Chapter 1: A New Beginning
Being the daughter of the Number One Hero was the best thing in the world, at least that's what Inko Midoriya would say if you asked her. Her dad was Deku, the world's best hero and no matter what anyone else said it wouldn't change her mind. She was raised by two loving parents, and while neither of them could be home too often it made her glad that they were out saving lives. Her mother Neijire-chan was the Number Two Hero, earning that title after years of training with her father, much to the chagrin of Uncle Kacchan.
The light buzzing of her phone is ultimately what woke her in the morning, fumbling around Inko managed to grab her phone. Opening it up she saw her morning bed head displayed on the reverse camera, her curly mint green hair sticking out at all different angles. Quickly she switched the camera so she could see who was facetiming her, honestly she shouldn't have been surprised.
Staring back was none other than her best friend, Iwa Kirishima, the girl's shoulder length curly black hair perfectly styled. Her piercing red eyes hiding a glint of mischief. A characteristic sharp toothed smile was just as wide as ever.
"Iwa-chan do you know what time it is?" Inko complained, smothering her face in her pillow before looking up again, "You know I need my beauty sleep."
"It's almost noon Inko-chan," Iwa pointed out, idly twisting a lock of her hair between her clawed fingers, "You sleep like a rock and that's saying something coming from me."
"Ugh," Inko groaned in response, "What'd you want this early in the morning?"
"Get up and meet me at the mall," Iwa demanded pointing an accusing finger at Inko, "We've got to relax more, all you ever do is train."
"Fine I'll get up," Inko moaned, literally rolling out of her bed, falling on the floor with a thud, "Ooowww."
Shutting off her phone Inko sat up rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. Slowly she showered and got ready for the day, putting on a deku hoodie and matching leggings, pulling her hair into a messy bun. Finally slipping on mint green shoes which matched her fathers in every other conceivable way Inko found her way downstairs and into the kitchen.
A quick look around told her that her parents were both out, it should have been expected after all, the Deku-chan agency was the most popular agency in the city. Fixing herself a bowl of Dyno-mites cereal, the food having a characterture of Ground Zero on the box. Savoring the sugary goodness Inko finished her bowl and headed off to the mall.
Iwa was easy to find standing at the front of the mall next to a vending machine. The girl wore a brown leather jacket over her ripped black shirt and ripped jeans, Inko couldn't help but feel a bit insecure about her fashion when she was with Iwa, she was a natural.
"Inko-chan!" Iwa called out slinging her arm over her best friend's shoulder, "Took you long enough, I was just about to call you again."
"You know that Sunday's are my only day off," Inko countered, stuffing her hands into the pockets of her hood, "I get the extra sleep when I can."
"I get you wanna be a hero and all," Iwa said, leading her friend into the mall, "But don't you think you push yourself a bit too hard? I mean I only train like twice a week."
"You don't have the top two heroes as your parents Iwa-chan," Inko pointed out as her big blue eyes pursued the shops in the mall, her eyes lingering on a magazine.
"I guess I don't," Iwa agreed, closing her eyes and continuing forward, leaving Inko behind. She turned back to her friend, "Are you staring at him again?"
"What? No!" Inko protested as Iwa picked up the magazine, a boy around their age on the cover of it.
"Ren Todoroki," Iwa said a smirk crossing her face, "Teenage heart throb and..." She flipped open to a page with him posing in a stylish outfit, his heterochromatic eyes and pink skin drawing attention, "Hottest boy in our school."
"He's not," Inko denied her face turning bright red as she thought about him.
"You know you can just ask him out," Iwa pointed out, "You're really cute and the daughter of two top heroes, his dad is Number Four and his mom is Pinky, so it's not like he's out of your league or anything."
"I don't even like him!" Inko sputtered out, her blush growing more intense as she desperately failed at covering her face, "He's too busy for someone like me anyways…"
"Girl-," Iwa started before a deafening explosion cut her off, the power in the building shutting off, "A villain attack?"
"I don't know," Inko replied as she looked around the mall, civilians started screaming in panic as more explosions sounded. Turning to the center of the mall both girls watched as a man with reptilian skin and bulging muscles barreled through the courtyard.
The man's eyes were wide and blank as he charged, saliva flying from his mouth pushing people out of his way. Inko could tell right away that he was just your typical D-class villain, not a huge threat, but something was off about him and she had to do something about it.
"Inko-chan, don't," Iwa said, noticing the familiar glint in her friend's eyes, "This is something the heroes can take care of, we can only fight back if he attacks us."
"I can't sit here and do nothing," Inko complained, green energy building up in her hands, "I'm my dad's daughter in the worst way."
"Then call the police, a hero will be here soon," Iwa shouted, turning around as the villain got closer, "They can take them out."
"Iwa-chan!" Inko called out as the villain suddenly gained a burst of speed, hitting Iwa to the side. Based purely on instinct Inko reacted, activating her quirk. Throwing her hands forward light green waves of energy blasted out of her hands colliding with the villain, her weak blast did almost nothing to him, but it was enough to get his attention. His blank eyes suddenly gained clarity as he looked around and his muscle bound form receded leaving him a skinny reptile.
"What happened?" The man asked, looking around at the destruction, "D-did I do this?"
Ignoring the bewildered muttering of the villain, Inko rushed to her friend's side, the girls shirt and jacket were torn, but the skin underneath was undamaged. Breathing a sigh of relief Inko looked at her friend's face, the girl wearing a grin with an expression of pure glee.
"I'm sorry," Iwa chuckled, wiping a fake tear from her eye, "It was too good of an opportunity to pass up, you should've known that I could get my hardening up in time."
"Iwa-chan you idiot!" Inko shouted smacking the girl on the back of her head, "Why in the world would you do that? People could have gotten hurt!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Iwa complained, rubbing the back of her head, "But the villain was stopped and no one else got hurt."
"No thanks to you," Inko said berating her best friend, "That's no way a future hero should be acting."
"Yeesh," Iwa sighed laying on the ground, "If I had known you were gonna be such a sourpuss I wouldn't have invited you."
Oracle watched the security camera footage of the villain attack at the mall, taking note of what happened. She was pleased with the results, just like she had heard all those years ago, Queen Bee's quirk worked as a remote delivery system for Trigger. The only thing she needed to work out was the duration.
"Ms. Karada," Her secretary called over the intercom, "Your five o'clock is here."
"Send him in," Oracle replied, turning to the door as a man in an orange jumpsuit was ushered into the room by two armed police officers, "Please sit down." She motioned towards the chair opposite her own.
"What do you want?" The man demanded, his amber eyes glaring at her, the two officers leaving them alone, "I'm due to die tomorrow anyways."
"Kai Chisaki," She started picking up a strange device from her desk, "You're a man due to die, but I can give you a second chance to make a life that's worth living."
"Who're you to stop my death sentence," He spat out, his voice seething with hatred.
"I'm someone with influence," She informed, pressing a device to the back of his head, "But I wasn't really asking." A needle shot out of the device, something attaching itself to his brain.
"GRAH!" He screamed out in pain, "You madwoman!"
"Not exactly," She giggled strutting in front of him, taking a seat on the desk, "I consider myself ambitious." She picked up a needle from her desk, the strange liquid inside, "You already know what this is, Trigger, but my own mix to give me my wits while I'm using it." She slid the needle into her arm, the injection causing her quirk to surge.
"Now let's do something about those," She said pointing to his arms, boney needles protruding from her fingers. She slammed them into his chest, activating her quirk, "You're the new face of the world!"
