Mr. Koiwai spent that morning putting money on his card at the convenience store to pay the bills when Yotsuba asked about the expenses.

"What's the card for again?"

"It's for paying bills as well as getting things online."

"Cool, Yotsuba wants a card too, as well as a computer!"

"You'll get a card when you're older. As for the computer, we can look that up online together."

When they got back home, Yotsuba's dad paid the rent and utilities for that month. Yotsuba sat in her dad's lap to look at the computer screen. He noticed this and looked up kid's computers on a shopping site. Most of them were pretty expensive, but he found one perfect for his daughter that also happened to be cheap.

"Yotsuba likes that one, Daddy! Can I get it?"

"You sure can, as long as you do what you're told."

"Yay!"

Mr. Koiwai clicked the buy now button on the item and the approval message appeared in the email inbox. He calculated the total after the expenses on the spreadsheet and thought for a moment.

'I hope everything will be all right.' He sighed.

"Is everything okay, Daddy?" Yotsuba wondered.

"Daddy was just checking the account balance after the purchase I made for you."

"Why? Is it a grownup thing? Is it Yotsuba's fault?"

"You can say it's a grownup thing, paying bills before buying stuff you want. It's not your fault, Yotsuba. You're a good kid even though you mess up sometimes." He ruffled her hair.

"I'm a good kid because Daddy says so, yippee!"

"Okay, off you go because I need to go to the bathroom. Don't touch the computer, okay?"

Yotsuba waited for her father to come out of the bathroom for five minutes, then ten minutes. After thirty minutes, Yotsuba was curious about her dad's computer so she hiked the seat up so she could see well. The screen was intense for Yotsuba's eyes for she saw many familiar words like "milk" and "books", but for the others, they were too complicated for her to understand.

"Whew, that felt like a workout; I must've lost five pounds from that."

Yotsuba put the seat down the way her father had it before she hiked the seat up. Mr. Koiwai noticed this and questioned his daughter.

"Did you mess up my computer? The seat is a little lower than usual."

"You were taking a while on the potty and I was curious about the website. I'm sorry."

"At least you said you're sorry. Good."

After about a week, Yotsuba's package came in the mail. Her father helped set up the computer in her room and told her about online safety.

"Don't give out any important information to anybody and if you have any questions, come to me. Got all that?"

"Roger!" She saluted him.

"Yay, Yotsuba's got a computer! Ooh, what's this?"

On the screen, there was a video explaining the controls. She clicked on the icons it told her to examine and then the Internet Explorer screen popped up. Yotsuba was eager to check out the shopping site on her new computer like her father but then a message appeared saying that it can only go to Google and YouTube and sorry for the inconvenience with a bowing image. Needless to say, Yotsuba was more than upset and went to her father.

"What's the matter, don't you like your new computer?"

"That one won't let me buy stuff like Daddy can!"

"I put a block on the shopping sites so if you want something, you'll have to ask me to get it for you. Okay?"

"That's mean, Daddy! Put it back to where it was!" She bopped him on his stomach.

"Why don't we watch YouTube together then?" He suggested after putting her in the corner for a time out.

"Okay. There's this one about pandas dancing. It looked funny!"

"There you go."

"There's Miku! She's really cool!"

"Is she, now? What else did you want to show me?"

"This one that has other kids in it."

Yotsuba clicked on an anime show and it had a group of kids playing tag. She giggled as one of the kids got spanked by a fox lady as the other kids ran away. She was glad that didn't happen to her anymore; now it's just the corner for her time out when she misbehaves. Her father chuckled as the show ended on a happy note and then it was time for bed. Yotsuba turned off her computer, got her pajamas on, brushed her teeth and said good night to her father.

"Good night, Yotsuba."
