An Experiment gone wrong.

Entry 1:

Recently we started experimenting with combining human DNA and Pokémon DNA, results have so far been inconclusive.

Today was the beginning of the incubation period, incubator has been designed to speed up the development of the foetus, this speeds the process up from 9 months to 1 month.

DNA Combined: Mew, Human child (Male, purple hair, average height and weight.) and Hoopa, the DNA of Hoopa and Mew was generously donated by the Augur as is the same with the human DNA of his recently deceased son, The Augur requests we continue to use his sons DNA in the experiments.

The next entry will occur after the end of the incubation period.

[end entry]

Entry 2:

The experiment was unsuccessful, the child was properly developed but was unstable and died after a few minutes out of the incubator. We will attempt this experiment a few more times before we switch up the arrangement and ratios of the DNA and the incubation time.

Several objects in the facility began to float due to Subject 01's latent telekinetic power, based on the object that started floating and the radius this was probably a latent use of the move Psychic, More experimentation required to determine this.

Note, the child was more developed than we expected, he had the body of a baby that had been birthed months before hand rather than the nine months that we expected, is this minor Pokérus, latent aging from the Pokémon DNA? Further experimentation required.

In the time Subject 01 was alive we were unable to determine its IV's.

The child was very clearly male and had normal genitalia, and all indications showed that it was fertile and could have lived relatively normally… I don't want to think about that.

The next entry will be recorded after a new development in the experiment.

[end entry]

Entry 3:

… We're halfway there… but it's starting to get to me. Every 2-3 months I must watch a child DIE it's awful… Come on, keep it together. Be scientific about this.

*huff*

This child survived for a week and a half, it had a very developed mental state, it insisted it had a name, a name. its cognitive processes were that of a five or six-year-old, problem solving, object permanence, memory, it demonstrated high levels of these for what was developed in three months via our incubator, which accelerates growth by 9 times, but for whatever reason seems to accelerate by 12 times for this child.

The subject became rather attached… to me… I was there when it suffered some form of cardiac arrest… in my arms… I… I need a minute.

*sob*

*huff*

The next entry will be recorded when a new development in experiment comes up.

[end entry]

Entry 4:

The child immediately crawled towards me when it came out of the incubator… this suggests some kind of psychic link between these children… if this is due to the Mew DNA, the Hoopa DNA, or both we don't know… but we do know that it Remembers. That's why its mental state is incredibly accelerated every time we recreate the experiment.

This entry is very short, but my colleagues requested I requested that I record this.

The next major development will garner an entry.

[end entry]

Entry 5:

The child survived eight months. It met with the Auger several times in this period and it seemed to recognise him, as a father. It remembers the life of the original, it remembers the life of the Auger's son.

We were both present for this child's development. And seemed to become parental figures in the child's eyes.

It requested we call it Shinso… that was the name of the Auger's son…

I have ethical issues with the experiment, it was fine the first few times but… after so long, three years, I have grown a special bond with the child… a… parental bond.

I should step away from the experiment for a while but… I just can't bring myself to leave this child to the other scientists.

There might not even be a next entry… but if there is… it will be special.

[end entry]

Entry 6:

… Shinso called me 'mama'…

I refuse to tell my co-workers about this, they will try to kick me off the… they'll try to take me away from Shinso. They don't care about him, or me. They care about results; the means justify the end… but do they?

Do the means justify the end in this case? This is a child. A living breathing child. He is alive, he lives he has desires. He has perceived parents, Me, and The Auger, I try not to think about that, Shinso is an intelligent, beautiful baby boy, and they are willing to let this child die, over and over for 'the sake of the experiment.'

They can't hear about this if they do these entries cease. They eliminate them, they erase the data… they tie up lose ends. I know that I can trust the Auger to protect me… but these people are influential people, not even he can guarantee my safety at this point.

If there isn't another entry, go to the auger. The rest of these will be backed up on the Auger's private servers. If someone is reading this, read the rest of the entries, if there are any.

[end entry]

Entry 7:
I learned about the Auger's wife today… ex-wife.

Her name was Emily, she was from Johto… He divorced her after her… violent behaviour towards his son was revealed to him.

… I also learned his name… Adam… it's a nice name, you can see a lot of Adam in Shinso, purple hair, skin tone, similar build… the only difference is the shape of the eyes and face. Even then they're pretty subtle differences.

That was basically it, Shinso is due to come out of the incubator tomorrow… I hope it goes better this time.

Until next time… if there is one.

[end entry]

Entry 8:

Shinso is completely stable, 100% incapable of random failure, his genetic make-up is perfect, he will live a happy, healthy life, he will grow up as a normal child due to Adam's influence… Adam's bringing me along as well, Shinso does see me as a mother after all.

