Today was Max's birthday was today. His party was later that day. It was a Saturday morning. Lexie and Marybeth went to wake up Max

"Birthday boy, wake up." Lexie said. He opened his eyes. "Here comes mommy's birthday kisses." She jumped on the bed and kissed him on the cheek. "There's one." She did it again. "Two...

"Mommy." He said laughing. She made it to ten.

"Ok, what do you want for breakfast?"

"Scrambled eggs."

"Ok."

They were all in the kitchen eating breakfast. Lexie sat her laptop down in front of Max. The Skype ring went off. She pressed the button to connect and Kim and all the kids popped up, except Alanna who was with her mom. They all sang happy birthday to Max.

"Thank you." Max said. "Where's uncle Randy?"

"He's on the road." Kim said. All the boys went off camera. "Max I have a question for you."

"What?"

"Does your mommy have a boyfriend?" She said smiling.

"No."

"See, I told you." Lexie said. "I don't have a boyfriend."

"I wanna talk to Marybeth." Kim said.

"Ok." Max said. "Marybeth come here."

Marybeth got in front of the camera. "Hi aunt Kim."

"Hi." "Does mommy have a boyfriend?"

"No."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Lexie have you bribed your own children?"

Lexie laughed. "No." She said. "Stop grilling the kids."

Max's party had ended about a half hour ago. He'd had a great time and gotten tons of presents. Lexie got a message that there was a package downstairs waiting for her. It was a medium size box. The only thing it said on it was. For Max. She took it upstairs.

"Max you got another present." Lexie said.

"From who?"

"I don't know." "It doesn't say." Max opened the box. Inside was a custom made baseball uniform. With the name Vasquez sitched in the back. Vasquez being Max and Marybeth's last name. A new baseball mitt was also in the box with Max's name on it.

"Wow." Max said. "Do you think this is from uncle Randy?"

"I don't know."

"I'm gonna go try it on."

Lexie called Kim to see if Randy had sent it and she said no.

Later that night after putting the kids to bed, Lexie was cleaning up the kitchen. Her cell phone rang.

"Hello?" She said.

"Hi." John said.

"Hey." She said smiling. "I was just thinking about you."

"You were?"

"Yeah."

"How was Max's party?"

"Good."

"Did he like his baseball uniform?"

"You sent it?"

"Yeah."

"He loved it."

"Good."

"John, that was so sweet of you." "You didn't have to."

"I wanted to." "When's Marybeth's birthday?"

"May 30th."

"So I have a little over a month."

"I have an opening in my schedule August 17th." "I want to come see you." "I know it's four months away, I wish it could be sooner."

"Me to, I'll get a sitter that night."

"Ok."
