Over the past three weeks Lexie and John had talked on the phone every night. They even Skyped a couple times. They both looked forward to talking nightly. It had been about an hour since she put the kids to bed. She was on her laptop. Her Skype ring went off. She pressed the button to connect. John popped up on the screen.
"Hi." He said.
"Hi." "How was your day?"
"Busy."
"Mine to."
"How are the kids doing?"
"They're good." "I'm planning a birthday party for Max's birthday in two weeks."
"He'll be seven right?"
"Yeah."
"I've been thinking about talking to you all day."
"Really?"
"Yeah "
"I've thought about it all day to."
"I was going to call you but I wanted to see your beautiful face."
"Aw, it sounds like you miss me."
"Well I guess that cat's out of the bag." She laughed. "Do you miss me?"
"Yeah."
They kept talking.
"What time is it?" John asked.
"Jesus, it's two in the morning." She said surprised.
"It is?"
"Yeah." "I have to go."
"Alright." "Sweet dreams." "Goodnight."
"Goodnight." They disconnected. He didn't know it but the past couple nights Lexie had been having sex dreams about John.
The next afternoon Lexie was in her office at the gym on her lunch break. The Skype ring on her office computer went off. She pressed the button to connect. Kim popped up.
"Hi little sis." Kim said.
"Hi." "You're on your lunch break right?"
"Yeah."
"Good, then you can tell me who he is. She said smiling.
"Who?"
"Your boyfriend?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about Kim." "I don't have a boyfriend."
"Bullshit." "Every time I talk to you on here, you're glowing."
"Well I don't know what you're seeing because I don't have a boyfriend."
"Why won't you tell me about him?"
"There's nothing to tell."
"Is it because I'm always overprotective when it comes to you and your boyfriends?" "I won't do that this time."
She laughed. "You do it every time."
"I know."
"I swear I don't have a boyfriend."
"Fine, don't tell me."
"I have to go."
"Ok, I love you Lexie."
"I love you too Kim." "Bye."
Bye." They disconnected.
That Saturday night Lexie was texting with John. He and Randy had met up at a bar in Chicago for a beer. John was making sure to hold his phone so Randy couldn't see it.

When he got her text he smiled.
"Who is she?" Randy asked smirking.

"I like her a lot but she has kids." "So we can't go anywhere." "It's a shame." "She's a great person and a fantastic mom "

John just smirked. "As much as I've thought about it, and want it really bad, we can't." "It would just complicate things." "The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt her." "Wanna play pool?"
"Yeah."
