A/N:This one is dedicated to a close friend of mine as my first time writing these characters, happy birthday and I hope you enjoy this story
Marinette was sleeping peacefully on her bed her room being messy with papers and plans all over her disk, the girl was sleeping in an unusual pose with her body leaning to one direction while her head is leaning to another, however her legs were the ones laying on the pillow while her head was resting on her bed's end, despite the weird position she was in the blue haired girl sleeped deeply and snored loudly, all the while her small godly friend Tikki looked at her from her purse with a warm smile before looking at the time on the clock on the wall and sighing
"Sorry in advance Marinette" The kwami said in a guilty tone before flying to an airhorn on Marinette's disk and and using her weight to push its button strongly causing the airhorn to let out a loud sudden voice breaking the silence in the room, the sudden noise made Marinette scream in shock as she woke up and flailed around trying to find the source of the noise when she finally turned around and saw Tikki pressing on the airhorn turning her shocked face into an anamused one. The kwami smiled sheepishly before getting off the airhorn and stopping the horrid noise
"Tikki come on, isn't there a better way to wake me up?" Marinette asked with a messy hair, tired eyes and tone
"Sorry Marinette, but after you stayed up all night being Ladybug and binging this weird kids show you wouldn't wake up any other way for school, I mean that's why you bought this in the first place remember?" Tikki said explaining her actions making Marinette blush in embarrassment. She remembered that day when despite her parents' vest efforts she woke up so late for school she had to paint her face and fake being sick to avoid going to school when the day was halfway done, from that day since she decided to bring an airhorn ti make sure she doesn't wake up that late again
"O-oh yeah...hehe.." Marinette replied rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment
"Yeah binging a show on a school night definitely didn't help either, what was the show again?" Tikki said rubbing he chin in wonder
"Oh you mean The- OH MY GOD SCHOOL! I'M GONNA BE LATE!" Marinette screamed in panic as she quickly ran around and began changing her clothes quickly
"But Marinette you're always late, why is this time any special?" Tikki asked in confusion
"Well that's the thing Tikki I'm not supposed to be so late all the time, just come on get in the bag" Marinette responded as she finally put on her clothes for school and opened the bag for Tikki who flew inside it, she quickly ran downstairs while her parents were baking more of their fresh goodies
"BYE MOM BYE DAD GOTTA GO!" Marinette yelled as she ran out of the bakery surprising Tom and Sabine
"Well that was a shocker" Sabine said in surprise
"Indeed, she woke up three minutes early, maybe this time she won't be late to school!" Tom exclaimed hopingly
"Love the enthusiasm dear but don't raise your hopes up so much" Sabine said giggling at her husband's excitement as Tom sighed in response
"I suppose so, let's just get back to work" Tom replied as he and Sabine continued preparing the bakeries
Some time later Marinette finally arrived at school after a long run and got inside panting heavily, she then looked around through different students to find her best friend Alya when she saw her and Nino talking on the stairs
"Hey guys!" Marinette exclaimed as she ran towards the two
"Woah! Marinette is that really you? But you're three minutes early girl what's the occasion?" Alya said teasing her best friend with a giggle
"Haha very funny Alya, I'll have you know I'm not always late like you think" Marinette replied rolling her eyes at Alya's tease
"Dude, Mrs.Bustier once thought you had a later time schedule than the rest of us from how often you come late" Nino said backing Alya making Marinette groan and frown in embarrassment while Alya laughed at Nino's remark, however mentioning "the rest of us" made a thought pop into Marinette's head, and as she looked around the area she noticed something was off, and it made her frown in concern
"Nino, where's Adrien?" Marinette asked curiously making him slightly frown
"Oh..the poor dude's unfortunately sick with common cold so he won't be coming to school for a while" Nino replied in a bummed tone making Marinette frown immensely, not only was Adrien a long time crush for her but she and him started to get closer and friends, so she felt bad for the boy specially knowing how lonely it can be in his mansion, so she felt the need to make him feel better somehow
"Poor Adrien, do you think we can visit him to cheer him up?" Marinette asked in hope of giving Adrien company after school
