Chapter 50: Ice-skating

Damian's POV

I pulled my lips into a snarl when I noticed Todd and Drake playing hockey on the frozen pond on our property. But, I silently wished I could join them.

"Damian, you can stop stalking Timmy and Jay from the window. If you want to play, I'm sure they'll let you." Grayson whispered into my ear. I hadn't even heard him approaching.

"I do not wish to join them." I stubbornly replied.

"Come on, Dami. I'll go with you."

"Grayson, I do not desire nor need your help in this matter."

"You can't ice-skate, can you?"

I hung my head in defeat before shaking it. "Don't tell anyone." I whispered.

I felt his fingers lifting my chin. I could see him giving me a soft smile. "I can teach you."

********Break********

"Grayson, do we have to do this now?" I asked, gesturing to Drake and Todd who were already on the ice.

"Come on, Dami. They're your brothers too. And they'll be there to pick you up if you fall… after they stop laughing of course."

I scowled at his comment as we approached the ice. Todd and Drake stopped what they were doing and skated over to us, while Grayson helped me put my skates on.

"Jason, Timmy, I need you two to help me teach Dami how to skate." Grayson ordered as Todd smirked down at me.

"Oh really? And I thought he could do anything." Todd smirked, making me want to impale his throat with an icicle.

"Jason, don't make fun of Dami." Grayson ordered, while helping me stand up. "Now, you and Timmy go stand over there." He ordered, while pointing to the center of the ice.

We stepped onto the ice with Grayson holding tightly to me. I pushed him away from me. I do not need help; I can do it by myself!

As soon as he let go, I fell. And then Todd and Drake started laughing. Damn them!

"You okay?" Grayson asked, while helping me stand up.

"This is ridiculous! I'm going back inside!" I yelled.

"No you're not." Grayson replied sternly as I glared at him. "Damian, everyone falls. We fall so we can learn to get back up."

"Now, balance is the key part of ice skating. Keep your knees bent and slightly lean forward." He instructed as I obeyed.

I soon felt his hands push me towards Todd. Gliding over the ice, I soon was encased in Todd's arms. He smirked down at me before pushing me back towards Grayson. Back and forth I went for a few minutes before Grayson instructed me to try it on my own.

I was doing it! I was ice-skating by myself! I… I don't know how to stop!

Dick's POV

Oh crap! I forgot to teach Damian how to stop! We watched as Damian plowed straight into Timmy. Oops.

Bruce's POV

I winced as I saw Damian and Tim colliding on the ice. That's going to hurt. But, they appeared to be okay as Jason and Dick helped them up.

"Master Bruce, you could join them. That way, you don't have to stalk them from a window." Alfred said, while coming to stand beside me.

"Alfred, I can't ice-"

I paused as Damian's dog stepped onto the ice and glided towards them. Titus was soon followed by the turkey, the baby bat, and Damian's army of cats. What? Oh great, now the animals can skate...

"Master Bruce, if a dog, a turkey, a bat, and a clowder can skate, then I'm sure you'll have no problem."

"But, what if I fall? I'll look stupid in front of them."

"Why do we fall?"

"So that we can learn to pick ourselves up." I replied, giving him a soft smile.

"Then you'd better hurry."

Thanks for all the reviews and requests that I've been getting!
