Over the last two months Lexie and John continued to talk every day. They both couldn' for tomorrow night. John was coming to town and they were going to dinner. The kids were asleep and Lexie and John were talking on the phone.
"Is it tomorrow night yet?" John said.
"Not yet."
"Time is dragging."
"I know." "Especially the last few weeks."
"Yeah." "Are the kids looking forward to going back to school next week?"
"Yeah." "Marybeth's looking forward to starting first grade."
"I'll bet."
"I feel old.."
"Why?"
"Well it seems like just yesterday I brought Marybeth home from the hospital." "Now she's starting first grade."
"You're not old baby you're young and beautiful."
"Well of course you think that you're, um, well, the one sleeping with me."
"Well as the one sleeping with you I know you're young and beautiful." "If anyone has to worry about getting old it's me."
"You're not old honey." "You're sexy and great in bed."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah." "Especially Kim and Randy's basement bed."
"That's the only bed we've ever done it in."
"I know and it was so great."
"Yeah it was."
"I have to go to bed honey "
"Ok." "Are you gonna dream about me?"
"Yes."
"Good." "Will I be naked?"
She laughed. So did he. "John." "Yes you'll be naked."
"Will you?"
"Yes."
"See you tomorrow night baby."
"I can't wait."
"Me neither." "Bye."
"Bye."
The next evening Lexie dropped the kids off at the sitters for the night. As she was waiting for John she was in the living room on her laptop wearing a light grey dress and make-up. Her Skype ring went off and she pressed the button to connect. Kim popped up on the screen.
"Hi." Kim said.
"Hi." Lexie said.
"Ooh, you look pretty."
"Thanks."
"Where are you going?"
"Out."
"With your boyfriend?" She said smiling.
"No, just out."
"Come on Lexie, tell me something." "It's been months."
"There's nothing to tell."
"Is he gonna get laid tonight?" She asked smiling.
Before she could answer there was a knock at the door. "I have to go." "Someone's at my door."
"Someone my ass, it's your boyfriend." "I wanna meet him."
"Bye." She hung up
Lexie answered the door. She and John smiled as soon as they saw each other.
"Hi." She said.
"Hi." They hugged and kissed. "You look beautiful."
"You look handsome."
"Ready?"
"Yeah."
They'd just sat down at the table at the restaurant.
"No separate checks this time." John said. "This is a date."
"It is?" She said smiling.
"Yeah." He kissed her.
They were standing outside her apartment.
"Wanna spend the night with me?" Lexie asked.
"What about the kids?"
"They're staying at the sitters tonight."
"I'd love to stay."
"Good." They went inside.
"Come here." He said smirking.
"Do you want me John?"
"Oh yeah." They kissed. He reached up under her dress and pulled down her panties. She undid his pants pulling them down along with his boxers. He lifted her off the ground, slipped inside her and started to move.
"Oh John." She moaned.
"Lexie." He groaned.
Later that night they'd just finished having sex for the third time. He was still on top of her. They kissed.
"I'm glad you're here." She said.
"I'm glad to." "I missed you so much."
"I missed you to." "I'm hungry." "Do you want a turkey sandwich?"
"Yeah." He got off of her.
She got up and put on her robe. "I'll be right back." She bent down to give him a kiss. She left the room.