"I think that's a no dude, the only reason I knew about it was because when I called him his assistant or as I like to call her "the witch" picked up the phone and told me about it, she also told no visitors are allowed to the mansion till he recovers" Nino replied in a bummed tone
"What?! But that's just unfair!" Marinette replied angrily
"Relax Marinette you're gonna see your future husband soon, me and Nino have a plan for you to get in" Alya said confidentally making Nino confused
"We do?" Nino asked in confusion before Alya elbowed his arm
"I-I mean yeah! We do! We'll get you in there so you can give Adrien some company don't worry hehe" Nino said hesitantly rubbing the back of his head making Marinette smile widely
"Aww thanks you guys!" Marinette exclaimed happily before pulling Nino and Alya into a hug and squeezing them tightly
"I...can't...breathe.." Nino said in a weak tone grasping for air
"First time?" Alya said jokingly
"Well Nathalie, please make sure Adrien doesn't move from his bed, I shall go get the medicine for him myself" Gabriel told Nathalie who were both in Adrien's room alongside Adrien who was laying on his couch weakly in front of his TV
"Understood Mr.Agreste" Nathalie replied simply as Gabriel exited the room making Adrien frown slightly
"Well Adrien,I have to do some paper work so if you need me or the bodyguard please do call us" Nathalie said with her usual monotone voice, however she couldn't help but feel soft seeing Adrien in this state
"Sure thing Nathalie, don't worry I'll try not to disturb you much" Adrien replied weakly, the boy's kindness never ceases to amaze the secretary, that and it made her feel even worse for him for he was the closest person she could consider a son to her, her face softened at the sight of the young Agreste feeling weak and sick not to mention the obvious look of loneliness in his eyes, so she slowly approached his bed and gently covered him with a blanket before putting a hand on his forehead
"Don't worry Adrien, you'll feel better soon enough, and if you ever feel lonely just tell me" Nathalie said in a comforting voice making Adrien smile slightly
"Thanks Nathalie, I'll be ok go do your work, see you later" Adrien replied weakly but Nathalie could tell his tone was at least a bit happier, so she nodded and waved Adrien goodbye before getting out to do her work and closed the room door behind her
"OK Plagg you can get out now it's safe" Adrien whispered making his kwami Plagg pop out from beneath his bed
"Wow Adrien, you look really weak, how could such a small creature inside you cause a human this much damage?" Plagg asked curiously and Adrien just looked at him with an unamused face in response
"Plagg...you exist.." Adrien simply replied
"Oh right, hehe" Plagg said in embarrassment "So does that mean we're excused from being Chat Noir for patrol today? Cause we can really use a break" Plagg said stretching his limbs and yawning
"No way Plagg, me and Ladybug are partners, I will not let her face off against an akuma on her own if one possibly shows up" Adrien replied sternly
"I mean...we can always ask for the fox miraculous to make an illusion of us and-"
"PLAGG!"
"OK fine fine I get it no lazing around, I have to say sometimes I hate how stubborn you are" Plagg said in frustration, however his sour face quickly turned into one of pity upon seeing Adrien's state, he knew it was nothing serious but he couldn't help but feel pity over him, so he flew around the room and returned with a slice of his beloved camembert cheese
"Hey Adrien, when I feel weak I eat this and it makes me feel better, would it work with you?" Plagg asked in concern making Adrien smile at his kind gesture
"I'm not sure, but hey might as well try it" Adrien replied as he took the piece of cheese from him and ate it up
"So?" Plagg asked hopefully
"Hmm...no I'm sorry, but it was delicious, thanks Plagg" Adrien replied grateful for his kwami's attempt
"Ugh, first you're sick and now I wasted a fine piece of camembert, this day is not going good so far" Plagg said in an annoyed tone
"Well Plagg that's unfortunate, cause it might just get worse for you" Adrien said with a smirk making Plagg confused
"Adrien what are you talking about?" Plagg asked curiously, and in response Adrien put on a devilish grin only seen on him when being Chat Noir, as he slowly reached the TV remote control, as Plagg saw this a possibility popped into his mind and it made his eyes go wide
"Adrien...no..." Plagg said in a threatening tone
"Oh it seems like you understood what I'm doing eh? Well too bad, I need to cheer myself up a bit and since I'm alone there's no other way to do it" Adrien replied teasingly with the remote in his hand
"Adrien please anything but this show man, can't you just watch some manga or read anime or something?" Plagg said begging Adrien desperately
