Sin grinned slightly after a full two hours of explaining the situation and answering every answer the hokage. He couldn't be anymore thankful that the old man was kind enough to let him out of the shackles after seeing he had told not a single lie and gave him a meal. He could have broken the shackles off since the seals did not coerce with stopping his magic, but he figured that to be in the old man's good graces he had to play nice and go along with everything.

Sarutobi sighed and took out his smoking pipe. Never in his long life did expect to hear such a story or come to grips that in another universe there were talking horses that were only less human by their species. He lit a nice pinch of tobacco and inhaled deeply in front of the man who could do nothing but grin at him.

"I'm too old for this shit." He said to himself, but it didn't escape Sin's ears and heard him chuckle lightly.

"You think your old," Sin said proudly. "I'm over a thousand years old."

Sarutobi almost inhaled his entire pipe at that moment but quickly recovered after spitting out the burnt tobacco flakes that escaped his pipe, and stood up to slam his hands against his desk.

"Impossible!" He exclaimed, and Sin shook his head before snapping his fingers to reveal the illusion of his now ex-wife's scar over his heart.

"I thought the same thing at first, but life is a big bitch with a sick sense of humor."

Sarutobi slouched back into his chair and pinched the bridge of his nose. The thought of an immortal person his thinking right in his tracks and he seemingly came to grips. He calmed down a little but knew there was still more to learn before coming to an executive decision with this man.

"You're not kidding, are you?"

"I wish I was."

"Damn you Minato." Sarutobi said aloud. "Even in death you give a near-heart attack. Anything else I should know about what happened between you two."

"Only the fact that he chose me, and I belief it's due to my abilities." Sin answered confidently.

"Abilities?"

Sin looked around the room for a solid minute before finally surrendering to one of probably hundred ideas he had to prove himself. Smiling arrogantly, he pointed at the pipe in Sarutobi's hand.

"Hold that out." He ordered, and the old hokage obliged with much curiosity like his anbu.

Sin focused on said pipe and continued to summon magic in focus of the object before snapping his fingers, his action causing a small stream of fire to burst from the pipe and startle the entire group for a few seconds before waving his hand to douse the fire. Sadly though, the tobacco flakes were as good as useless after the hokage turned it over to see nothing but ashes fall out.

"And that's not even the tip of the iceberg." Sin added with fervor. "If I really tried I could burn an entire country to ash, but I suppose that would render my reason for being here."

"Indeed." Sarutobi nodded. "Now I have to ask as the leader of this village and as Naruto's guardian; what can you provide for the village that would convince me to allow the custody of the boy."

"My power." Sin said quickly, his hands forming signs only familiar to him before he cast what he knew to be the nine tomes of power.

Though strange and unknown to the hokage, he could clearly see the control and depth of the man's capabilities and gasped as he found himself standing in a ring made by the nine orbs, each giving off a familiar energy yet so different to his comprehension.

"You want protection, I can give it." Sin started, his demeanor very serious. "You want power, I can provide. Wisdom, I've got more than enough. There is almost nothing I can't do and allowing me here would not only be beneficial for you, it would make the strongest village ever known."

Sarutobi glared at Sin for a brief minute to ponder his thoughts. He now had no doubt in his mind nor in the strange instinct he always had as a shinobi that Sin was something far beyond what most would call a true warrior. Fear and suspicion still came over him as he wondered the pros and cons and possibly enlist a stranger into the shinobi ranks and giving him as a Sensei to Naruto.

He shook his head a little in disappointment of himself, but the greed of a leader had once again overtook the care of grandfather figure, and he nodded to the man before taking out a form and handing it to Sin.

He proceeded to hand it to Sin but stopped with a sliver of said suspicion coming back. "If this comes back to haunt me, there will be no corner in the world for you to hide from my wrath. I'm only doing this because I trust Minato and his viewpoint, even if he is dead."

"You won't regret this," Sin said proudly before making his history file appear with a snap of his finger and hand it to the kage. "I think this will convince you a little more. Read it while I go over this."

Silent and focused for another hour, both men continued to their own purposes and waited for the other to finish before making any other executive decisions between one another.

"Is this really your account?" Sarutobi asked with wide eyes.

"That's only half of what I have," Sin answered before tapping his bag. "The rest is sitting here in my bag. Can't be too careful, but that reminds me; how much does a gold coin go for here?"

