just a kid, I'm just a kid..." She heard the drums from one of the houses.
"I'm just a kid (I'm just a kid) Yeah, I'm just a kid (I'm just a kid) I'm just a kid (I'm just a kid) I'm just a kid. And life is a nightmare, I'm just a kid. I know that its not fair, Nobody cares. 'Cause I'm alone and the world is Nobody wants to be alone in the world-"
Elsewhere in the Loweean Basilicom, Blanc was wide awake in her office, working away when she heard Ram swear - She stopped. And looked down the corridor with a soft smile. "I never thought she learned that word quite so fast..."
Mina looked at Blanc as she gave her a warm drink to help her with her work. "You are a major influence on the twins. Perhaps, the best one they have."
"The only one they have."
Back with Ram she was singing with the entire of Lowee's adolescent teenagers (Pre-13 years old) also starting to sing the same. They all knew the words and Ram loved it. She started to echo her magic amongst them all.
"I'm just a kid, And all life is a nightmare. I'm just a kid, I know that its not fair. Nobody cares 'cause I'm alone and the world is, Nobody wants to be alone in the world. Nobody cares 'cause I'm alone, And the world is, Having more fun than me. Tonight..."
She knew to wrap it up. "I'm all alone, Tonight... Nobody cares, Tonight, 'Cause I'm just a kid tonight..." She echoed it slowly out to the audience she had and the instruments faded.
Ram smiled and closed the window. Going to bed and laying down, falling asleep within moments.
What Ram didn't know, was that Rom had arrived home early because Nepgear and Neptune had a serious chat to have, and had listened to the entire song outside the door. "I never knew... I'll never leave you, Ram."
Rom went in and got changed; falling asleep next to Ram. Ram curled up next to Rom.
Around 10 minutes later, at the stroke of midnight, Blanc looked into the twins room and saw them sleeping soundly. She smiled warmly at them. 'Maybe... Maybe they can take control one day...'
Blanc went to her room for bed. Having finished her work and kept it in mind to have a treat ready for Ram and Rom. She would take them to a brand new ice cream parlour on the South Side of Lowee for their birthdays.
And that was how, Ram made her own mark on the people of Lowee. Singing the children to sleep and giving the teenagers something to listen to while gaming. The adults, while they didn't approve of the swear word - They approved of the general message.