Adam seems nice enough, even if he is a little weird, and won't be there a lot. Reukra is an incredible scientist, Shinso would not be where he is without that man, I am forever grateful.

This was more of a personal update. The next log will be more relevant.

[end entry]

Entry 9:

Shinso has an… unforeseen ability. Absorption. He has the ability to take the DNA of legendries and integrate it into his own body with almost no negative repercussions, is this how he survived the process? By slowly adapting to taking DNA.

This hypothesis is incredibly plausible, and it explains almost all occurrences in the experiment.

Shinso can also use attack moves, Psychic, Shadow ball, Hyperspace Hole, Phantom force, Etc. He seemingly has no hard cap on how many moves he can learn, Reukra almost had a heart attack when he heard this and mumbled something about 'perfection' that seems to be his goal in science, a perfect being.

It's odd.

This ability was discovered by bringing Shinso into contact with Cresselia, his hand glowed pink for a second before… flickers? Apparitions? Of Cresselia's body appeared around Shinso's body when this happened.

We analysed his DNA and found traces of Cresselia's DNA inside him.

This ability changes everything, it closely resembles Arceus' ability to become the type of whatever plate it's holding, if not stronger.

There will be another Log when another major incident occurs.

[end entry]

Entry 10:

… I just got married to the Auger… this is slightly strange.

But… it means I can play a larger role in Shinso's life.

Plus, the ring of the name is nice. Ava Saito. The Saito family, Adam Saito, Ava Saito, and Shinso Saito.

It's nice.

Who knows? Maybe one day Shinso will have a sibling.

I just… it's a beautiful thing, something that is my flesh and blood, something to love, something for Shinso to play with something to play with Shinso.

I wonder what they would look like.

Would they have Adam's purple hair? Or my red hair? Male? Or Female?

I hope that they will be the best they can be.

[end entry]

Entry 11:

She's here! She's finally here!

After nine months of waiting she's here!

Kaiya, her name is Kaiya.

Kaiya Saito.

She's beautiful.

I would give the world for her.

[end entry]

Shinso rubbed circles into the back of his little sister. She had broken down sobbing while listening to the entries.

Shinso would have liked to say that he was strong for her. But a stream of tears flowed down his face as he reminisced of his mother.

He learned parts of his history when he was ten, when Kaiya was born. He learnt the whole story when he was 14, just two years ago. That was just two years ago…

Everything had changed.

Shinso had these thoughts glumly under a rocky overhang as the rain poured around them.

They were running.

The children of the First Auger were running. Running from cults. Darkrai, Sky, Perfection, Infernal, Abyssal, quite literally fucking everyone. Was chasing them, the most appealing option was perfection, something about that word resonated with him, he felt as if he could trust them. It was odd. To feel trust for something you were running away from.

Because while he may have felt safe about it, he was almost perfect in terms of ability and what his limits were… his sister on the other hand.

She was different. Not like him. She wouldn't be safe. So, he ran, he ran to protect her, she was all he had left, she was everything to him, well not all he had left.

Shinso looked to his right, at the pile of things he had saved from his old life and home.

The tapes, a badge from his father's former gym, one of his fathers' trench coats, Etc. they were few in number…

… but they were important… To both of them.

The sound of rain ceased.

"come on sis' we have to go." Shinso prodded. Kaiya nodded slowly, she reached up towards Shinso pleading for him to carry her. Shinso smiled softly and did so.

Shinso activated the extra strength and speed he had absorbed from legendries. He ran like the wind.

His footsteps were thunder and his speed was lightning. He ran until his feet hurt. Until he reached a little secluded town… He went to Telnor town. It was remote, it was safe.

It was rural but didn't lack technology.

But most importantly, Professor Sylvan worked here, he knew her. And right now, they needed her.

He walked into town and made a beeline for the lab.

When he got there he walked in, and saw a silver haired boy, here for a Pokémon, Professor Sylvan… and a man dressed in a black trench coat with black jeans and a black fedora, his eyes were heavy with bags and his face looked tired… it was Reukra.

A/N

This is an alternate story of Pokémon Insurgence, it was just something that I thought of, off the cuff. Adam wasn't sealed inside Shinso's mind.

Adam was divorced and remarried, Shinso has a sister, and Sylvan and Reukra are possibly the only people he can trust anymore… or can he.

If you haven't played Pokémon Insurgence, go and play it, it's an amazing game and it's a great divergence from the Pokémon series a wonderful fan game.

Also, Shinso is just the name of my most recent save file in said game. That's it.

This fanfic puts a spin on the basic premise of that game without completely changing it, some things are just different.

For example, this chapter takes place just after Adam goes 'missing' because the timeline has been moved up.

Anyway, if there are any questions ask away, I look forward to enjoying your response.