"I cannot say since I'm not a banker." Sarutobi chuckled, only to have a large pouch from Sin's bag be tossed at his desk.

"Well have someone come and count this, and sure to tell them to have a container ready because the enchantment on that will break once it's opened."

The anbu laughed quietly thinking Sin was out of his mind. A punch enchanted to hold more coin than what it showed, surely he was an idiot or lightly crazy. The look on their leader however, proved otherwise as he could not lift the pouch and his desk was close to snapping in half. Thankfully Sin apologized and snapped his fingers again, using his magic to reduce the great weight that was inside.

"I'll be sure to have it done." Sarutobi agreed before calling his secretary and telling her to have a bank representative come to his office. "Now then, judging from your credential I'd say you're more than qualified to-"

And despite the fact that a stranger was in the office, a very well known and hyperactive knucklehead ran through the door and made his appearance known by all. Standing between a surprised Sin and Sarutobi was the one whom they were well focused on, with all his energy and childish nature radiating throughout the room as the secretary came in hot on his heels.

"Forgive me Lord Third." She bowed respectfully to him. "This boy ran inside and I couldn't stop him since I was making a letter to the-"

Sarutobi held up his hand and nodded. "It's quite alright. I needed him here anyway." He turned his attention back to the boy. "Now Naruto, what can I do for you this evening?"

Naruto grinned brightly and thrust a finger at the old kage before stating with absolute confidence. "Give up that old man because I just came up with a new jutsu that will knock your socks off!"

"This is the kid?" Sin thought to himself and pondered about the boy who was frantically demanding that the old man come outside to see his new jutsu. Sadly though he was refused the moment of triumph and guided to meet the man he saw in the crater.

"Naruto, as much as I would like to pass the mantle to you, you are still far too young and inexperienced." Sarutobi replied with a warm smile. "However, I have found a solution to your dilemma, and he's sitting behind you."

In a flash of turning on his heels, Naruto spun around to meet the man who was waiting patiently to meet him. He stared for what had to have gone on for at least two minutes before the silence was broken by Sarutobi.

"Naruto, I'd like you to meet our newest jounin member and your new sensei." He introduced formally, gesturing for the blonde to approach. "His name is Sin, and for certain reasons between us, he will training and watching over you as today."

Sin looked up to question the old man what meant about certain reasons until the bulb clicked in his head that it would be wise to not mention Naruto's deceased father rising momentarily from the dead to give him a necessary sensei. Understanding the situation and how a small boy couldn't comprehend their conversation, Sin nodded to the kage before looking down at the curious boy and holding out his hand to formally meet him.

"Nice to meet ya kid."

Not entirely impressed with the man before him, Naruto turned back to his oldest friend and pointed a thumb at Sin.

"Gramps, I wanted a sensei that knows what they're doing;" Naruto complained, making a tick mark form on Sin's head. "Not some teenager that looks like he just got promoted to jounin."

"Little shit." Sin muttered.

"Now hold on Naruto," Sarutobi started, defending the man. "Sin is quite the capable ninja and I assure you that he will make you the best ninja you can be."

"Believe it." Sin added, getting a chuckle from boy.

"I say that all the time." Naruto giggled before turning around to slap the man's hand. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki, and I plan on being the next hokage and the greatest ninja to exist."

"I can tell."

"So when can we start training, because I want to get to it as soon as possible." Naruto demanded as he watched Sin pick up his sword and bag, readying to leave the office.

However, Naruto was very excited to see a sword in Sin's hand and took a very long gander at the magnificent weapon before trying to touch the strange symbols that were on the sheath, only to have his hand slapped away.

"I don't think so squirt," Sin laughed. "Nobody touches this thing but me. And we'll start when I have settled in, which will not take long at all. But seriously, nobody touches my sword but me."

Sadly though he was wrong since it was temporarily confiscated before returned by one of the anbu.

Sarutobi went through more paperwork and picked up another form to give to Sin for further steps into his new life as a shinobi. "I believe you can have this as starting payment. We'll deduct it from your account after your money is tilled and documented. As for a place to stay-"

"I'll stay with the kid." Sin interrupted, just in time to hear his stomach growl. He hated the fact that the death god didn't do something about his magic enhancing metabolism beyond measure. "Alright I need more food, so does anybody know of a good place to eat."

