It had been a week since Thanksgiving. Lexie had a business trip to Denver, Colorado to talk about expanding her gyms to that state. She'd just checked into her hotel. She had a few hours before the meeting. About a half hour later her cell phone started to ring.
"Hello?" She said.
"Did you make it?" Kim asked.
"Yeah." "Sorry I forgot to call."
"Lexie, did you and your boyfriend break up or something?"
"Why?"
"You don't think I've noticed how sad you've been?" "Especially at Thanksgiving."
"Ok, I did have a boyfriend." "I don't anymore."
"How long did you date?"
"Seven months."
"Seven months and you didn't tell me?" She said shocked.
"We never thought it would turn into a relationship." "The reason the kids didn't tell you is because they never knew."
"He never met the kids?"
"He's met the kids but he didn't spend any time with them when we were together."
"Why?"
"He's never wanted kids."
"Well it's kind of silly to date someone who doesn't want kids when you have them."
"Like I said, we never thought it would turn into anything."
"So you broke up over the kids?"
"We broke up because I knew it was wrong to be in a relationship that didn't include Max and Marybeth."
"What a jerk."
"No don't say that, he's a great guy." "I knew what he wanted before anything romantic happened between us."
"What's his name?"
"It doesn't matter."
"Are you ok?"
"No."
The meeting had went great. They'd reached an agreement to have twelve gyms to be built in different cities all over the state. She should've been ecstatic but with everything going on with John she barely cared.
After grabbing dinner she got back to the hotel at around nine o'clock. She stopped in the lobby bar for a drink. She'd been there for about a half hour.
"I don't believe it." She heard John say from behind her. "Hi Lexie." He sat down at the bar stool next to her.
"Hi John."
"Want another drink?"
"Sure." He ordered their drinks.
"What are the chances?"
"I know." "What are you doing here?"
"I had an appearance." "You?"
"Business trip." "I expanded my gyms to twelve cites in Colorado."
"That's great, congratulations."
"Thanks."
"How are Max and Marybeth?"
"Good."
"Did you guys have a nice Thanksgiving?"
"Yeah."
Fifteen minutes later Lexie had finished her second drink.
"I'm gonna call it a night." Lexie said.
"Can I walk you up?"
"Yeah."
They were standing outside her room.
"It's so weird that we ran into each other tonight." John said.
"I know."
"I miss you Lexie."
"John, please don't."
"I do." He drifted closer to her lips.
"John, we can't." He kissed her. She kissed him back. She broke the kiss quickly unlocked her room and they went inside. They kissed passionately all the way to the bedroom. Once there they were both naked within seconds. They got on the on the bed. He slipped inside her and started to move. "John." She moaned. "You don't know how much I missed hearing that." He said. They kissed. "I missed you so much Lexie." "I missed you to, ohhhh." She moaned as he went faster. "Oh Lexie." He groaned. "Oh John." She moaned. "Ohhhh, my god, John, ohhhh, yes, yes, John." She moaned giving in. "Lexie." He groaned giving in.
Afterwards they were laying there.
"Lexie, I love you."
"I love you too John." They kissed.
