John was coming to visit Lexie and the kids tomorrow night. She was still very nervous about. Lexie was making dinner. Max and Marybeth were upstairs playing. Lexie's cell phone started to ring.

"Hello?" She said.

"Hi." Kim said. Lexie hadn't told Kim about her and John yet. She told herself that the next time she talked to Kim she would. "What are doing?"

"Making dinner." "I got back together with my boyfriend."

"What about the whole situation of him not wanting kids?"

"We're working it out." "He's going to come over and spend time with me and the kids tomorrow night."

"How much begging did you have to do for that?"

"None." "It was his idea."

"How long have you been back together?"

"Two weeks." "We ran into each in Denver, had sex and got back together."

"I want to know who he is."

"John Cena."

"John Cena?"

"Yeah."

"Lexie, he really doesn't want kids."

"He's really trying."

"It's not that I don't think John's a great guy, I do."

"But?"

"Knowing how he feels about having kids, I don't think you guys should be together."

"I understand your concerns, I have some of them to but I think we can make it work."

"I hope you're right." "Wait, you've been together eight months?"

"Yeah."

"So that means you were together when he came to the house this summer?"

"Yeah." "It was just a coincidence that day though." "Our first time together was that night in your basement."

"You had sex with John in my basement?"

"Yeah."

"Call me and let me know how it goes tomorrow night."

"I will." "I have to go." "Dinner's ready."

"Ok bye."

"Bye."

The next night there was a knock at the door. Lexie answered it. John was standing there.

"Hi." She said smiling.

"Hi." He said smiling back. He went inside. They kissed. "I left some dinner in the oven for you in case you're hungry."

"Thanks, I'm starving." Max and Marybeth came into the room. "Hey guys."

"Hi John." Max said.

"Hi."

"Mommy said you were in LA." Marybeth said.

"I was."

"Was it fun?"

"Yeah."

Max was showing John has room. It was covered in baseball memorabilia.

"These are my baseball cards." Max said.

"Cool." "This is a nice room."

Next Marybeth was showing him her room.

"What's this cute little panda?" John asked.

"Oh, that's Pandy." "I've had him since I was a baby." "I sleep with him every night."

"Well it was nice to meet Pandy."

After John ate they were all sitting in the living room talking.

"John do you love my mommy?" Max asked.

"Yes I do." John said.

"I love John to." Lexie said.

"How long have you guys been going out?" Marybeth asked.

"Eight months."

"Why did you wait so long to come see us?" Marybeth asked looking at John.

"Well… John said thinking about what to say. "Your mommy and I wanted to wait and see if we were going to last before I came over." "I bet you guys are excited about Santa coming next week." They both said yeah. "What do you guys want for Christmas?"

"We want a puppy but mommy says no." Max said.

"Why?"

"She says an apartment in the city isn't the right place for a puppy."

"Well she's right." "A puppy needs plenty of room to run around and play." "I would like to come and spend Christmas with you guys and your mommy."

"Will you help us decorate the tree?" Marybeth asked.

"Sure."

"That'll be fun." Max said.

After about another hour Lexie walked John to the door.

"I think that went really well." John said.

"Me to."

"The kids are great."

"They like you to." "I can tell." "I'll see you in a week."

"Alright." They kissed. "I love you."

"I love you too."

"Bye."

"Bye." He left.

Lexie was in Max's room on his bed. She'd just finished reading them a story.

"So, what do you guys think of John?" Lexie asked.

"I like him mommy." Marybeth said. "He's really nice."

"I like him to mommy." Max said.

"That's great." "He likes you guys to." Lexie said.

"Are you gonna marry him mommy?" Marybeth asked.

"No, but he will be around a lot."
