A/N: This came from the idea that Wally West was unloved by his parents (even if that occurs in his adult years, during the canon). I wanted to explore how starvation might feel to someone with an enhanced metabolism. Enjoy!

Wally West was starving.
It wasn't the I'm starving; is it dinnertime type of starving. It wasn't the I'm starving, let's get a snack type of starving. Those were mere hunger.
It was the I'm starving; I can see my ribs type of starving. This was the type of starvation where he could see the concave in his stomach. Acid stuck to the inside of his mouth while cramps twisted his pelvis inside and out, trying to squeeze out the last of nutrients left from the palm sized chicken last night. Wally felt the deep aching of an empty stomach.
So, he reaches forward to a compartment where he keeps snacks for these incidents. His legs, used to carrying him across hundreds of kilometers, cramp up from exhaustion and refuse to move. The long muscles are thin and sinewy like stringed cheese. If he doesn't eat soon his metabolism would consume them to keep his heart beating.
He couldn't afford to keep getting distracted. The box was already a double image and if he didn't move soon, he would faint until Barry came to find him for patrol. Nobody needed to see his freakishness.
The carpet, normally soft, scuffled against his chin as he dragged himself towards the fading box. Fingers dug into hairs of glass until his head clunked against something hard. Food.
One energy bar was left. Wally ripped through the paper and crunched on a brown cracker. In 10 seconds, the entire bar was gone.
Slumping to the ground, his stomach crunched into the largest cramp of the day, stabbing him right in the center. Wally's body was trying to achieve equilibrium from the sudden intake of food. His rapid metabolism would burn through the bar within the next hour, but at least he was still alive.
Wally West was still starving.
A/N: I hope you enjoyed this drabble. I'm still learning so I would love any constructive criticism. Please stay safe during quarantine!