"OK first of all, it's the other way around...sort of..second, you wouldn't stop a sick fellow from watching what he wants would you Plagg?" Adrien replied in a weak kinda dramatic tone
"Fiiine, but in that case you won't be seeing me for the rest of the day, later" Plagg said in frustration as he flew off leaving Adrien on his own
"Later Plagg! Now I can finally watch my favourite family in peace" Adrien said with a sigh of relief as he turned on the TV from which emitted a loud quick noisy song as the show's intro and Adrien just watched happily
As schoolday was eventually finished Alya, Nino and Marinette went to Mari's room to discuss their plan, as they all sat down together on the floor with Nino putting on a serious expression trying too hard to sell the fact that he has a plan to Marinette
"Alright you two so what do we got?" Marinette asked excitedly while Nino hummed loudly with closed eyes like a serious thinker making Alya roll her eyes
"Firstly Marinette how about you go get something for Adrien? I'm sure he'd love some macarones or croissants or anything like that, specially since he doesn't eat much sweet things" Alya said simply
"Oh! Great idea Alya! You two discuss your plan and tell me about it when I come back, don't worry I won't be late!" Matinette replied happily as she ran down to get some goodies for Adrien
"Take your time Marinette!" Alya said loudly "Cause looking at Mr.thinker here we're gonna need all the time in the world for him to come up with a plan" Alya said teasingly but Nino payed her no mind as he continued concentrating and thinking hard with his eyes still closed, eventually he opened his eyes with a huge smile
"I got it!" Nino exclaimed in a happy tone
"Finally, you've had this face on all day, this better be a good plan" Alya said in a slightly annoyed tone
"Oh believe me my dear Alya, this plan is immune to failure" Nino replied confidently, a few minutes later Marinette returned a red plastic bag filled with a mix of macarones, croissants and even some chouquettes
"Ok I got Adrien's treats here, so what's the plan?" Marinette asked curiously
"Huddle up you two" Nino said as the three got close to each other prompting Nino to whisper the plan to them
"Oooh that's a good idea Nino!" Marinette said happily
"Oh my lord this is not gonna go well" Alya said to herself as she facepalmed
"Trust me Alya, this will work, we're coming for you Adrien!" Nino exclaimed excitedly
"Yeah!" Marinette said in response
"God how did I end up with you two?" Alya said sarcastically giggling at their hyperactive nature
Alya and Nino gathered some chairs and stacked them on top of each other in the shape of a pyramid in front of the wall of the Agreste mansion while looking around to make sure no one is noticing them executing Nino's flawless plan, after stacking an enough number Alya stood up on the top of the chair pyramid trying her best to maintain her balance, eventually Nino climbed up and sat on Alya's shoulders making the pyramid start shaking
"OK Marinette hurry up and climb us to the other side of the wall before the chair pile collapses" Nino sitting on Alya
"And before this idiot breaks my back!" Alya exclaimed angrily and Marinette nodded in agreement, as she slowly but eventually climbed to the top with the treats bag in her hand and used Nino's palms and a platform to climb to the other side of the wall
"Way to go Marinette!" Nino exclaimed excitedly
"Yeah...great...so how is she gonna get to the ground?" Alya asked barely carrying him
"...Huh...good question" as soon as Nino said that they heard Marinette yell before falling to the ground with a thud
"Marinette are you ok?!" Alya yelled in concern
"I'm in you guys...yay..." Marinette said weakly laying on the ground
"OK she's fine now let's get down before this chair-" before Alya can complete her sentence the Pyramid completely collapsed making Alya and Nino ride a collapsing pile of chairs to the ground
"Ow..." Alya and Nino said laying on the ground with a slight pain before getting up to continue the plan
"OK Marinette wait till we bait out someone from inside the mansion and get in once you see the door open!" Nino yelled to Marinette from his side of the wall
"Alright!" Marinette replied excitedly
"OK genius so how are we gonna do this exactly?" Alya asked with crossed arms making Nino smile with a confident almost arrogant expression
Alya was laying on the ground in front of the gate to the agreste mansion with a fake pained expression while a drop of ketchup was on her shirt, letting out fake groans of pain while Nino put on a sad face and stared at the security camera
"Oh please wouldn't one of you help my girlfriend here? She's in so much pain and she's even bleeding! My phone is dead and my house is far and I attend to her wounds right away please!" Nino exclaimed trying his best to convince the people inside to open the door