"I know the perfect place." Naruto exclaimed, grabbing his new sensei by his wrist and dragging him out of the office. "Later gramps, and thanks!"

In a swift motion, Sarutobi was once again left alone with nothing but his wits and worries about him. He watched through the window as Sin followed Naruto through the streets whilst pulling a shirt from his bag and putting it on to avoid anymore stares from the villagers, not that he minded since it was seen from the office that some of the women were going gaga about his scars.

"Anbu!" He said with authority, his bodyguards appearing again. "Keep a close eye on that man. He may be with us now, but I still have my suspicions. If he is a threat to Naruto I want you to eliminate him."

"Yes Lord Third." They replied before disappearing in the shadows.

Ichiraku Ramen

Sin inhaled deeply as Naruto made the order of food for the both of them, his introductions a little abhorrent but effective since his two favorite people greeted him with joy and excitement to have a new customer come into the shop for the best ramen in the world. That, however, was not what had Sin so calm and happy; it was the fact that not only did he see other humans, it was the fact that he had a woman before him with her chin in her hands and a loving smile on her as she made conversation with the boy. He couldn't believe he wasn't with a woman, an actual woman and not a mare. Oh how he missed the beauty of naturally colored person with glistening skin in the sunlight that began to dim in the darkness of the night.

Moments later, the woman known to Naruto as Ayame turned her attention to Sin and proceeded to talk as the man, whose name he forgot moments ago, came around her and handed two bowels of freshly made pork ramen with all the works.

"So you're Naruto's new sensei," she began, watching him blow on his noodles before inhaling like the boy next to him. "That's gonna be a kick in the butt for his old team tomorrow when they find out."

"Speaking of which-" Sin stopped to swallow the mouthful he had before continuing. "Sorry. Anyway, who is his old team and what's the deal with that?"

Sin was no fool to circumstances and made it a mission to himself to gain intel about his situation as he felt something was deeper in need in understanding than what he was let on. Unfortunately, fate was a cruel mistress and she basically back-handed him with the question at hand now coming to full force with the answer he needed appearing behind with a not-so friendly demeanor about him as Naruto was oblivious to him. It didn't stop the immortal though, as it had been throughout his life that someone appearing out of the blue should not be considered friendly nor aggressive. His instincts kicked in however, and the very instant he sensed and saw the silver haired stranger his body reacted on it's own and drew Setsuna from it's sheath. A quick and precise swing of the blade, and the mysterious man before Sin stopped in shock before he could touch Naruto with deadly precision and certainty shining in the sun's dusk with so much as a gulp and his throat would be touched.

Sin didn't know it, but the stranger did what all ninja knew to be an advanced shunshin only taught to jounin, but it didn't stop him from feeling a darker emotion building in the masked man as their gazes.

Said stranger did his signature eye-smile and chuckled at Sin, though it did not nothing since the young immortal had too many situations similar to this and lost loved ones back in Equus.

"Sorry," the man joked lazily, putting a hand on Naruto's shoulder to draw his attention. "I'm just here to pick up my student and inform him to be ready for training tomorrow."

"Which one are you?" Sin asked, sheathing his blade before things got out of hand, though he could see that this man was internally panicking for almost beheading him.

"Kakashi Sensei," Naruto muttered, only for Sin to hear as he watched carefully the gaze of this man turn from friendly to dark.

Sin realized what made Naruto turn sour a moment later and glared at the lazy jouni. This was supposed to be his teacher and friend and yet he was not showing any courtesy of friendship to the young blonde. The way he stood, the way he talked to the boy, even the way he stared at him, Sin could see without any other reason that this man was part of the cause to his new friend's sudden change and decided to make situation very known.

"Sorry," the immortal said, drawing their attention as he put his sword back against his seat. "But your hokage has just reinstated Naruto here for me as his teacher. He will not be under your tutelage nor guidance any longer since the old man feels he would be better off in my hands."

Kakashi let out a small chuckle and pat Naruto's head, only to have it swat by the boy. "I do believe I was informed of any changes, so as far as I'm concerned, Naruto is still my student." He replied before looking a little wistful. "And I highly doubt Lord Third would leave Naruto in the hands of someone who appears to be a teenager."

