This is insane! A mob. That was the only word to describe the group of jostling, screaming Day Class Students (mostly girls) jumping around each other like children hyped up on sugar. They were trying to push past the Headmaster's daughter and Disciplinary Committee member, Yuki Cross, who was completely overwhelmed by their numbers. Miu and Kimiko were trying to pull Akane right into the heart of the rabble.

Upon seeing the chaos, Akane slammed on the breaks in protest, causing Miu to stagger at her friend's sudden halt. She turned and pouted at the incredulous look Akane sent her as she pulled at her hand insistently.
"Akane, you said you'd come, now come!"
"And I'm here, but I need to breathe! I'll never survive that!" She protested, pointing at the chaotic horde. "I'll stay here, where I know I won't be trampled to death!"
"But you won't see," Miu whined.
"I'll see them fine. They'll have to walk past here to get to school anyway," Akane assured, pointing further up the lane, where she'd have a clear view of the Night Class students when they passed.

"It's opening!" a voice called from within the throng of students, gaining the trio's attention. The gates to the prestigious Moon Dorms were opening, and enough time had been wasted on Akane, in Kimiko's opinion.
"Come on Miu! She says she can see from here. Now, let's go!" She gripped the shorter girl's arm and pulled her into the crowd, pushing and squeezing their way through the tightly packed bodies that were all competing for space to catch a glimpse of the esteemed students or Cross Academy.

Akane watched in amused disbelief as her usually, well-mannered friends, elbowed and pushed their way through before they were swallowed up by their classmates. Resigning herself to a lengthy wait for her friends, Akane moved towards the treeline that ran along the path from The Moon Dorms to the academy and sat at the foot of a tree. She shook her head at her friends and their antics. Getting all worked up over good bone structure. Honestly, people here are crazy. Her gaze turned upward to the leafy canopy of the trees around her, watching the wind pull on the branches, admiring the sun's golden light bouncing through the leaves as it sank towards the horizon.

Miu and Kimiko would be admiring the Night Class for some time, so, Akane laid back, getting comfortable in the shade of the trees and listen to the forest-like garden around her. She had to drown out the excited cries of the Day Class to properly relax, and to an extent, she managed it. The trees supplied shade from the glare of the setting sun and the ground was warm from bathing in its' light, so, she'd be relatively content for a while.

The Night Class students were stood in the lobby of The Moon Dorms, waiting for the word from their Dorm President to begin the trek through the usual assault course of Day Class students to get to their classes. Aido Hanabusa stood at the front of the group, closest to the door, with his cousin, Akatsuki Kain. Their peers chatting and mingled amongst themselves around them as usual. However, as the doors opened, a soft breeze blew in, carrying with it, a faint but intoxicating scent.

Inside the dorm entrance, obscured by shadow, but with their red, bloodthirsty eyes easily visible, stood the Night Class students. Vampires. The conversations died as the Vampires clutched at their throats and rummaged in their bags or pockets for the blood tablets issued to help with their cravings. Even the Dorm President, Kaname Kuran, and the Dorm Vice President, Takuma Ichijo, who were usually in complete control of their bloodlust, had to take a tablet to quiet their desires after the sudden attack on their senses.

"Ignore it!" Kaname ordered as evenly as he could.
"Could that be a new student?" Ichijo asked after his control had been re-established. Kaname frowned as his red eyes returned to their dark mahogany. He watched as the Night Class struggled to calm themselves.
"I will speak to the Headmaster," he replied evenly. Once he was satisfied everyone had composed themselves, he gestured for them to make their way to the external gates.

Aido walked with his cousin, trying to ignore the scent as instructed by his Lord, but it was proving difficult.
"Just forget about it, Hanabusa," Kain cautioned, the strain in his voice was minimal but detectable. He knew his cousin had little control over his thirst at the best of times, to be presented with such a tantalising scent… well, he knew Kaname would want this to be the quickest and least eventful exit from the dorms ever.

Aido swallowed one of his pills, gritting his teeth against the fire that had awakened within his thirst, then turned to assure his cousin as they neared the gates. The large wooden doors opened with a loud creak of their iron hinges as the Night Class approached. Aido's admirer's excited giggles became cries of adulation as he forced his most charming smile on his face. He walked along the path, using his hand as an imaginary gun and 'shot' a few of the crowd. They rewarded his theatrics by fainting with a sigh at being 'shot' by their 'Idol'. He enjoyed their reactions, much like every changeover, so it's no wonder he became distracted.

Kain walked on and found himself a little away from the crowd, staring into the forested garden they walked through to get to the academy every day, with a slight frown marring his handsome features. He was soon joined by Aido, however, who was confused as to what could have drawn his more stoic relative's attention so completely.

The scent lingering in the air that had hit them all in the dorm drifted over him, free of the mingled scents of the Humans around them, culminating in a body lying under a tree, not twenty feet away.
"What do you wanna bet, that's the source of this scent?" Kain asked, not taking his eyes off the Human resting peacefully in the late-afternoon sun. Aido moved towards the Human without a word with his cousin at his side.