Meanwhile inside the mansion Nathalie was checking the security camera when she saw Nino and Alya's baiting attempt making her roll her eyes and sigh in frustration before going to the gorilla bodyguard
"Would you please get those kids away? Their little act has been quite the annoyance" Nathalie ordered the bodyguard who nodded before going out of the house to drive them away, unbeknownst to them Marinette was watching the door from behind the stairs waiting patiently for it to open, and the second she saw the bodyguard open the door she ran as fast as she could inside
"HAHA YES! NOW I CAN GO TO ADRIEN AND OOOF-" Marinette exclaimed running into the house as she bumped immediately into Nathalie falling to the floor while Nathalie remained unfazed
"Ow sorry I didn't mean to bump into you" Marinette said rubbing her head from the pain of the fall still unknowing of whom she bumped into
"It's OK, Marinette was it?" Nathalie asked in a cold tone
"Yeah I'm Marinette Mrs.."Mari's eyes then went wide as she realised who she was talking to, she looked up to see Nathalie looking very intimidating from how tall she stood above her "...Nathalie.." Marinette said with a sheepish smile
"Yes that is my name, would you mind telling me what are you doing here?" Nathalie asked sternly making Marinette sweat nervously
"Well I..umm..well..the thing is..Uhhh" Marinette was stuttering due to her nervousness and as Nathalie waited for an answer she noticed the bag of pastries and bakeries with Marinette and put two and two together
"Do you happen to be here for Adrien?" Nathalie asked making Marinette gulp in response
"W-well...*sigh*..yes I am, I need to check on him please" Marinette admitted in defeat
"Well I'm sorry but Mr.Agreste insisted that there shall be no visitors" Nathalie replied
"Pleaaase, I don't want him to be all alone while he's sick, I just want to give him some company as least for today, please m'am" Marinette said in a desperate tone begging Nathalie to let her visit Adrien while putting on her best puppy eyes and face, and while Nathalie was not at all fazed by her attempts Mari's face reminded her of how sad Adrien looked when he had to be alone in his room, she felt pity for the young boy and figured that maybe a visit from one of his friends would cheer him up, so with that her expression softened and she sighed making Marinette confused
"Alright then, you can give Adrien some company, but you have to leave before Mr.Agreste comes back home" Nathalie said making Marinette smile widely before hopping on to her and hugging her tightly catching her off guard
"Oh thank you so much m'am!" Marinette exclaimed before letting go and running to Adrien's room
"*Sigh* You have some weird friends Adrien.." Nathalie said before breaking a small smile "But I'm glad they can make you happy"
Speaking of his friends the bodyguard was carrying Nino and Alya away from the mansion with one hand each with Alya having an anumsed face throughout the whole thing
"Wow. Imagine my surprise, they didn't fall for it" Alya said sarcastically
"Oh come on Alya at least Marinette got inside, I hope she can cheer up my bro" Nino said looking back at the mansion with hopes that Marinette will be able to cheer Adrien up
Marinette slowly walked into Adrien's room, searching around for her crush when she heard the TV's noise, however the noise from the show on was quite familiar for the girl, as Marinette can easily remember it's loud characters and toony sound effects and the voices were, and with a curious smile she looked at the TV screen and her suspicions were confirmed, a show about a family of 13 with one boy and ten girls along with their friends, and as much as it was a pleasant surprise for her she was even more shocked when she heard some laughs coming from the couch, laughs which Marinette could identify from anywhere, laughs that were so adorable that they can only come from her dreamy crush, Adrien Agreste
As Marinette slowly moved towards the TV she suddenly heard the laughs again and looked at the couch, and the sight made her blush immensely, Adrien was laying down on his couch covering himself up in a blanket, she had to admit that he looked even cuter than usual like that, looking like a caterpillar in a cocoon with how his whole body is wrapped in the blanket, not to mention his adorable smile when watching the show, he seemed so immersed in it he didn't even notice Marinette standing right besides him, and while she wouldn't mind watching him like that for a while she needed to at least talk with him a bit before his father comes home, so she took a deep breath to prepare herself before speaking up