Soon enough, the two males were having a serious glaring contest and found eachother holding the boy's shoulders as the atmosphere in the ramen shop became very tense. It did not much to anger Sin after seeing how he was squeezing Naruto's shoulder and hurting him, and took it upon himself to make his standing in the situation known.

"Go ask him yourself, you'll probably hear about tomorrow if you don't go now." Sin suggested, his hand wrapped around Kakashi's before anyone could blink, and squeezing it to the point of breaking his fingers. "Now I suggest you run along now and do what you must. The boy is my student now, and I will not tolerate your presence any longer."

"Is that a threat?" Kakashi asked dangerously, trying to suppress his response to the pain. However, a deeper squeeze from Sin and he found himself kneeling on the ground his knuckles starting to pop out of place.

"It's a promise." Sin answered, flaring his magic into his eyes to instill fear in the man. "Now fuck off."

The man everyone knew to be the copycat cat ninja had no choice but to back down and get answers for himself. He was respected by many and feared by criminals, and now he was disappearing in a swirl of leaves whilst glaring at the blond that decided to spit raspberries at him.

"That was interesting." Ayame said to herself.

It was at that moment Sin had enough of his first day in the ninja world and placed a considerable amount of ryo the hokage gave him onto the serving table and beckoned Naruto to take him to his apartment for the night. Of course, Naruto was not quick with goodbyes since Ayame was practically a sister to him and decided to give her a hug before running home to show Sin where he would be staying.

It was late in Konoha now as the two made it into the apartment, and Sin was beyond disgusted how the outside of Naruto's apartment was covered in sladering graffiti and dirtied with splotches of rotten food that was thrown against the walls. The inside was not any better either, as it had shown in the the young boy's actions that he did not understand hygiene. His clothes were scattered across the floor, ramen bowls were strung about the walls, even weapons that Sin was not familiar of were stuck in the walls on targets or just plainly dirty from whatever his new student used them for.

As the moonlight shone through the window and Sin examined the place from head to toe, he could not feel but a little disgusted that the boy Minato wanted him to train was nothing more than a slop living in a pigsty.

"Yeah, I don't really have a bed since it is filthy," Naruto told Sin somberly, ashamed of himself for having such living conditions. "But I have a couple of extra futons in the closet that can-"

"I'll handle this." Sin interrupted, dropping his things onto a vacant spot on the table before letting the cleaner side of his person took over.

"GAH!" Naruto shouted as in the instant he turned to his new sensei he discovered that he was floating and falling next to Sin who happened to be weaving a strange energy from his hands.

"Fix!" Sin shouted, and the entire room was covered in a yellow aura. Observant yet tired, he made his way to the couch next to the west window and laid down as his spell made the entire room clean itself. However, he had one more problem to deal with, as it had never seen anything like and it's jaw was touching the floor and it's eyes as wide as dinner plates.

"What jutsu is that!?" Naruto screamed, gawking at his teacher who was trying to find a comfortable spot on the couch.

"Not jutsu," Sin answered, pulling an unfinished bowl of ramen from under the couch cushion and tossing it into the trash. "Magic."

"Magic?" Naruto questioned, receiving a nod.

"Yup, now get some shuteye." Sin ordered. "Because tomorrow we're starting your training. Also, be up at eight o'clock or you won't get breakfast."

Naruto wanted to argue and question the white-haired man about his so-called magic, but sleep started to overtake him to the point ignoring the fact that his own apartment was cleaning itself, and decided head straight for bed. He figured he could ask questions tomorrow. He slowly marched into his room and prepared to maneuver around the trash and clothes but found himself entering a bedroom that was spotless. His trash was gone, his weapons were put away, even the futon he slept on was gone and the entire bed was spotless with the sheets and comforter appearing stain-free and smelling fresh.

He could not believe it after looking back down the hallway to find the aura his teacher made was gone and his home was spotless. There wasn't a single untidy thing and the smell of garbage was completely gone. Naruto was not one to show gratitude, but he had that pull on heartstrings and made it his goal before the night was over to give his new teacher a blanket to cover him, which he did carefully before quietly walking to his room with anticipation to finally have a bed to sleep on.

Crawling under the covers, he giggled lightly as the soft mattress eased his muscles and helped him drift to sleep with a smile on his face, his mind already anticipating more exciting things to happen when he wakes up in the morning.

Little did he know that a certain shinobi was outside his window and scowling at how he could be so happy.
