It was the third week of February. Everything was going great with Lexie and John. She couldn't believe that their one year anniversary was next month. Lexie was in her office doing client paperwork when her Skype ring went off on her work computer. She pressed the button to connect. Kim popped up.
"Hi." Kim said.
"Hi."
"Are you busy?"
"A little bit."
"I won't keep you long." "I just wanted to tell you… She held up a positive pregnancy test.
"Oh my god, Kim." Lexie said happily.
"I know."
"Did you just take it?"
"Yeah."
"Congratulations."
"Thanks."
"Does Randy know yet?"
"I'm telling him when he comes home tonight."
"I can't wait to be an aunt again and I can't wait to tell the kids."
"How are things going with you, John and the kids?"
"Great but the kids and I miss him like crazy." "He's been gone for three weeks filming and he still has another five to go."
"That sucks."
"Yeah."
It was around five o'clock in the evening.
"Guys come down here." Lexie called from the kitchen. Max and Marybeth came into the kitchen. "Look." She said pointing at her laptop screen. John was on it.
"Hi guys." John said.
"Hi John." Max said.
"John I want you to come back." Marybeth said.
"I know Marybeth." John said. "I promise I'm coming to visit when I'm done." "How was school?"
"Good."
"Did you do good on your spelling test?"
"Yeah."
"Good."
"John I got an A on my math test." Max said.
"That's great." John said.
"Mommy did you tell John aunt Kim is pregnant?" Marybeth asked.
"Yes I did." Lexie said.
"I miss you guys." John said talking to the kids.
"We miss you to."
A few days later Marybeth was showing Lexie some things she brought home from school.
"What's this?" Lexie asked holding up a drawing.
"A family picture."
"Is this John?" She asked pointing.
"Yeah, he's part of the family." Lexie smiled.