"H-hey Adrien" Marinette said in a shy hesitant tone, the moment she said that Adrien's face turned to a one of confusion before looking towards where he heard the voice from only to find Marinette making the boy's eyes widen and turning his cheeks red
"O-oh Marinette! Hello there! Ummm...this isn't what it looks like believe me!.." Adrien said in an embarrassed tone, Marinette had to admit he looked funny all flustered and embarrassed like that, however she was confused as to what exactly made him act that way or say those things
"Hehehe oh Adrien what's wrong? Why are you all embarrassed like that?" Marinette asked giggling at his odd embarresment and Adrien couldn't help but blush a bit more and looking down
"W-well it's just that..you know...I'm watching a kids show and all so..." Adrien said in a low shy tone
"So you think it's embarrassing?" Marinette asked trying to understand Adrien
"Well...sorta...I mean who above the age of ten watches these kids cartoons?..Well...besides me? It's childish don't you think so?" Adrien asked in a shy tone making Marinette feel bad for him, she didn't want him to hide his enjoyment of something because he thinks it's childish, so she had to assure him
"Oh Adrien, there's no shame in enjoying this type of stuff believe me" Marinette said in a comforting voice
"You don't think the others would laugh at it?" Adrien asked
"Of course not! Adrien we're your friends, and if this is what makes you happy then we're glad it does, we don't care what if it's a kids show or not believe me" Marinette replied sternly making sure Adrien isn't any embarresed it ashamed to enjoy what he wants, Adrien had to admit that her words made him feel a lot more confident inside, not to mention it put a huge a smile on his face hearing that he has friends who wouldn't care for such things, and despite still questioning how Marinette got here, he was still glad she was here
"Thanks Marinette, that really helped, and thanks for coming too, it can get a bit lonely here so I'd love to have your company for a while" Adrien said in a happy tone smiling at Marinette and the young girl couldn't help but blush in response
"N-no problem Adrien! What are future wives-I mean friends for if not looking after their sick friends?!" Matinette replied with a sheepish smile in a panicy tone making Adrien laugh slightly
"Hehehe, you're quite funny Marinette, please make yourself comfortable, sit besides me" Adrien said as he got up and sat one side of the couch making room for Marinette, his blanket still covering him all over, and the offer made Marinette scream internally, but she collected her thoughts before trying to reply
"S-sure! Why not?" Marinette said in her usual stuttering tone as she sat besides Adrien who got back to watching the show
"Oh by the way in case you want to know the show is called-"
"The loud house" Marinette finished making Adrien's eyes go wide
"Wait, how did you know? Does Marron watch this show whenever you babysit her?" Adrien asked curiously
"Actually...I may have or may have not binged the whole show over the past week...hehe..." Marinette replied rubbing the back of her head making Adrien smile widely before slightly squealing
"I'm really sorry about that, I just never thought I'd talk to another fan in person! That's amazing! If I may ask, who's your favourite character?" Adrien said enthusiasticly, obviously happy at the fact he found someone who shares his love for the show, and while his sudden enthusiasm surprised her Marinette loved seeing that side of Adrien, plus she can't deny she freaked out a bit on the inside when she realised he was watching a show she likes too, and seeing Adrien so enthusiastic like that really warmed her heart
"Well I have to say it's Lori, I don't know there's something about how much responsibility she has or the stress she can go through that kinda makes her relatable for me you know? Plus she's really cute!" Marinette replied confidently, having joy I'm talking about the character she loves
"Oooh that's a good one Marinette! For me I think it's Lincoln, I know he's just the simple protagonist and all but I don't know, I just love seeing him act like a kid and just have fun and make childish mistakes and such, and in the end of the day no matter how crazy things get he still loves and enjoys his family's company, I guess I just find it fun and nice to see kids acting like kids" Adrien said with a warm smile making Marinette smile similary as well, never in her entire life did she think she would find the courage to talk to him normally by bonding over a kids cartoon, but she didn't mind it one bit, in fact, she loved it
"I think that's really neat Adrien, do you also watch the spin-off?" Matinette asked curiously
"Oh I do watch the Casagrandes yeah! Ronnie Anne is my second favourite character so I love watching her show, and hey don't tell anyone but...I kinda ship her with Lincoln" Adrien replied shyly
