It was the spring of 2019. John Cena still wasn't dating after ending his engagement with Nikki Bella. He was in New York City for an appearance. Acrossed the street from him he saw someone he knew, so he crossed the street to say hi.

"Lexie." He said.

Lexie Kessler turned around. She was Kim Orton's younger sister. She was a very beautiful woman. She was short with long dark wavy brown hair, dark brown eyes, tanned skin and a butterfly tattoo on her left wrist. "John, hi."

"Hi." They hugged. "It's been a long time."

"Yeah."

"What are you doing in the city?"

"I just decided to go shopping."

"Do you have somewhere to be?"

"Not at the moment."

"Would you like to go to lunch?"

"Sure."

They went to a restaurant they were eating and talking.

"How's your business going?" John asked.

"It's really taken off." "I've opened three more gyms acrossed the country since I last saw you."

"That's great."

"I know you're acting career is going great." "My favorite so far has been Blockers, you were great."

"Thanks."

"I was sorry to hear about your break up."

"It's been difficult but I'm getting through it."

"That's good." "I know what it's like." "I was a mess after Ricky left me."

"Anyone special in your life these days?"

"No."

"Me neither." "I haven't dated since the split." "How are your kids?"

"They're good." "They're both at sleepovers this weekend."

"How old are they now?"

"Max is six and Marybeth is four."

"Six and four, wow." He said disbelief. "Last time I saw them they were two and nine months."

"Wanna see a picture?"

"Yeah." She got out her phone and showed him a picture. "Aw." "Marybeth takes after her mommy, she's beautiful."

"Thank you."

"Max looks a lot like Ricky."

"Yeah."

"Does he ever see the kids?"

"We haven't seen him since he left us." "Last I heard he was living in Mexico somewhere."

"Do they remember him?"

"No."

"Have you seen Kim and my jerk of a best friend lately?" He said jokingly.

She laughed. "I just talked to Kim last night." "They're doing good."

"I miss them."

They were getting ready to leave.

"Thank you for lunch." She said.

"My pleasure."

"John, would you like my number in case you ever want to talk?"

"Yeah." They exchanged numbers. "It was great seeing you."

"Same here." They hugged. "Bye."

"Bye."

Later that night Lexie was getting ready for bed. She'd dated since her divorce but nothing she could ever see going long term. She longed for the kind of love that Kim and Randy shared. Lexie's cell phone started to ring.

"Hello?" She said.

"Hi Lex." John said.

"Hi John."

"What are you doing?"

"Getting ready for bed."

"Me to." "How was the rest of your day?"

"Good." "I miss my little ones though."

"I'll bet." "I'm glad I ran into you today."

"Me to." "It was fun."

"Yeah it was." "Well I'll let you go so you can get some sleep."

"Ok." "Goodnight."

"Goodnight." They hung up.

"I am glad I ran into John today." She thought. "He's a great guy, and gorgeous." "To bad he doesn't want children."

"I didn't think it was possible." John thought as he laid down in bed. "Lexie has become more beautiful since I last saw her." "If we clearly weren't on two separate life paths, maybe I would've asked her out today."