"Aww that's really cute! I didn't know you ship some of the characters too, I do so myself" Marinette replied in a confidence she never felt when talking to Adrien before
"Really? Awesome! So who do you ship the most?" Adrien asked with a smile
"Well this will sound weird but...I ship Ronnie Anne with her best friend Sid" Marinette replied in an embarrassed tone
"Aww that's actually kind of cute" Adrien replied
"It's just that...I don't know I just think they'd be cute as a couple you know? But that's just me" Marinette said rubbing the back of her head
"Well I never saw them as more than just friends but I think I get what you mean, I feel the same way about Ronnie Anne and Lincoln, but if you like shipping them then you do you Marinette! I'm just glad I found someone to enjoy this with me...which makes me want to ask, what for you into the show in the first place?" Adrien asked curiously
"Well...I guess I just watch it as a stress reliever you know? It's not a phenomenal show with deep characters or anything it's just a show that I watch to cheer me up at times, it helps me get over my stress some days you know?" Marinette said as Adrien nodded understanding Marinette
"Yeah I get what you mean, it's not at all a historical timeless show it's just some harmless fun I watch to cheer me up, and sometimes when I feel a bit lonely and as weird as it sounds...the characters feel like company to me you know? They mean a lot to me even if they're not real...I'm sorry that just sounded odd I know" Adrien said apologizing for his mini-rant
"No no it's OK! You don't need to apologize, I completely understand, and I'm glad those characters make you feel happy I really do! You're...you're a great guy and you deserve it.." Marinette said with a blushy face making Adrien also blush in embarrassment
"Thanks Marinette, it really means a lot hearing that" Adrien said in a happy tone
"Y-your welcome Adrien. OH I almost forgot! These are for you" Marinette replied handing the bag of treats to Adrien making him smile widely
"Woah! Choquettes? Those are my favorite! Thanks a lot Marinette you really made my day in more way than one" Adrien said happily making Marinette blush and smile warmly, suddenly they heard the door of the room open and looked towards it, it was Nathalie heading towards them with her usual cold expression
"Marinette I'm afraid this is all the time we have for today, Mr.Agreste will be home soon" Nathalie said making both Mari and Adrien frown, as Marinette sighed sadly before getting off the couch when Adrien put a hand on her shoulder
"Wait! Could she come again every day Nathalie? Please?" Adrien begged with a puppy face making Nathalie sigh and soften her expression
"Alright, I'll try my best to make sure she can visit you for some time everyday" Nathalie responded making Adrien get off the couch and hug her tightly
"Thanks Nathalie, and see you later Marinette" Adrien said happily as he waved Marinette goodbye
"Later Adrien!" Marinette waved back enthusiasticly before getting out of the room and eventually the mansion, and upon going out she started hopping up and down happily laughing all over the streets, with Nino and Alya seeing her from afar
"See, the plan was a huge success" Nino said confidently with crossed arms and a cocky smile making Alya roll her eyes
And so over the week Marinette would sneak in and watch the loud house with Adrien, pointing out the things they like or dislike about an episode or character, bonding over something they both like or debating in a friendly manner about something, all while Tikki and Plagg would watch them from a distance, with Plagg constantly getting annoyed at the show while Tikki forces him to stay and watch the two having fun.
"OK Adrien I'm here again! So what's the surprise you wanted to show me?" Marinette asked getting into Adrien's room, when she was suddenly thrown a small plushie towards her, despite her surprise she was able to catch the plushie and she smiled widely upon seeing what it was
"Like the Lori plush I got you? I got a Lincoln one to match" Adrien said holding his plushie in his hand
"Adrien that's so sweet of you! Thanks!" Marinette said happily hugging the plushie to her chest
"No problem! Now come on! The show's about to start!" Adrien exclaimed gesturing for Marinette to come over, and that she did, as they put their plushies next to each other and enjoyed their show together, happily watching it with no worries or problems, specially that now they both have someone to share their love for something with, and who knows? Maybe that shared love would escalate to mutual love between the teens, but for now, they will enjoy each other's company and for a long time to come
